Different colors I love these pants and wear them year round. They are so comfortable, light and I love the pockets for phone and wallet.I just wish there were more colots to choose from...I have both colors and need more. December 10, 2012
Very versatile I wore these pants on a recent offshore trip where the temp at the dock was below 60 and the temps on the water gut up past 80. Pants were comfortable and performed well in both environments. I did not detach the legs when the temperatures got hot but the pants were still comfortable. November 23, 2012
Good quality product THis is my second pair. Size is right on. I got 34x34. October 19, 2012
I liked them, but this product needs a revision Over all these we're very well made. They were comfortable in a high humidity region. Two things I did not like about this product was the shallowness of the forward pockets and the bellows of the cargo pockets. The bellows of the cargo pockets bellow forward and snag on things. The design should make them bellow to the rear. If the cargo pockets were sown on the opposite sides they would be perfect. October 8, 2012
Protected These pants are very functional. From strolling around town to combat fishing, these pants have you covered. They protect your legs from those harsh sunny days, while hiking down the trail, and when landing a large fish while kayak fishing.Comfortable, roomy, and tough! October 4, 2012
Greatest Pants Ever. Stood up to the worst I could throw at it during a week long fishing trip. Stayed comfortable, and dry the entire time. Greatest pants ever. September 24, 2012
Great Pants! My favorite pair of pants! Columbia did not take any short cuts making these pants! The Zip-Off feature is fantastic and not cheaply made. September 16, 2012
Husband LOVED the Blood & Guts Shorts so why not try the zip pants too? He loves loves them both, thank you! September 1, 2012
Comfortable and very practical Really happy with these pants for use offshore in hot climate. Very easy to add or subtract the lower leg extensions. No foul ups with the zippers (yet). Sizes run a little big (as others have warned already). Mine are good at the waist but a tiny bit too long in the leg. Pockets are quite deep which is important because I carry a notebook which sometimes pops out of other trouser pockets. Good UV protection and felt cool in harsh sunlight. August 28, 2012
a week in the wind river range Great product i wore two pair of these for a week fly fishing in Wyoming's wind river range. I did not take waders made it easy to zip off the bottoms and put on my keen's and get after the fish.I like the fit and the look of them the stain resistance seemed to work well. August 13, 2012
Great for camping and fishing These pants are fantastic if you live an active outdoor lifestyle and want something that can keep up. I do a lot of hiking, camping, and fishing in Alaska and these pants have quickly become my favorite pair to wear. Lightweight fabric makes them comfortable and easy to pack, they also dry very quickly which is perfect for a day of fishing or in case of unexpected rain. These pants live up to their name and really fight off stains. After several days of camping and cleaning fish they remain clean enough to wear in public when I finally make it back to town. If you are looking for versitile pants that can take a beating, this is it. August 9, 2012
so light ! other than needing to hem them because of my short legs these are great ! they are so lightweight and comfortable i have a hard time taking them off . going to have to order a few more pairs for sure ! zippered legs are very functional and easy to get on and off. August 8, 2012
WAY too small These pants are really nice and excellent quality. After reading the reviews, however, I ordered a size larger than my regular size 10 and the 12s were still WAY too small. I would call myself an average build and all my other pants are a size 10 so I would have to go with a 14 next time. Other than the size they seem great. August 5, 2012
Purchased for travel I have not worn my new Columbia "Blood and Guts" Convertible Pants yet. These were purchased for a trip to Malaysia. My daughter, who lives in Malaysia suggest these for a comfortable, light weight pant to fit the weather in Asia. We will be doing a lot of traveling...some places I can wear shorts...other require long pants. These should be perfect! July 24, 2012
PFG Pants Very nice pants, very good fit, and very comfortable. Looking for more colors. These pants are great for everyday wear. July 23, 2012
