Backcountry Ride™ Neck Gaiter 2.8 5 11 11
Very useful for riding a bike at sub-zero temperatures When riding a bike at -10°C and below , I find that a scarf is very uncomfortable so I bought this. It partially solves the problem by giving some neck protection and mouth/nose protection as well. I recommend it :) February 23, 2012
Great Product! I am constantly going from indoors to outdoors and back throughout a normal day and this Gaiter is phenomenal. It's light enough around my neck to stay comfortable while inside, yet effective enough to make a noticeable difference while outside. February 22, 2012
This product's fabric is a little thin. The product is a little big for my neck/head since it is one size fits all and the fabric is a little thin. It provided good protection in the wind and snow even though it was thin. January 24, 2012
Simply Too Large I got this shipped to me, it honestly looked promising, but it's really large and the vents are too high. Adjusting it to make it fit is ridiculous. The materials and build quality is nice, but like I said, horrible fit. Personally, the better neck gaiters is with Mountain Hardware if you're still looking for a Columbia connection. Only one job to do, and.... I have a beanie with the Omniheat fabric inside of it, which makes it a little heater on my head. I love that beanie. As someone who gets windburn on their face when I ski, I was pretty pumped to find this. One trip out on the slopes, and this thing fails in just about every way that it can. One: It doesn't stay On Your Face. The opening at the top is way too big to hold itself on, I'm probably going to sew on a clip or button to cinch up the top so it can keep itself on. I had to tuck it in under my goggles so that it was able to hold itself up, which was Grade A Uncomfortable. Two: The breathing holes are in the wrong place. No where near my mouth, the laser-cut holes made sure my chin was getting wind-blown the entire time, while the cloth got dampy because...I can't breathe out of my chin. Three: Massive tags. I'm going to have to cut these off, but I hadn't done this in preparation for our first time out with my new face wrap. The tags are on the vertical seam at the top, right where your face is, so if it isn't sitting perfectly flat on your face (at which point it falls off), you've got a tag poking you in the eye. How hard would it have been to put the tags at the bottom? Bonus negative synergy rant:Those tags made it hard to tuck the wrap into my goggles.(See note one above) I gave it one bonus star only because I appreciate that it comes in a fun pattern (I got the striped one), not the standard lame colors you usually end up with in outdoor gear. That's also the only reason I'm going to put a little work into it and try to make it work for me. A very simple product very poorly designed overall; bad show, Columbia. January 5, 2012
Not enough thickness I own several gaiters and this one is more like a turtle neck. It is very thin and stretches easily out of shape. The reflective silver is only on half of the inside, the other is just fabric. This should be made of fleece, as it is too thin to be really functional. January 4, 2012
gaiter My fiancee has to work outside and absolutely loves this item. It was his favorite Xmas Gift! December 26, 2011
Fits if you wear a hat I agree that the fit is not perfect, but the quality of the material is great. I am a small female and it fits me well if I tuck the sides and back under a stocking cap. I also have to fold the top down a little to ensure the breathing holes are in the right spot without any material getting too close to my eyes. December 19, 2011
Not designed well This is the first thing from Columbia that I have been disappointed in. It is not small enough to stay on my face. I have a medium sized head but a large nose. It will not stay up on my nose. The only way to get it to stay is if i have it so far around my whole head that it blocks half of my vision. Back to the drawing board on this one. December 1, 2011
Holes!! It looks like a great product overall, but it has one major flaw! The breathing hole is not in the right place :( If you have a long neck and face this might be perfect for you! November 10, 2011
Doesn't even come close to staying on my face! Falls down every time it is on my face. Breathing hole is not in the right spot. I am an average sized person and this is way off. Should be "One Size Fits Few." October 17, 2011
