Too many pockets for too little room
The main zippered pocket is too small (height, width, and depth), especially if you slip your laptop into the laptop sleeve stitched in behind it. Laptop stays well protected but protection causes an uneven bottom, which forces the pack to fall forward every time you set it down. Ridiculous! It won't sit flat, which is very annoying. There is a lot of wasted space at the top of the pack because, of course, everything you carry falls right to the bottom. Got this pack because I enjoyed my previous Columbia pack. I tried to trick myself into liking it after I started to have some doubts…after all, it did cost over $100. Regrettably, I have to say I am very disappointed with this product. I guess it's just too "technical" of a pack for my needs as a student. It has only two pen/pencil pockets and not nearly enough room for my books and binders together. Caveat emptor!

50/50
I got this product for my laptop, it is 17" in height, and 12.5" in width. It did not fit in the laptop pocket, i have to put it in the middle one but even then is a tight close. If you are wanting to get it for your laptop, see if you could find a bigger one.
I got the yellow one and love the way it looks, but like i said i only got it for my laptop since i don't like the shoulder bags.
