Nice Shoe Very light weight, fits perfect, I wish they where a little bigger so I could wear over my waders. February 15, 2012
Wet and dry. I initially bought them for kayaking and fishing but they become my everyday shoes. They are light, very breathable and flexible. I run in them and prefer them better than my Running Nike shoes since they are lighter and have good air circulation. Good for standing up paddling on my kayak and fishing from it since they have good grip. You still need to be careful when you are stepping on those slippery rocks by the river bank. Don't expect to have warm feet when you are wearing them because they weren't designed for it. I put on the Seal Skinz waterproof socks (since Columbia don't have waterproof socks) when I am kayaking or fishing and the socks-shoes combo keep my feet "Wet but dry". February 6, 2012
Men's Drainmaker Shoe The shoe drains water extremely well. The soles are a tad bit hard and lose grip on smooth, slippery surfaces, but work well on surfaces that offer some tooth. It would be helpful if they were offered in 1/2 sizes, as the sizing is a bit large when used over bare feet. The shoe cleans easily and dries rapidly. January 12, 2012
Finally found my ultimate fishing shoe! These shoes are the best I have ever had. Extremely light, fits just right around my whole foot, and the best fishing shoe out there! You can't beat the price and you can't beat the durability of these shoes! January 9, 2012
Looking forward to the portage This shoe seems to be what I have been waiting for! Heavier then "water socks". More flexible then sneakers so I can kneel in my canoes. I am waiting for the spring canoeing to see how it performs. Charlie January 2, 2012
Great Shoe I purchased this shoes to take over a pair of crocs. This shoe is a much better design and function from the crocs. They are super light, and drain water extremely well. I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed. December 24, 2011
wading shoes i got the drainmakers for fishing out of my skiff. they're great. lightweight, comfortable, and i used them to wet wade, and they dried quickly and worked really well. i'm really happy with them. December 22, 2011
What a great boat show. This is he best boat shoe I have even found. Great comfort, extremely versitle, non-marking sole, easily washable, durable, and all around fantastic shoe. I have tried many others, but this is the one for me. I am on the water over 250 days a year and they have not let me down. December 15, 2011
Awesome! Got the green ones and they are comfortable, light, and have great colors! Highly recommended!! December 14, 2011
Drainmakers for all... Bought a pair in the Dove color. Fantastic feel. Nice and light, but comfy. Liked them so much that I bought a second pair in Black. I like them so much that I bought a third pair for my girlfriend in Purple. I wear a 10.5 in almost every brand, but a 10 in Columbia's shoes. Very pleased yet again Columbia. November 23, 2011
a true cross over with this shoe I can leave work and jump in a swimming hole or cross a creek without a care. The drainmaker has great traction on wet rocks and feels weightless on my feet even when wet. only complaint is that it will break down after three or four months if worn five days a week. especially around the pinky toe. October 18, 2011
Drainmaker Review I purchased these shoes last week, and tried them on right away, the fit and feel was great. They were light, and the traction was above par. The assembly looked great as there were no visible defects. Saturday was the first day of wearing them in the elements. The seemed great I was on the river all day in and out of the kayak fishing. There were no river rocks that entered the shoes, they provided good traction, and protected my toes from the boulders. Sunday I fished also, the first thing I noticed is that the shoes were still wet from the day before, which I didn't care for. I used them all day Sunday in the same situations as Saturday. After a day of being on the water Sunday I noticed a tear in the fabric on the instep of one of the shoes. This was something I was really disappointed in. I would still recommed this product as it does it's jub, just be careful. October 17, 2011
Cool Shoe This shoe is a great water shoe. It is comfortable and drains very easily. The only issue I have is the sizing. I had to go a full size smaller than my normal shoe size to get the right fit. It runs a little narrow, but that's fine for my feet. Overall a great shoe, just watch out for sizing. October 12, 2011
Excellent Product! I love my drainmaker shoes, and I wear them for boating, walking around in water with muddy bottom (they do not get sucked off by mud)or general use. The water really does just drain right out, and within a few hours they are dry enough to wear with socks. They are comfortable enough barefoot, way more comfortable than Keens or Tevas. I have experienced a little chafing where the tongue bunches up under the laces. However this is probably because the shoe is too big for me. At the advice of the vendor I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than usual, but they are still at least 1/2 size too big. I usually wear an 11, but in these shoes I could definitely wear a 10. Overall, this shoe fits the bill and even if it is 1/2 size too big I'm going to wear them till they need replacement. They really are perfect for people needing a lightweight, grippy, comfortable shoe in a water environment. October 9, 2011
Love the shoes but ripping at the seem on both! Love the shoes wear them all the time!! Out side seems ripping on both shoes for 80$ wouldn't expect them to go that easy only had them 3 months!! Any warranty still available ??? Def 5 stars if they weren't ripping!! October 1, 2011
