Men’s Landslide™ Hoodie 4.2 5 19 19
Good gift for a man I bought this for my boyfriend, who let's face it really likes his beer :) He thought it was the best gift. He says it is super comfortable and fits well. Of course, his favorite parts were the "beer pocket" and bottle opener. February 28, 2012
Almost perfect... I've had my eye on the 'Get Stoked' hoodie for several months, but the color & size I wanted has been perpetually out of stock plus it was a little pricey. So I was drawn to the Landslide for similar features as the 'Get Stoked' (sans 'omni-heat' lining) at a lower price. Plus, I purchased it during the Prez day sale so got it for a steal! I've been a Columbia product fan for upwards of 20 years and have been nothing but satisfied with all my purchases, but based on several reviews that commented on the funky cut of the Landslide - baggy on top, disproportionately long, and snug at the bottom and my pretty much oppositely-shaped body (short and chunky), I flip-flopped several times trying to decide which size to order (XL or XXL). As a reference for anyone else interested in buying this item, I'm 5' 7", 240 lbs and have a 40"-42" waist. Generally I wear an XL & 1/2. Which means 1/2 the time an XL fits me and 1/2 the time it's too small. Did you ever notice the sizing on XL and XXL? XL is 46-48 and XXL is 50-52. What the heck? Where is 48-50? Shouldn't that be the next size up?? But I digress... So, I didn't know which size to order, and since shipping was free plus the 'easy returns' policy and the fact that the item was discounted 30%, I figured it was worth it to buy both sizes at the sale price and eat the return shipping cost for the one that didn't fit. Not an optimal solution, but, as it turns out, a worthwhile one. So how did it turn out you ask? Drum roll, please.... The XL fit PERFECTLY on the chest, sleeves, sleeve length and hood, but as some people had commented, it was too long for me and the bottom was just too tight. I was able to zip it up but I looked like i was wearing one of those 'Flashdance' sweater/dresses (for those of you who were around back in the 80's. For those of you who weren't, look it up on Wikipedia!). So that one was going back. On to the XXL. The hood is a little big for me (for the record, I have a somewhat large and bulbous head - 7 & 5/8" hat size), the chest is a little big, but not unduly so. The sleeves are a little baggy and a little long, but w/ the thumbhole feature, they're actually just about perfect. I would be surprised if people 6' & up didn't find the sleeves a little on the short side. Unfortunately, the length is super long for me. It is seriously 6"-7" too long. The bottom is still snugger than I would like, but one thing I would like to point out is that the cuffs (sleeves & bottom) are not like a standard sweatshirt. There really isn't much 'give' to them. I think that may be why people like myself comment/complain that the bottom is too snug - we take for granted just how much a standard sweatshirt 'gives' until we wear one like this that doesn't give much at all. But, despite the length, I am going to keep the XXL because it fits, sort of, and everything else about the Landslide is excellent. Sizing issues aside, it's a wonderful product. Comfy, thin, yet warm. I just pulled it out of the bag this evening so I haven't had a chance to test it's wind & water resistance, but since it seems to have a pretty tight weave, it seems reasonable that it would be wind resistant and it has the omni-shield coating, so I trust that it will be water resistant. The bottle opener & beverage pocket are truly brilliant features. Hopefully, the idea will catch on and it will one day become a standard feature on all sweatshirts and jackets! February 24, 2012
blue color is a little misleading--but still a good buy I bought this for my husband. After reading the reviews, I couldn't resist--sounded like fun. He is usually hard to fit (6'5" 220lbs) but the XXL fits great--even the arms are long enough! The only complaint is the blue is SUPER bright. If I was to order again I would go for the gray--but he doesn't dislike enough to return. December 31, 2011
Proud to show it off On top of having a built in bottle opener, this piece has a built in beer bottle holder. The vertical pocket is genius and perfect on cooler nights when a cold one in hand is too much for comfort. The fit is slender and long, but fits me well. December 27, 2011
Occupy This Hoodie! I recently received one of these hoodies for my birthday, and I have been bragging about it and displaying its amazing features all over town, to the extent that strangers are convinced that I have been paid to endorse this product. I have not been! (but that would be nice) First of all, the beverage-related accessories are fantastic. This is the kind of hoodie the guy from Man Vs. Wild would wear if he brought a six-pack with him on his various escapades. It's comfortable: not too heavy, so you're not uncomfortable when you're indoors, and warm enough to keep your body temperature in check when you're facing the elements. And it is certainly water-proof: I spent most of yesterday in the cold November Rain, and I could have held a candle out there for hours, secure and relaxed in my hooded gear. In conclusion, I would marry this hoodie if there was a way to legally do that. November 11, 2011
Best Hoodie Ever! I affectionately call this my "drinking jacket". The built in bottle opener is nice, as is the bottle pocket. The Omni-Shield coating makes it water resistant so it is more of a rain jacket than a normal hoodie. The designer of this deserves an award. November 7, 2011
