Needs reflector strips! As another reviewer mentioned, the velcro on the hood is a bother. But what really disturbs me about the jacket, which we ordered in black, is that there are no reflector strips to make your child visible in low-light conditions. Columbia mail-order competitors include reflector strips so that motorists and others can see your child, ESPECIALLY IN THE DARK. I don't understand how Columbia can make a child's jacket in black--or any other color for that matter--and not think to include safety features such as the reflector strips. I am very disappointed, and always concerned in the fall/winter as the sun sets very early and we generally don't get a lot of light during those seasons. What a serious oversight. August 4, 2012
Keeps Cool Girls Warm My daughter picked this jacket for the color scheme and fabric texture. It's pretty functional and has withstood a couple washes already. She does complain about the Velcro at the hood coming out. March 30, 2012
Great jacket Bought this for my 7yr daughter for skiing. She loves it. The fit is great and the colors are very good too. The only negative feature is the inner sleeve is very tight at the wrists. I am thinking of cutting these off. Its very frustrating for my daughter to put on the coat if she is wearing a long sleeve shirt.The jacket doesn't have an inner liner, just an inner sleeve at the wrist that is approx 4" long and very tight.Otherwise a perfect jacket for a little girl. Great for skiing and she wears it all the time because it looks nice and fits nice too. March 18, 2012

Bye Bye Puffy Coats!!! My 5 year old HATES winter because she hates puffy coats! Its hard to buckle in a car seat and you walk like a penguin! This coat is the resolution to all of our winter coat blues. It is light weight, fashionable, and she says it keeps her super warm. Its easy for her to get on and off by herself and there aren't any tricky zippers to deal with because there isn't a removalbe liner. I also have to say....her zipper was damaged (no fault of Columbia) and I sent it in to the warranty dept with a little note and they sent us a brand spankin' new one ...no questions asked! I have to say we have always been huge fans of Columbia wear, but not only do they have fantastic gear they have an awesome customer service to boot! Really great company!!! The only thing I would say is that my daughter is average for 5 and we got her a 6/6x and it fits well....so sizing may be a tad off.... January 19, 2012
Fit too fitted for layering I was looking for a replacement for the light blue Columbia jacket i purchased a couple of years ago. I thought that the fit would be the same as my current dual layer coat that has a zip out inter coat.Unfortunately, it does not. the new style or fit is for someone wearing only a single layer shirt underneath. Something I don't do because I live in Minnesota and the temps have been completely unpredicatable. I usually need a sweater or jacket at work, and if I wear this jacket I can't dress like I want to.Also, the built in gloves are extremely annoying.Since I purchased this online and already removed the tags and wore the outer shell, I can no longer return it. So $200 is going to sit in my closet until I loose enough wieght to make the sleeves loose enough to use how I want to. Sigh....Live and learn. January 7, 2012
Perfect! This jacket is lightweight yet warm in the coldest of weather (13 degrees). My 10 year old daughter loves it! I got her a 14/16 and it is a good fit with still some room for a sweater or sweatshirt. January 4, 2012
Great coat I live in a very cold and windy city and the jacket is very effective. The pockets are lined with a very warm fabric that keep you hands extremely warm. Best investment in a coat that I have made so far. ♥♥♥ December 10, 2011

Good Choice I like the fit of this jacket. It is long enough to cover the seat and provide good warmth. My only complaint is the the blue I selected is not a true blue but has a purplish hue and the lining of the hood is a metalic color- but my 12 year old likes it just the same. October 5, 2011
