Men’s Lhotse Mountain™ Parka 4.4 5 37 37
Lhotose Mountain Parka Purchased this item to replace a snowboarding jacket. This jacket functions really well, but fits a little tighter across the chest than my previous jacket. April 24, 2012
Great Coat This is an all around great coat. It was suprisingly warm and the OMNI Heat liner works better than I thought. It is also smooth which makes putting the coat on and taking it off very easy. The cut of the coat is a little slmimmer than Im used to. I am 6' 150 LBS and a medium fits. It is a little snug in the arm pits and across the back when I bring my arms together across my chest. Not so much so that I would return it for a large size because the length of the arms, shoulders and chest all fit well. I guess this is an "athletic cut" as what others have refered to it as. I would recommend this coat but may suggest trying it on first in a store to get a size that works for you. April 23, 2012
Zipper pulled apart after 4 days. Chose this coat over North Face and was up skiing ( not even on slopes) and went to zip it up and the zipper tore from coat. Only had 4 days at that point. I am sure Columbia is a good product but I just can't go with them after something like that. March 19, 2012
LOVE IT !!! Immediately upon putting it on after a thorough once over and found it flawless, it fit perfectly and seals nicely. Be advised, it is a VERY warm jacket! The hood has a stiff frame and maintains integrity well. A must buy! March 7, 2012
THE Jacket Unless you will be summiting Everest or backpacking Antarctica you couldn't possibly need a better jacket. You may want one, but you wouldn't need one. Super warm, super dry, super windproof, super versitile. March 5, 2012
This product lives up to its name and does keep you warm. I purchased thee Lhotse Moutain Parka because, I live in an area that gets cold, and the parka performs excellently. March 3, 2012
Super warm! I got this jacket (first Columbia) needing something for those gnarly frigid days..Im used to more of a baggy type fit and was a bit concerned when it arrived that it wouldnt keep me warm like my old thrasher puffy jacket...was I wrong! This jacket is hot! I have already been in high wind..single digit temps and although my fingers turned black and fell off my core was super toasty the whole time! great jacket! ps- get good gloves as well. Whata great coat I bought this coat because I was traveling to the Ukraine and they had just had the worst cold snap and snow in the past 30 years. I have been in the Ukraine now for over a week. It is cold here average temp has been -20 below zero celsius. This coat has been wonderful. It has kept me warm the whole time. The inside liner is good just by itself, but when you add the outer shell the coat is almost impregnable. I have been walking around in jeans and a long sleeve t shirt and just the coat, no worries. The pockets are placed in very accessible locations. Ordering online was easy and the coat showed up axactly has planned. I will tell you that you will not be dissapointed if you order this coat. Fantastic! The size was perfect. I am 6' tall and weigh 240lbs and XXL is great fit, plenty of room without being bulky. February 24, 2012
Terrific Jacket The jacket exceeded all of my expectations and I would definitely recommend it. I typically wear a large size for most jackets; I ordered an extra large for this jacket though and it fits me very well. February 7, 2012
Warm Use - northeast Canada during winter. Told my wife with this jacket I could go sleep outside instead of on the couch when I was in the doghouse. Saw reviews on how warm it is. Down side is that if you are in a vehicle or building, it does get too warm quickly. Unzipping seems to work well. Seriously - nothing wind or temp gets through this jacket. January 31, 2012
Three defective jackets Jacket #1 christmas gift - 2 weeks later zipper pulled away from coat for about 8 inches. Exchanged @ store. Jacket #2 - 2 weeks later zipper pulled away fromt coat for about 8 inches. Exchanged @ store for store credit. Drove over an hour to same store different location that had this jacket in the correct size. Jacket #3 - inner liner right sleve sewn in twisted. Could not easily insert hand. Took jacket. Drove back to store #1 and exchanged inner liner for inner liner from coat #2. Was not engaged in any sporting event. Each time I was just walking, took off jacket, ate lunch, put jacket on and zipped it up when the zipper pulled away from the jacket. January 31, 2012
