This jacket sheds big time Very lightweight, comfy but the down shredded way too much. December 5, 2011
zipper could be bettter Light weight, it fits a little larger. The zipper is very difficult to zip on and off, maybe just me had a bad one? I almost send back for exchange but run out of time ( it was a gift for someone). July 11, 2011
A great coat at a great value The Geocache has a perfect fit and is supper warm with the Omni-Heat lining. I used it skiing under a gortex shell and I was way too hot after one run. Really nice product. March 31, 2011
Cool It wicked awesome. It keeps you warm and dry while also releasing excess heat at the same time. The Omni heat really works! March 28, 2011
Great jacket This is a great jacket. Lightweight but very warm. March 26, 2011
Great jacket Bought this jacket to wear on a recent snowboarding trip as an insulator layer. Jacket keeps you extremely warm even when it was well below 0. Highly recommended as extra insulation. March 5, 2011
geo down jacket light but vary warm, good snow water repelent. February 21, 2011
TOO SMALL I love the color, however the medium was very very small for a mens size. My girlfriend was also unable to get a good fit in it. February 3, 2011
Great insulating layer When I purchased this jacket, I bought it with the intention of wearing in under a lightweight, waterproof breathable shell. I had no intention of making it an outer layer since I live in Oregon and it is a bit wet here 8 months out of the year. It works perfect for skiing and colder days as an insulation layer! To my surprise it works great on dry windy days too. Yes, the sleeves could use adjustable cuffs, but keep in mind, this is not an outer layer so the cuffs really don't matter that much. I must have gorilla arms, because I could use a little longer length in the sleeves. Most people will not have that problem though. January 14, 2011
Down Omni Heat is a Good Combo I sent the large back in exchange for medium to accomodate a slimmer fit and use it more as a mid layer than an outer jacket. I am 6"1" and slim, so the large was too full in the torso. Surpisingly, the medium did not have sleeves much different than the large. Used it skiing in Northern Utah with temps of 5-15 degrees. I wore a base layer, a micro fleece, the Geocache Down jacket and an Arcteryx outer shell - stayed comfortable. Omni Heat down works great in the jacket (omni heat gloves under same conditions were freezing!). The same set up in 20 degree weather was too toasty. I agree with prevous comments that the down sheds more than it should. I suggest a better shell material for the jacket. January 9, 2011
Nice Down Jacket I ordered this jacket without trying it on since it was not available at any stores. Going off the the reviews I ordered my usual size. In my opinion I thought it was a little roomier than what I am use to but overall it still fits. As another reviewer had mentioned I would have liked adjustable cuffs since the sleeves are a little long. Otherwise the jacket is lightweight and keeps me warm as you would expect a down jacket to do. It was a great insulating layer under my shell and compressed as expected so it did not feel bulky. Great Jacket!!! I work for REI, we don't carry this jacket at our location, but we do carry other Columbia products. I was purchasing a Columbia 3 in 1 jacket, when I spotted this jacket online. I loved the colors and was looking to purchase a down jacket, too. I bought this jacket without actually seeing it, first. The color is bright blue. I love the color. The comfort collar is so soft. I had a customer come into the store looking for this jacket for her son, as a Christmas gift. It was between this one and another one by a different vendor. When I brought my jacket out of the break room to show it to her, she was sold. We order it, right there at the customer service counter. It's warm, soft, lightweight and the color is beautiful Only thing I would have added, was an adjustable cuff on the sleeve. It fits true to size with room for layering. December 24, 2010
best warm layer ever! 20 degree weather with wind and snow was bearly noticable. jacket offers extra warmth and is very light weight. Wore it under water-proof outer shell and stayed out hunting from pre-dawn to after dark and NEVER once felt cold. Way to go Columbia! December 22, 2010
warm but bad quality while the jacket is very warm, it sheds much of it's down lining very easily. You're better off getting a different jacket December 15, 2010
Fill Shedding I find this jacket to shed more feathers/fill than acceptable. December 6, 2010
The title is fine The omni-heat really works. I can't really tell a difference between being inside and walking outside. The only parts on my body I feel cold is anywhere but my chest area and arms. November 30, 2010