Perfect This sweater is double layered fits great and is so comfortable I do not even wanna take it off when I am doen and inside. October 1, 2011
Great hoody but... Sizing is just off. with a large at a 34 inch waist i literally cannot zip the thing without sucking it in. Like the general feel of it but... July 12, 2011
A great hoodie! First, yes this product does run large and I thought it seemed a bit long in the torso (I am 6" and bought a large). That said, I think this is an outstanding product and I am glad I have it. It's light weight, slightly water resistant and keeps me very warm. This is now easily my favorite hoodie and my first choice if I am going to be outside on a cold day. May 31, 2011
Strange Cut, Great Features I bought this without first trying it on and am deeply regretting that choice. The cut is really odd; It is very long and tapered. The shoulder/chest area is very roomy, but snug at the hips (which it fully covers). The cuffs are tiny, I have to force my hands through and cannot pull the sleeves over my elbows without cutting off circulation to my arms. Finally, the hood is the smallest I've ever seen on a hoodie meant for an adult. I have to pull the entire garment up (so that it does not naturally drape on my shoulders) to get the hood to cover my entire head, and I don't have an enormous melon-head.That said, if it fit better, this would be almost the best hoodie ever. The fabric is excellent, shedding a light rain and blocking the wind. Built-in bottle opener and bottle pockets are sweet! Also, I though the thumb loops were a great feature. zippered pockets would have made it perfe April 27, 2011
odd sizes Great hoodie, however the Large was really tight around the midsection and im a 34" waist 6 ft 190lb in shape adult so i sold it to a friend to buy the XL which i now swim in. So now i dont fit into either. oh well. April 20, 2011
Cool Hoodie I have had a ton of complements on this hoodie. It has been a cold spring and this hoodie bolcks the wind and keeps me toasty. Not to mention that it holds my favorite beverage of choice. April 14, 2011
Great idea, poor execution The idea and materials used for the jacket are great, but unfortunately the fit is unbelievably awkward. My roommate bought a size Large one that I tried on. It fit perfectly on the top and while open, but once I tried to zip it the bottom was WAY too tight. I ordered myself one in XL only to find that while the bottom fit alright, the overall length was awkwardly long and the top was too baggy.I'm 5'11" and a size 36 waist. According to the sizing chart a Large should fit perfectly, but it just doesn't. Really too bad, I think it's a great jacket if it fit normally. Now I'm stuck retuning it. March 28, 2011
Great Hoodie I bought this thinking it was "just" a cotton hoodie. This thing is wind resistant, double layered, and warm. Looks great as well. On fit it does run a bit large as I am 6'2" 180lbs and medium fits me perfectly including sleeve length and body length. March 24, 2011
Well Made I was amused by the Hoodie's intended purpose but was blown away with the quality of the material and the attention to detail. From the bottle opener "on the inside not the outside" to thumbslits in the cuff to put your thumbs through to keep the sleeves from riding up. March 21, 2011
Almost an awesome hoodie.. Weird size andexpensive The fabric of this hoodie feels like that of a koozie almost, surprise surprise. It's very soft and light weight, wind resistant to an extent, and thin. Would make a good spring or fall hoodie. There is one pocket for a beer (bottle or can fits) right above one of the normal hand pockets. Bottle fits securely, doesn't wobble around and sits nicely when ur moving around. The bottle opener is actually sown inside the hoodie, at the very bottom. It's nice that it's hidden and not just out in the openWhat's weird about this hoodie is the sizing. I'm 5'7" weigh 175 and bought a medium in black. From the chest up feel fine and actually loose in the arms. Very comfortable. The waist, however, is annoyingly tight. Like almost elastic and at least a size to small. Tried to stretch it out but still really tight. The hood is also too long. Like 4-6" too long. 3 stars because of waste and length March 18, 2011
Bro-Tastic! Holy Moely, This thing is build for an alcoholic lifestyle. Koozie pocket fits a 12oz perfect, it doesn't stick out too much or fall in so I have to dig it out. Plus, it's water/beverage repellent. So when I spill. No big deal! The material is rugged and it's a Columbia so, you can't go wrong. March 13, 2011
Great sweatshirt but its huge I would rate this at five stars had it not been for the size of the sweatshirt I received. I ordered a large and the product that came was at least a full size larger than I expected. I love everything about the Landslide, the materials used are extremely soft but feel like they're durable and that the product will last for years and the features like the bottle pocket and bottle opener are well hidden (the bottle opener is on the inside, not the outside like the picture shows). Great piece of clothing that has just about every feature I would want, I just wish I had ordered a medium. March 9, 2011
Perfect for a serious bro' down After a tough day of shredding the fluffies, the Koozie is just what the Good Doctor ordered. The pockets are perfect-- the let me keep a brew dog in my right hand, with two more locked 'n' loaded. Cracking open a cold one with my teeth is a thing of the past, thanks to the handy built-in opener. After knocking back a few, if the bro' down turns into a little bro' love, the Omni-Shield coating makes clean-up a snap. From now on, I'm not getting black-out wasted without my Koozie Hoodie.