No Room in Crotch! Buyer Beware! This otherwise excellent product which is supposed to be designed for very functional, flexible active use as a light weight convertible pant with many extra pockets, falls entirely flat if you are a very active mature male with the normal need to have comfort all around including in the crotch. Normal pants have 11" crotch space which usually is ample and necessary. These pants have an unadvertised 10" crotch forcing the wearer either to wear their pants too low and/or suffer a potentially very uncomfortable too tight fit just where you need the most comfort. To sit in these without pulling them down one risks an embarassing discomfort in your groin area.I don't know who could wear these other than the slim not fully matured adolescent. Know before you order! July 22, 2012
Great Pants! Blood and Guts pants have met all of my expectations! True fit, light weight and functional. Will likely acquire another pair in the tan color. Especially like the "use your own" belt feature vs. the built-in variety. NO regrets! July 9, 2012
Great for travel I use these pants for travel as they are so versatile and functional. I am able to use them year round and in all weather. The pants are quick drying, easy to convert to shorts and return to long pants and durable. They fit nearly all my needs and I rarely travel with more pants than just a couple pair of these! June 28, 2012
Great product! Fit perfectly on me. Very comfortable and easy to take off/put on lower pant portion. Would very well get the same style in another color. June 19, 2012
The product represents itself well. The pants were purchased for a hot summer fishing trip. When they first arrived it was quite apparant the material would be great in the sun. What we didn't expect was that the pants would run one size smaller than the chart represented. We exchanged the product. Recieve a different size and now we are happy. I would recommend this product to anyone . June 19, 2012
Columbia Makes the best Convertible Pants! My third pair of convertibles from Columbia, all have been of great quality. The previous two pairs are still in action, a lightweight packable and a heavier weight one. The Blood and Guts falls right in between the two.I'm very happy overall with the pants. The only thing I'd change would to be to make the standard pockets deeper. June 3, 2012
Jack01 Excellent product and user friendly web site for shopping. It's hard to believe that you couldn't manufacture these in the USA and still make a nice profit. I'd buy alot more if you did that. May 17, 2012
Great convertible pants and shorts great fit , very comfortable and a good value.I would recommend these to any outdoor type person or even just those who enjoy long walks outside May 13, 2012
the only way to go from early morning thru the afternoon and on into the evening these pants/shorts do it all April 19, 2012
great multi use product These fit well and dry extremely fast. Love the convertable feature as well. Only issues are the front pockets slant so much they are nearly useless since stuff falls out just sitting down. Also, Mesh rear pocket (or mesh pocket of any kind) is a very bad idea. Keys, pocket knives, pens, nail clippers, anything sharp or even stick matches poke right through the mesh , cause a hole, and you have no pocket. Sewing up the hole is no good either since it's still mesh. I had my wife sew some good material on mine. Works MUCH better. April 2, 2012
Great wear and fit! These pants are ideal for my outdoor adventures and yard work at our home in Flagstaff, AZ. This is my second pair. Love 'em! February 25, 2012
No Blood and Guts, no glory! The UV protection offered by these pants is outstanding. They also offer very good stain resistance. February 12, 2012
nice pants, pick a size appropriately The elastic at the hips allows plus or minus an inch. If you have no butt, well, bless you. If you have a big butt like mine, definitely go up a size in the waist. While you are at it, go up an inch or two on the inseam since they run a little short and they do shrink. Unfortunately, in my case they don't make such a tall size. January 5, 2012
Just what I needed Due to several abdominal surgeries I can only comfortably wear pants with elastic waste bands. Have you ever tried to find a decent looking pair of pants with elastic. It's next to impossible. These pants fit the bill. I like the style and comfort. Thanks for giving me an alternative to my workout cloths. January 3, 2012
