Very warm, but too small
The hat is very warm and blocks wind and rain very well, but it is too small to be comfortable. I have been able to stretch it out through use, but I would reach for it more often if it was a little larger. It doesn't cover my ears well. While I'm not often called humble, I also don't get accused of having an abnormally large head either.

fits snug
this beanie is very warm and lightweight. it fits snug at first but stretches a little after it is worn a few times.

Great fleece hat.
First and foremost, as most others have mentioned, this product runs small. Luckily, I have a smaller head, so it still fits. I will say though, it is a bit tight. However, this is nothing that can't be fixed by just wearing it to the point that it molds to my head.
Other than the hat running small, the hat is perfect in every way. My hair is thinning, so I decided that I needed to purchase a sock hat/toboggan. I could not be happier. The Omni-Heat lining works as advertised. My overall body warmth is considerably higher when wearing this hat. Even if you aren't losing your hair like me, this hat does a superb job of retaining your body heat. It also does a great job at breathing, so your head doesn't get too warm. As is with most of Columbia's gear, this product is EXCELLENT!

Fast Trek™ Fleece Hat Omni-Heat®
I ordered this product as an alternative to a basic skull cap. The construction of the product is excellent and color selection is adequate. Where the product lacks is sizing. Specifically, I ordered LG/XL and found it tight and constrictive. I am what is considered "average" and my thought is that the sizing is more in line with boys wear. I do recommend this product but be aware of the odd sizing.

Fast Trek size
Ordered a small/med for my son for CHRISTmas, then read the reviews about the size running small, which caused me to have to cancel and re-order. The large/xl fit me tight at 7 1/4 but was perfect for my son. I'm happy but I think a re-sizing of product is necessary.

Fast Trek Fleece Hat
This is a nice hat for workouts in cold weather. A recent review said that it runs small, so we ordered a large and am glad we did. It is snug, but does the job. Thanks!

Mega Melon
Apparently I have an extremely large head! lol Unfortunately this was way to small as was another hat I ordered. Yes, I ordered the Xlarge size. I guess I need to stick to men's hats but in the meantime, one of my friends is loving that neither of my hats fit...she got them!

This product is very functional
Had to order L/EL for 14 year old Granddaughter. It just fits. The hat and boots run very small. You have to order a couple sizes larger than usual.

Nice hat
I love the hat, it's thin and yet it keeps my balding head incredibly warm! My only complaint is the availability of sizes. I have the large/XL and it hurts my ears with extended wear. My head is not overly big or anything like that - no matter what my wife says, lol. LOVE THE HAT, wish it were a little bigger.

Excellent hat that keeps my head warm and not sweaty during activity. On the down side they do run small. I bought the small/medium and the next size up would have fit much better.

Very warm; very tight fit
This hat is surprisingly thin, but also very warm. For me, that's perfect. However, it's a tight-fitting hat. I purchased the larger size, and even on my shaved head the hat fits very tightly. I guess it might stretch over time, but for anyone with a large head and/or a lot of hair, this hat might not be for you.
But if you have short hair and are looking for a warm hat that's not bulky, this is a great hat.

Fast Teck Fleece Hat
Excellent hat for an African American man. It fits over the head and ears just right. Not good hat if you have a lot of hair.

Great quality, too small
This hat is constructed well, is warm, but it is too tight and short on my head. I have the L/XL size hat and it is very tight and does not completely cover my ears. I don't think that I have an extremely large head, but this hat makes me look like I do.
However, because it fits so tight, I can see it being useful for wearing under a helmet or other type of hat.

Hat is too small for adult head
It looks nice, and I am sure it is warm, but I cannot wear it long enough to tell. I do not have a big head, typically a size 7 1/4 (pretty standard for an adult male). I ordered the largest size available (L/XL).

A Little Small
This hat is a little tight. I ordered a L/XL after reading several reviews. I am glad I did. It is still a little small. I am hoping it stretches after wearing it for a while.

tight fitting
This is a very nice hat, and I'm sure it would be really warm. I love the color and the feel of it. I ordered the L/XL and it is too small for me. I don't have a giant head, I think it is meant to fit snugly. It's just not my preference to have a hat be that tight - it would give me a headache. I gave it to a friend who is a runner and will get good use out of it.