Men’s Lhotse Mountain™ Parka Blue Very well made. It may be tight for some but for me it is perfect. I used it with just a t-shirt underneath and I was fine walking on a snowy place. January 19, 2012
Great motorcycle jacket Bought this to ride motorcycle in winter. It is as good as any leather jacket on market and better than most. It has plenty of room and is extremely comfortable. Would like the sleeves of inner jacket to be a little more user friendly, possibly incorporating a small knit cuff, this could possibly make it a super great riding jacket. January 15, 2012
The Perfect Jacket Now here is a jacket for all around use. Saturday going shopping, kids soccer games and great for causual dress. This jacket comes with a Omni Heat liner which provides additional warmth without adding weight. Plenty of posckets for cell phones, keys, gloves etc. January 14, 2012
Nice jacket for the money, but a little small This is a really nice jacket for the money. It fits kind of small on me. I got a large and I am 6 foot and 190 lbs and well within the large sizing information posted on your site. It is a ski jacket after all, so maybe it needs to be a tighter fit than a winter jacket. The underarm zippers add to the feeling of tightness when I raise my arms. Since we ski primarily in the Sierras, we don't need particularly warm clothing, just good wind and snow protection and a few layers which we can strip off when it heats up. I'm confused about what to do with the hood. I thought I would be able to roll it up and hide it away in a zippered pocket, but that is not the case. You can remove it with some effort and stow it in a pocket, but I worry that it will get lost someday. The jacket has a lot of features and benefits, so an owners manual would be quite helpful so I could get the most out of this jacket. If one isn't supplied with the product, perhaps you could provide a pdf file on your website. January 13, 2012
GREAT Winter Jacket I bought this jacket because I wanted something that would keep me both warm and dry in the frigid MN winters, and it is more than capable of doing that. Both the liner and the shell are great jackets by themselves, too! Not only do you get a great lightweight jacket for 20-40 degree weather (anything above 40 is t-shirt weather for us in MN, my friends) you also get an outstanding rain jacket! This is a VERY nice jacket, and superior to most jackets that cost $100+ more. In fact, I had purchased a Mountain Hardwear 3-in-1 (Excursion Trifecta), and this jacket puts it to shame. How does it fit? I am 5'11, 185 lbs, I wear size L t-shirts, sweatshirts, you name it... and the large fits me perfectly. Is it warm? Exceedingly so. From experience I can tell you that even in -20 temps with windchills exceeding -40, and snow blowing in every direction, you'll never get cold in this jacket. Sitting in a frozen car seat in the morning, or even laying down in the snow, you won't get that cold radiating through this jacket like in so many others. Another perfect example is from today. I saw -10 winchills on my way in to work, and was completely comfortable wearing only a t-shirt underneath this jacket. I don't know about you, but I've never had a jacket that I've been able to wear in that kind of temperature with only a t-shirt underneath. Not only is it super warm, it's not TOO warm. It does a great job of allowing your perspiration to escape. Even when I'm really exerting myself, such as shoveling the driveway, I don't get OVER-heated. Open up the pit-zips, and any danger of getting sweaty flies out the window. Do I have anything bad to say about this jacket? Not really! The ONLY knocks I have against it is that the powder skirt is a bit flawed, and the outside pockets zip from the top down. When the inner jacket is zipped into the shell, the skirt is rendered useless. You only can only use the skirt if you wear the shell only, or unzip the inner from the outer. A minor annoyance to be sure, but decidedly nothing to take points away for. The pockets would be much nicer if they zipped from the bottom up, so you wouldn't have to open them all the way to reach in them, and so the snow/rain couldn't get in so much if you have them open. Minor quibbles about a GREAT jacket, and by no means should they give you pause about it's quality. I highly recommend this jacket. If you want to be warm and dry in the coldest and harshest of conditions, buying this jacket is a no-brainer. January 12, 2012
