Old vs New
I owned an older Bugaboo which I loved and wore all the time, it was a mild winter coat, rain coat and spring/fall coat. Unfortunately it started leaking in a rear back seam. Thanks to Columbia’s great warranty I sent it back to Columbia for repair and they sent me a new jacket so my review will compair the old with the new. I will break this into inner and outer jackets.
Outer shell: Rating 4 stars
Good points:
- The outer shell is very nice looking. I have the Black with dark gray striping and it is very good looking, better then the old model.
- Matrial is light wieght, this could be good or bad but based on the old Jacket I will say this will hold up well.
- The hood in the old coat attached with a small zipper and one piece of valcro on each side attaching it to the front of the collar. On the old jacket this Velcro pulled off easily and was a pain. The new coat is much better as it has two pieced of valcro on each side which sandwiches into a pocket. You get twice the holding power now and it is much better.
Bad point:
- The hood feels small and is cut back further on the sides then the old coat. This gives better visibility but protects your face far less from the rain and snow. The old hood was better in my opinion.

Good Points:

Bad Points:
- The cut of this inner coat is terrible. it is very tight in the arms and chest. I’m 5’10” 185lbs with a 45” chest and the large feels tight and uncomfortable. The sleeves are also tight, I tried a X-Large and this was too big over all so the Large is the correct size. Forget about layering anything heaver then a long sleeve t-shirt. When worn alone it looks goofy with the tight upper section. The old model fit soooo much better.
- The material in the inner sleeves is not silky so long sleeve shirts drag and bunch up when sliding arms in and out.
- The Fleece is an order of magnitude less then the old coat. The old coat was very fuzzy and warm. The new coat is much thinner and correspondingly less warm. I really miss the old coat’s fit and feel it was really great, this new one is very poor in comparison.
- Sleeves are tight and too long. The old ones would bunch around your wrist, the new one is open and drops to the top of your knuckles. This may be in style with the kids but for a functional technical jacket it is the pits, keeps getting in the way and needs to be rolled up.
Over all I like the shell and hate the inner jacket. It is obviously following a current fashion style at the expense of comfort and function. The inner fleece coat would only appeal to a 105 lbs kid with no chest or arm mass. Columbia needs to do some work on this coat to bring it up to the standards of the previous models.

Keeping warm and dry
Ordered this Bugaboo to replace the original Titanium jacket I bought 9 years ago! I'm still keeping the Titanium but this will now be my main jacket.
The Bugaboo is half the weight of my original jacket but still suffers from tight arm pit area even though I bought a size larger. This seems to be mainly with the liner that bunches in the pits. Also the polar fleece liner lacks elastic cuff like my other jacket . The liner has a tendency to just slide out of the shell sleeve which makes it cumbersome having to fix the sleeve, even with the sleeve snaps in place.
Was disappointed with the only one exterior breast pocket compared to the 4 I have on my Titanium, having at least two would have been nice. I forgot to check for arm vents that my previous jacket had but due light weight I may not need them. One MAJOR nit pick is I wish Columbia would build in storage pocket for the hood! I hate having it dangling around all them time or having to remove it.
Unlike my Titanium I'm wearing the two parts all the time and it keeps me dry and warm and toasty! Wind never bothers me and I can wear a T-shirt underneath and still be warm. Coat has just enough splashy color with out being garish.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase and expect enjoying my jacket for years to come! Was pleasantly surprised when Columbia sent me a 20% coupon on my birthday! Now that I have this jacket I'll be sending in my Titanium shell to have the main zipper fixed so that I can continue using it as well.

A Great product, could be improved to Wonderful
A excellent waterproof parka with a great removable liner that I also found to be a good looking, stand alone coat. I first tried the titanium parka without a shell for my daily, early AM walk/jog but found that my shoulders were cold. This parka, with a liner, was very warm. However I like the style/lack of trim of the titanium for casual wear as it did not shout Ski Parka.
I gave four bars for function because it is a little difficult to remove/install the liner. The snaps for the arms and the velcro fastener at the collar need to be altered as they snap/close on the back side which is difficult. Simply turning them 180 degrees would solve this problem. I would also add two, below the arm, vents for moisture control much like the titanium parka.
I walk/jog without gloves and use parka pockets for initial warmth. I would improve the pockets with a thicker liner or, even better, cut slots in the Parka pocket that would allow the hands to slip into the liner's well insulated pockets. These liner pockets would also be a great place for valuables as they would be hidden and difficult to access.
lastly I would change the parka trim into light reflector trim for safety at night.

quality & product backing
well as a family we are on jacket number 4, 2 will be outgrown as thy grow through them. product reliability is great as well as the fit. Had a couple of snaps to break from removing the liner, i called and the rep sent me 20 or so to repair and just incase. above and beyond repsonse.