Really needs to be tried on
I used your instructions for head measurements and I couldn't even get it halfway on my head. I have found this hat locally since then and will try it on at the store.

fast trek fleece hat
Awesome hat. My head and ears won't be cold this winter. I have 2 take my doglette
out on a leash, it gets cold in Ohio so I'm super I got this hat!

If you are looking for a skull cap...
If I was only going to have only one winter hat, I think I would pass on this one. It is a little tight, giving it a claustrophobic feel. The advantage to the tightness it that it will stay put on your head when you are wearing a hood, inside a sleeping bag, or wearing a bike helmet. It's warm enough in Fall or Spring weather. If you are looking for a casual Winter hat, there are better choices.

awesome hat
This is a great hat. It is warm but your head doesn't get all sweaty even when you are engaging in strenuous activity. It keeps my head warm even in the frigid temperatures in Alaska. It does run a bit small but after wearing it a few times it has stretched enough that it is now very comfortable to wear.

I bought one last winter, but lost it. Had to buy another. Comfortable, doesn't itch and keeps you warm but not sweaty. Great hat.

hat size
Just opened my package and put it on. Perhaps this is a L/XL for children but wouldn't fit on my head without really pulling and then it was way too tight.
It has to go back despite my love of omni-heat. No one in my family has a head this small.

Fails
Thin material. Way too small. Runs one to two sizes smaller than stated. An awful oroduct. Way below normal Columbia standards.

LOVE THIS HAT!
I run outdoors quite a bit and just went for a rare ski trip and knew that my regular fleece running hat would never fit under a ski helmet. Too much extra on top. This hat was fabulous. It fit under my helmet and really kept in the heat, without being too hot. Paired with a gator to keep my neck warm, I was toasty on the slopes!

Incredibly warm fleece hat
Very comfortable fleece hat that has kept me warm during this winter so far. Presumably it would do well for those in a colder climate too. I am in Washington, D.C. where temps have not dipped below the teens but this hat has been a real bonus for my outdoors wardrobe.

Great for cold days
The Fast Trek Fleece Hat Omni-Heat worked great just as I expected. The Omni-Heat lining is the new norm of staying warm. My only suggestion would be to have the Omni-Heat lining come down a little further to cover more of your ears. Also; it would be nice to offer this product in camouflage to appeal to hunters. Overall- GREAT product and definitely worth the price.

Great hat!!
I got this to use in below freezing weather for snowsports (and everyday use) and this was the one piece of garment that I did not have to worry about. It kept my head at the perfect temperature without being too warm or to cold. Didn't even break a sweat or feel cold wind coming through. What I do worry about is the reflective lining coming off over time but that is to be seen. Overall, a great hat so far.

Hat is very nice
It's very nice, the fit is a little tight. It's warm but I don't know if it's much warmer than a "normal" good hat. The jackets Columbia sells with the heat tech lining (like this hat) def works and keeps you warm, I'm just not sure how effective it is in a hat. But it's still a good hat and it keeps me warm.

Warm!
This fleece hat will definitely keep your head warm. It is a nice, soft, thin fleece. The OmniHeat lining keeps you surprisingly warm. It is very tight fitting, not that it hurts, but with long hair coming out of it, I look a bit silly with it on. Still, very warm and would definitely recommend it for that. (Looks great on my short-haired husband!)

Very light weight, fits comfortably rather than tight or loose. Easy to roll up to fit in any pocket when not needed.

MY GO TO HAT IN THE WINTER!
I am in the woods a lot during the winter time and I always find myself grabbing the Fast Trek fleece hat (out of many choices). It provides the perfect amount of warmth for my head and ears no matter what I'm doing...from orienteering to shoveling the driveway. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Very warm
My head is a little big so the lower part of my ears don't quite get covered but overall I am very pleased with this hat. I have worn it on some bitterly cold days and it has kept me warm.

Comfort
The hat fits snugly without binding and is
perfect to keep me warm without being bulky.

Kinda Thin
On the thin side and doesn't really keeps the wind out on its own on the ears but when used with the Fleece Neck Gaiter pulled up over the ears its a great combo. If i would have bought this with out the Gaiter I would have returned it.