Great jacket never got a chance to wear both layers, as this time winters so far have not been so severe. Inner liner feels good and keeps warm in current weather. waiting for more cold days so that i can try both jackets. January 4, 2012
Amazing jacket! Sizing is small, but not an issue for me! I picked up this jacket the other day on sale at Sport Chek (up here in Canada), half off, how could I resist? The other reviews talking about sizing differences are definitely correct. Your best bet is to try it on in the store first. I am normally a large, MAYBE an extra large depending on sleeve length (I'm 6'2, 190 lbs), but I had to get an XXL for this style - specifically for arm length, otherwise it was fine. Now, as far as warmth? This jacket is AMAZING. I threw it on over my tank top yesterday (it was about 5 degrees F outside) to run a few errands, and I was toasty warm. Can't really ask for more than that! :) And it's definitely not bulky at all, a real nice fit despite the weird sizing issues. Looking forward to trying it out on the ski slopes this winter, if we ever get any snow! January 4, 2012
Tummy Excellent in every way, but tight in the tummy, if I gain 10 to 20 pounds it would be tight; it is just perfect right now, but I am used to a jacket with a little more tummy space. Not bad, just what I am used to. January 3, 2012
very comfortable this jacket fit me well December 30, 2011
Nice Jacket but not true to size This is a nice jacket. The quality of material is good. However, it is not true to size. The size is a bit smaller. December 27, 2011
too small for an XL size I'd been enjoying my previous Columbia Ski parka for the last six years, it's an L size, still fits, but it's time for an XL size and a new jacket, I'm 5' 11 and have gained a little weight. when I choose and received the jacket, I was sure, "this is the one" the materials and the construction and design were the ones I'd been looking for. I first tried the two pieces together and I didn't feel comfortable, when I tried each separate, the size had a better fit, but having the two at the same time, I loose mobility on my underarms. I'm sure I'm not a XXL, that will be too large, but an XL is the right size for me. Maybe a low quality inspection took this garment into my hands so I'll wait until I go to the store and try it for fit and buy it. December 27, 2011
Temperature Controlled Purchased as Christmas Gift for my husband. He loves it. He said when he had it on indoors he was not too hot and when he was outside where it was very cold he was warm. Lighter weight than his other coat but keeps him just as warm. Great choice. December 25, 2011
Fantastic Jacket! This jacket is brilliant, its construction materials and construction design are very durable and practical. The zippers are made with big plastic lugs which I like because they are easy to zip, and due to their size they are also strong. The jacket is supremely warm! minutes after you put it on you can feel the Omni Heat working and the surface of your skin will raise in temperature. Furthermore, I noticed that once it reaches a threshhold it does not seem to get any hotter which I'm assuming is due to the wicking action and aeration of the materials, (though I have not had an exhausting snowshoe workout in this jacket yet either.) The only drawback I can think of regarding this jackets design or materials is the intechange button loop system. I know this system is pretty standard amoung interchange jackets, but I feel like the button loop used to secure the jacket is a little weak and could be easily torn. This still really wouldnt take away from the functionality of the jack but who wants a torn jacket, not to mention if the fabric gets torn it could compramise its water impermiablity. Overall, still a great jacket though. December 25, 2011
Versatility at it's best! This is an excellent parka and versatility at it's best. I have seen similar products from Columbia's competitors that cost twice as much but are not as well made or as durable. December 22, 2011
Omni Heat works! I bought this jacket just recently, and although it's the only size large jacket that was too small for me, it performed incredibly. The Omni Heat worked great. It had me warm faster than any other jacket, and just the inner layer was enough for me on a 30 degree day! December 18, 2011
Everything Jacket This jacket can take it all and keep on going. Windy days covered. Rain and snow, covered. To sum it up i can handle anything that is thrown at it. December 14, 2011