This product has great functionality My husband and I take several trips a year. He is warm blooded and really likes the fact that the pants convert so easily to shorts. The material folds easily, doesn't wrinkle, and is very lightweight when placed in a purse or travel bag.I do wish they were offered in a wider variety of colors. I would definitely purchase several more pairs for him. December 31, 2011
Perfect Pants for Outdoors My decision was not wrong to chose these pants. I'm a backpacker of pilgrimage (Ohenro) in Shikoku, Japan. Have to walk 7 hours everyday in countryside and low mountains, rain or shine. They're good in water and liquid resisting. The only one drawback is that the front zipper doesn't go low enough for peeing while some gears wrap around the waist. November 23, 2011
SEA travel I jsut returned from a trip to South East Asia where I wore the convertible pant and they performed perfectly. Wicked away the sweat, pant legs zipped off and on easily. These are the greatest travel garments EVER! I also had another pair of back country convertible pants and wore the Blood & Guts Superlight LS shirts. All were great. I will be purchasing more Columbia sportswear. November 20, 2011
Nice pants Fit is as advertised, like the way the pockets are laid out. November 9, 2011
nice pants thin fabric--may not break the wind October 6, 2011
Outstanding Pants-Great Quality These are awesome pants, I have several other types of Columbia pants and they are the same. Living in Florida and working in Saudi Arabia were it's very hot all the time it's important to have fabric that breathes and made of great quality to hold up to the intense heat. If you want to look good, feel comfortable and not have to replace your clothes all the time then buy Columbia September 3, 2011
Comfortable fit I bought these for a 4 day backpacking trip in the high sierras. We hiked the trail and did a few miles of bushwacking off trail. The pants were very comfortable and good leg protection when walking through brush. I was impressed at how well they stayed clean after 4 days of hiking. The only drawback for me is that the removable leg does not have a zipper to allow them to come off without removing my hiking boots. August 26, 2011
A suitable substitute My waist is a 35 which one cannot find. So, I try to buy 34 with elastic waist insets. I had been buying Silver Ridge pants but they no longer come with the elastic insert so thought I would try Blood and Guts. They are lightweight, comfortable, and I enjoy wearing them. I would recommend them to anyone...just wish the Silver Ridge would go back to the old style. August 6, 2011
Awesome! Great pants. I am a 33 waist and the 34's fit perfect. I went on a 15 mile hike in these in mid-summer. Definitely kept my legs breathing and after a dip in the creek, they dry relatively quick. And when it got REALLY hot, the bottoms come off and you got great shorts! August 5, 2011
Great product Love these pants, have recommended them to ANYONE who would listen! July 18, 2011
just buy a pair and put them to the test 4th of july frisbee, crazy humidity and topped off with a rain storm. I plan to wear no other pants when I know I have a day's work ahead of me outside. Easy washable and quick drying. I can pack a full weeks of clothing in a quarter of the space i used to use. The big plus for me is this rugged pant looks great at the restaurant, etc July 4, 2011
you got it right I have bought several pairs of convertible pants, including one from columbia over the past 15 years. This one you got right. Light weight, but holds it shapethanks June 22, 2011
pants Light weight and very comfortable. June 5, 2011
Outstanding Fished on the flats. Outstanding pants June 5, 2011
Comparison These pants are not as good a value as the cheaper Silver Ridge II pants. May 7, 2011
Hot or Cold Great leg protection from a cool day or bugs. Then when its too hot, just zip off the legs! April 5, 2011
My boyfriend loved these pants! I bought these as a gift for my boyfriend. He is a 33-inch waist. I wasn't sure if I should go up to the 34-inch or down to the 32-inch. I went with the 32-inch and they fit him fine. They are his favorite pants. December 27, 2010
Fishing Pants I have recently purchased a pair of these, Silver Ridge II and the Columbia Convertible pants for comparison. All are excellent pants for fishing but the Silver Ridge II seem a bit more comfortable than the these October 24, 2010
Awesome Pants for fishing! Great quality and very comfortable! April 7, 2010
These are THE BOMB ! ! ! I love umkeep you money and goodies safe rollercoastering tooFlatbedder truckerJust wish EM8166 were still available September 26, 2009