Awesome shoes!!!! I have had them for a while now. Always been scared to order shoes nonlinear but these fit just right. The drain system set up on them is really cool too. Wear them around with no socks and you can feel the breeze. I recommend this shoes to any sportsman. September 29, 2011
Perfect board shoe Great shoe for wakeskating, once your foot is set to the tape, it might as well be glued there. I was a little worried about the mesh material being destroyed on the grip tape of the board, but so far its held up to everything. Make shure you double knot it if your getting real aggresive in the water because the laces tend to loosen up. Haven't tried wading in the bay yet in them. If they will hold up to the rocks, then I will definetly be buying another pair. September 26, 2011
Get a pair you wont be disapointed This is the best shoe ever made. I wear them fishing and even have a pair I wear to church. September 22, 2011
For me, the ultimate water shoe The Drainmaker just might be the ultimate water shoe. Quick-draining, comfortable, and handsome, with multiple uses anywhere you find water. September 15, 2011
Drainmaker The fit is fantastic. I have high arches, and even though the insole doesn't really offer support, after a full day on my feet I don't have any arch pain at all. If I had any complaint it would be that the back is a bit high, or stiff maybe. When worn without socks, as a water shoe, they tend to rub on my achilles. The laces are plenty long, I double knot just so I don't trip over them, but it also ensures the laces stay tied all day on the water. The show dries quickly, grips like a salamander on the ceiling, and offers true comfort and protection from water hazards. Overall this is a great shoe, and I am extremely happy with it. September 14, 2011
Great Fishing Shoe Wore my new Drainmakers fishing and they felt great, even though it was the first time I had them on my feet. Great product!! September 12, 2011
Great shoe The Drainmaker is one of the most comfortable shoes I've worn. Wet or dry doesn't matter. They also dry extremely fast. September 8, 2011
Great Shoes I've been wearing these shoes for about a month now while fishing from a Ranger Bay Boat. The cushioned heal keeps my feet comfortable especially during those rough rides out past the Golden Gate Bridge. August 29, 2011
Great all around shoe Save weightlifting , this shoe is the best all around shoe i could hope for. I can run in them, get them wet, walk all day, and most importantly fish all day with them. They are comfortable and well made it seems like, very very light which i like and they dry very quickly. the best part is when they get dirty you can jus hose em off and put them back on again. The only thing i could find wrong is if you have white shoelaces, some of the color can bleed into them...Honestly for me i really dont care haha. I'm glad though because for 84$ i have a fishing/outdoor shoe as well as a school/hanging out shoe that looks good! August 19, 2011
Great summer shoes I bought these because I hate wearing sandals but the heat this summer was killing me. They work perfectly! I can even feel the breeze through the mesh while riding my bike. I also got caught in a flooding rainstorm and the shoes drain and dry as advertised. I love them. August 18, 2011
The Perfect Boating Shoe This shoe fits just right on my feet and feels extremely comfortable not to mention it is very light weight and has drain holes to allow water to go through. Most shoes that are this light weight have no cushioning under your feet but these are a different story. I wear these on my boat while bass fishing and these shoes keep me comfortable unlike many shoes worn after a hard day of fishing. It is definitely an item that will not dissapoint. August 15, 2011
Great shoe! I am on my boat everyday these shoes are very comfortable. They dry fast and they are not hot at all. My only issue is I wish they came in half sizes. I feel they run a bit large August 6, 2011
very good product these are without a doubt the most comfortable fishing shoe going and they dry fast to boot. i could not be more satisfied. Thank you columbia. August 3, 2011
Dry Feet at Last! Shoes drain the water and your feet dry out. July 25, 2011
Tha Drainmaker Extremely light, Comfortable for everyday wearing, and down here in Florida with our summer rains, fishing on the beach or boat, they are a must. July 24, 2011
Best Shoes I Have Tried for Kayaking They fit well, are comfortable and are fine for walking and launching (wading) as well as paddling. They drain exceptionally well and don't seem to track mud and sand into my kayak. I will try them for stream fishing as well. July 16, 2011
Great Buy Wanted a comfortable shoe that I could do anything in. I don't like wearing socks much with ahtletic shoes and these are perfect. Haven't had a chance yet to get them wet but they breathe like no other shoe I've ever had and are very lightweight. I agree that the sole is a little stiff, but I'm sure that's for the intended purpose of rough outdoor activities. I've been using them casually around town for 2 weeks and am already considering another pair. July 14, 2011
Perfect Camp Shoe I wanted a very light camp shoe for backpacking and this more than fits the bill. It is also great for stream crossings. As their name implies it drains the water out quickly and dries in short order. The fit and support are good especially considering the light weight of these shoes. I will recommend these to my friends. July 13, 2011
Comfortable Amazing Light weight shoe, perfect for wade fishing and river riding! Love the shoe and getting tons of compliments! July 11, 2011
Drainmaker These shoes are great. Have worn them for over a month now. One of the most comfortable shoes that I own. They are great on the deck, they have really good traction. Water drains right out. If you are looking for a great boat shoe you need to look no further. You also get a lot of complements because they really do look good on your feet. July 9, 2011