This product needs changes Just got my Lhotse Mountain Parka. It's a good thing I tried one on in a store before I ordered it on-line. Sizing is way way wrong. Order one size larger than you usually do. If you take a medium, order a large, etc. I'll need to wear it for awhile to judge how durable and how warm it keeps me, but where is "full range of pockets for stashing media, goggles and valuables"? I found just three pockets total - one pocket on each side and a small zippered pocket. December 9, 2011
Lhotse Mountain™ Parka I thought the Lhotse Mountain™ Parka was well made, but it was way too small. I tried an XL first, then an XXL. The parka I have from a few uears back is an XL, fits me well, with lots of breathing room (unzipped, I can wrap it around my body with an overlap of 6 inches or more). the parka I just bought and returned is OK for my height but is way too small in girt, despite being an XXL. It just barely wraps around my body. Something is very wrong with the sizing. December 3, 2011
Lhotse Mountain sizing If purchasing, I would recommend going up one size. I was fortunate to try one on in the store but ultimately ordered online. Normally, I wear a medium, but discovered I needed a large. It fits well with room for sweatshirt, etc. underneath. Also, unlike traditional down, it is not bulky and can be used for both for workday and weekend. November 30, 2011
Colorado customer I Have only wore this jacket twice, but it seems very warm and confortable November 28, 2011
Jacket is good Just be aware that under each armpit lies a zipper that, when closed, tightens the armpit. It gives an illusion that the jacket is tight but it is not. This is just poor positioning of the zipper November 23, 2011
Nice Fit I liked this jacket; it is very warm (which was my first reason for buying this) and also looks cool. Kinda heavy but that is expected for a extreme cold weather jacket with multiple layers. Only downside is the "inner color", which although not visible from outside most of the time, is very shiny and does not go well with the outer dark color. November 16, 2011
Consider this a rave review! My Lhotse Mountain Parka is a great piece of gear. Very warm, high tech and professionally made. It fits great and looks great. I'm ready for the Boston winter and beyond. Great purchase. Thanks to the team at Columbia for a top-notch product! November 14, 2011
I'm thinkin I'm gonna like it. I got the intense red in a large and she fits just right. Ample arm length and form fitting in the body. I would be a little concerned though if I were a heavier guy. I am 6 feet tall and 160 lbs and she is a nice fit on me but seems like it would be tight on a bigger guy. Thought the red was a bit loud at first but really like now. Looks very cool with the dark grey liner, logo etc. Have been buying Columbia stuff for 19 years and this is my fourth 3 in 1 parka. This one is a different animal. Much lighter and sleeker than the others. Almost seems like a spring jacket as far as the feel goes. If Omni heat works as advertised this jacket will be great for skiing. Not too bulky w/plenty of warmth. Hood wraps right around head and it has drawstring and a powder skirt which will be nice for the pow. Side slash pockets have lots of room and can be used to warm hands. Shorter body. Nice jacket November 13, 2011
Best purchase of the season This is the best and warmest jacket I've had in a long time. The liner is very warm. I wear a t-shirt and the liner and I'm good to go out even when it's down to the 40s. When the liner and shell are worn together, the jacket feels very snug (I'm chubby), but comfortable. One is not meant to wear this jacket with a heavy sweater underneath since the jacket itself keeps you very warm. November 12, 2011
All around good jacket Got this jacket as I have recently moved from SoCal to MD and was looking for a winter jacket. Received the jacket in about three days after I ordered it with the free two day air shipping. First size ran a bit small so I called Columbia and asked about exchanging it. The representative was very helpful and actually took some off the price to cover return shipping expenses and upgraded my new order to two day air for free. I am very pleased overall with the jacket. I have already used the outer shell in intense rain which kept me warm and dry. As for the inner shell it is very comfortable and warm, perfect for fall weather. I have not had the chance to wear this jacket in the snow yet but am very pleased with it so far. October 24, 2011
