maybe it's me..... ...but this puppy is way too tight. I can barely stretch it on my head. And this is the largest size? I can't say how warm it will be due to the winter season is not here yet. most likely I wont even use it. I hate my hair plastered to my head as well as the marks across my forehead. My question is, are they trying to be cheap and save material or are the designers that crazy. Or maybe it was one big mistake. Anyway, if your looking for a real tight hat that wont come off while your hanging upside down. Then, this is it. I like Columbia. Just, not this hat! September 19, 2012

Very warm, but too small The hat is very warm and blocks wind and rain very well, but it is too small to be comfortable. I have been able to stretch it out through use, but I would reach for it more often if it was a little larger. It doesn't cover my ears well. While I'm not often called humble, I also don't get accused of having an abnormally large head either. March 1, 2012

Great fleece hat. First and foremost, as most others have mentioned, this product runs small. Luckily, I have a smaller head, so it still fits. I will say though, it is a bit tight. However, this is nothing that can't be fixed by just wearing it to the point that it molds to my head.Other than the hat running small, the hat is perfect in every way. My hair is thinning, so I decided that I needed to purchase a sock hat/toboggan. I could not be happier. The Omni-Heat lining works as advertised. My overall body warmth is considerably higher when wearing this hat. Even if you aren't losing your hair like me, this hat does a superb job of retaining your body heat. It also does a great job at breathing, so your head doesn't get too warm. As is with most of Columbia's gear, this product is EXCELLENT! January 30, 2012
Fast Trek™ Fleece Hat Omni-Heat® I ordered this product as an alternative to a basic skull cap. The construction of the product is excellent and color selection is adequate. Where the product lacks is sizing. Specifically, I ordered LG/XL and found it tight and constrictive. I am what is considered "average" and my thought is that the sizing is more in line with boys wear. I do recommend this product but be aware of the odd sizing. January 17, 2012

Fast Trek size Ordered a small/med for my son for CHRISTmas, then read the reviews about the size running small, which caused me to have to cancel and re-order. The large/xl fit me tight at 7 1/4 but was perfect for my son. I'm happy but I think a re-sizing of product is necessary. December 29, 2011

Mega Melon Apparently I have an extremely large head! lol Unfortunately this was way to small as was another hat I ordered. Yes, I ordered the Xlarge size. This product is very functional Had to order L/EL for 14 year old Granddaughter. It just fits. The hat and boots run very small. You have to order a couple sizes larger than usual. December 26, 2011
Nice hat I love the hat, it's thin and yet it keeps my balding head incredibly warm! My only complaint is the availability of sizes. I have the large/XL and it hurts my ears with extended wear. Very warm; very tight fit This hat is surprisingly thin, but also very warm. For me, that's perfect. However, it's a tight-fitting hat. I purchased the larger size, and even on my shaved head the hat fits very tightly. I guess it might stretch over time, but for anyone with a large head and/or a lot of hair, this hat might not be for you.But if you have short hair and are looking for a warm hat that's not bulky, this is a great hat. Great quality, too small This hat is constructed well, is warm, but it is too tight and short on my head. I have the L/XL size hat and it is very tight and does not completely cover my ears. I don't think that I have an extremely large head, but this hat makes me look like I do.However, because it fits so tight, I can see it being useful for wearing under a helmet or other type of hat. tight fitting This is a very nice hat, and I'm sure it would be really warm. I love the color and the feel of it. I ordered the L/XL and it is too small for me. I don't have a giant head, I think it is meant to fit snugly. It's just not my preference to have a hat be that tight - it would give me a headache. If you are looking for a skull cap... If I was only going to have only one winter hat, I think I would pass on this one. It is a little tight, giving it a claustrophobic feel. The advantage to the tightness it that it will stay put on your head when you are wearing a hood, inside a sleeping bag, or wearing a bike helmet. It's warm enough in Fall or Spring weather. If you are looking for a casual Winter hat, there are better choices. November 10, 2011

awesome hat This is a great hat. It is warm but your head doesn't get all sweaty even when you are engaging in strenuous activity. It keeps my head warm even in the frigid temperatures in Alaska. hat size Just opened my package and put it on. Perhaps this is a L/XL for children but wouldn't fit on my head without really pulling and then it was way too tight.It has to go back despite my love of omni-heat. No one in my family has a head this small. October 8, 2011

LOVE THIS HAT! I run outdoors quite a bit and just went for a rare ski trip and knew that my regular fleece running hat would never fit under a ski helmet. Too much extra on top. This hat was fabulous. It fit under my helmet and really kept in the heat, without being too hot. Paired with a gator to keep my neck warm, I was toasty on the slopes! February 4, 2011

Great for cold days The Fast Trek Fleece Hat Omni-Heat worked great just as I expected. The Omni-Heat lining is the new norm of staying warm. My only suggestion would be to have the Omni-Heat lining come down a little further to cover more of your ears. Also; it would be nice to offer this product in camouflage to appeal to hunters. Great hat!! I got this to use in below freezing weather for snowsports (and everyday use) and this was the one piece of garment that I did not have to worry about. It kept my head at the perfect temperature without being too warm or to cold. Didn't even break a sweat or feel cold wind coming through. What I do worry about is the reflective lining coming off over time but that is to be seen. Overall, a great hat so far. January 30, 2011
Hat is very nice It's very nice, the fit is a little tight. It's warm but I don't know if it's much warmer than a "normal" good hat. The jackets Columbia sells with the heat tech lining (like this hat) def works and keeps you warm, I'm just not sure how effective it is in a hat. But it's still a good hat and it keeps me warm. Warm! This fleece hat will definitely keep your head warm. It is a nice, soft, thin fleece. The OmniHeat lining keeps you surprisingly warm. It is very tight fitting, not that it hurts, but with long hair coming out of it, I look a bit silly with it on. Still, very warm and would definitely recommend it for that. MY GO TO HAT IN THE WINTER! I am in the woods a lot during the winter time and I always find myself grabbing the Fast Trek fleece hat (out of many choices).