Not at all comfortable I was, naturally, interested in the drain function, but was more taken by a review about the comfort of the shoe for the "older" fisherman. It is, in fact, not at all comfortable for one who has any sort of foot issue or fatigue issue AT ALL. Wish I had not ordered it! July 7, 2011
THE kayak fishing shoe The Drainmaker is a fantastic shoe for inshore kayak fishing. It's the only one out there that protects the whole foot and drains effectively. I've grown tired of wearing heavy duty "strappy" sandals on the water because periwinkles or pieces of shell have a tendency to get inside the sandal and can be a pain to get out. The high ankle fit of the Drainmaker keep all the unwanted stuff out! It also isn't bulky or awkward while wearing in the kayak. Other shoes and sandals that I've worn have required me to adjust the foot braces to accommodate them. The Drainmakers are just right. For most people they fit just right, my feet are a little wider so I have to size up but they're still comfortable. July 7, 2011
LOVE THEM I love my new Drainmakers! Would think about ordering a half size bigger next time cause of the tight-ness of the shoe in the water. Over all I say A plus all day !! July 7, 2011
Drainmaker - performs as advertized Fast shipping, fits well, performs as advertized. Really good product. Stays on (because of laces) where others slide off. Wade into the lake while walking my Great Dane to cool off. Dry quickly. Also a really good boat shoe. July 6, 2011
My Son loves them Of course I am good looking! I have been satisified with all the "Columbia" products I have purchased thus far. I will certainly continue to use thie stellar line of merchandise. July 5, 2011
A great "Water Shoe," but also versatile I recently purchased a pair of the Men's Drainmakers to--hopefully--use throughout the Holiday weekend. I was not disappointed. I threw them on after work on Friday with some ankle socks and they were every bit as comfortable as the normal sneakers I wear. Then, I really put them to the test in the water for the better part of three days: swimming, running/jumping off of 15 foot cliffs, jet-skiing, and battling on inflatable water obstacles. They were great in each situation. I used to use Choco sandals for my water activities, but no more. These kept the "lake goop" out, protected my feet, were easy to swim in and were true to their promised strength: they drained nearly instantaneously. I'll be buying another pair. Do yourself a favor and get a pair of your own, but you may want to but them a half-size smaller than your normal sneaker if you're going to be going sans socks. July 5, 2011
Good They work well. I had to open up one of the holes in bottom to allow water to exit. The mesh is very thin and looks thicker in the picture. This allows for good air flow but might lessen the durability. No problems yet. July 1, 2011
As advertised The Drainmaker is a great shoe! Wore for the first time on a kayaking trip.Wonderful grip in/out of the water.Drains quickly, dries quickly. The mesh top lets you feel a breeze on your foot when walking.Very, very light weight. The size 11's were a little snug on the kayak foot pegs. July 1, 2011
Love Them I was given a a Drainmaker shoes for a special field test as a fishing blogger. I didn't give much thought to these shoes before I got them, but I have been super impressed. The very first time I wore them I unexpectedly had to go for a quick walk in the lake while trailering my boat in very windy conditions; Boy was I glad I had these shoes on rather than my usual leather mocs. I have found these shoes very valuable as a fisherman. I have a pair of Columbia sandals but they are not ideal for cool bass fishing tournament mornings like the Drainmakers. My shoes are dark blue but they stay plenty cool during a warm day in the sun, so it's the best of both worlds. Not a shoe for when it's cold, but cool to hot. In addition to the excellent wet/dry properties these shoes are light weight and comfortable for a long day on your feet casting. My legs have not been getting fatigued, nice! June 21, 2011
Looks Great, Fits Well. The Columbia Drainmaker is a wonderful, if minimalist, amphibious shoe. Unlike some amphibious shoes I had in the past, the Drainmaker is easy on, easy off. Though the tongue is gusseted, there is enough room in there in comfortably fit my 4E-wide feet. Only concern is that the sole is not stiff enough to provide proper support for prolonged periods on one's feet. But most people do not spend 6-8 hrs. a day standing, like I do. The shoe dries quickly, and I've been complimented for the looks of the Drainmaker. Columbia has a winner. June 16, 2011
Happy Feet I ware the Drainmaker when kayaking, to handle water exposure (with rocks and sands) and it is very comfortable and light. - EXCELLENT SHOE June 16, 2011
Goodbye Sperry! For years I have worn Sperry but these shoes are so much lighter and wick water away so much faster!! June 14, 2011
Got Wet? Great shoe. Launched a Sea Doo with the shoe on. Walked out of the water, it drained fast. Within a couple minutes I did not notice the shoe had even been wet. Great for water or casual wear. June 14, 2011
Stylish and Rugged I have used these shoes for running errands, standing on my feet all day fo catering jobs, washing car and white water rafting trip. I am 6' 260lbs and was surprised at how supportive they are. I treated them with water repellent/stain guard prior to first use, so colors have stayed vivid and bright...so if you're looking for light, stable, rugged beach/river shoe that you can run around in all day...look no further. June 14, 2011
All around best fishing shoes I ever had..Where them for surf fishing and on the rock..non slip...Last week went deep sea fishing and were great boat shoes June 13, 2011