Even Better than Expected
The black, with subtle charcoal accents, is nice enough to wear around the city without looking like it only belongs on the trail or slopes. The unexpected surprise was how nice the inner fleece jacket was. There was no picture online, and I was very happy to see the inner layer functions as a handsome charcoal fleece with black yoke. Even when worn together, the layers do not look bulky. These pieces will handle just about any weather condition from fall through spring.
Customer service from Columbia was great. I ordered near Christmas and was upgraded, at no additional charge, to express shipping. The jacket arrived in 2 days.

Perfect Jacket!
Perfect amount of pockets, great fit, warm jacket! My boyfriend is super picky and he loves it. The fleece liner makes for a great fall jacket as well!

The Bugaboo is perfect
This coat was my son's Christmas present. He walks to work and did not have a warm coat. I don't think he's taken it off since he got it. My older son got one over 10 years ago and it wasn't until I got the new one that I discovered that the fleece my older son left at the house when he went to college (and I have been wearing since) is the lining...great long lasting quality!

Living in the U.P. of Michigan
Pertaining to the chill of winter this jacket is excellent. One of my complaints is that the fleece is a little short, I am quite tall. The only other complaint that I have is that there were some stray strands of thread.

jacket looks very cool, feels warm
I'm taking this jacket on a hiking trek to Patagonia (El Torre del Paine) in January. Lots of wind. Even more rain. I'll let you know how it works!
This will also be my snowboard jacket of the winter.

Returned Item: Not suited for upscale business environment outdoors
This is a fine jacket. It is functional for an outdoor recreational jacket. I am an equine veterinarian and work outdoors in the Midwest, where the winter temperatures are quite low. This jacket did not have the feel and look I needed as an upscale practitioner. I returned it in lieu of the Columbia Titanium jacket - black/charcoal. Fit was better and a bit more understated.

Men's Bugaboo Parka
This is a great jacket. It is made well, warm (with liner), and versatile. Colors are vivid and as pictured. I plan to use it on an everyday basis and for downhill skiing.

Bugaboo tastic
The Columbia Bugaboo combo parka is the original and still one of the best. You still get much more ski jacket for the money with this jacket. The variety of colors is excellent. The fit is nice. I am a pretty big guy yet I still get a great fit, and it offers very good freedom of movement. If you are looking for a ski jacket or just an everyday winter jacket that looks great and preforms well even in the coldest Wisconsin weather, you can't go wrong with a Bugaboo.

Bugaboo Parka
I ordered this as a gift for my son for Christmas. Unfortunalety I ordered the wrong color and had to return it and reorder the correct color. The customer service was great and made my returning the coat hassle free.

wonderful garment
I found ALL the men's coats layers, technology, inner fleece linings, pockets, pull cynches around waists, etc., all to be fantastic. I work in retail and recommend these products to everyone with my highest backing.

Great jacket
I've used the jacket as both a winter jacket and rain jacket and it has kept me warm and dry. I have yet to use just the fleece (no shell) but the jacket as a whole is very warm. Using the shell as a rain jacket was also great and kept me dry. The only complaint I have is that I wish the hood was a little bigger, it gets the job done but I just wish it was bigger. Overall, a great jacket and most definitely worth the money!

Awesome Jacket
Bought this Jacket and a matching one for my girlfriend. We absolutely love them. Its not cold enough yet but we have been getting alot of use out of the jacket in the separated pieces(Fleece and Rain Jacket). I cant wait for it to get a bit colder so we are able to test these out in some rougher conditions!

I bought an imitation of this jacket at another store when my son was younger. Now that he is going off to college, I thought I would buy him the real thing. There is no comparison to any other jacket. He loves it and so do I. It is well priced, worm and made to last a lifetime. I'll never buy from any other stores again.
