Men’s Cool Creek ™ Cargo Pant 4.3 5 19 19
Cool Creek Cargo is no replacement for High Line Ridge When Columbia discontinued the amazingly good High Line Ridge pant (what were they thinking!), they recommended Cool Creek Cargo as similar, so I base my review on comparing these two pants:PROS* Excellent build* Nice substantial weight. Heavier than both that thin "parachute" materials and also heavier (but warmer) than High Line Ridge pant (which was the PERFECT weight).* Better design for semi-formal or office where than High Line Ridge, but not a good outdoor pant, especially in moderately warm weather.CONS* Too big. Only came in 32" and 34". I got the 34" which is a bit baggy, but I kept them because I needed pants immediately for a long trip. Wish they made a 33".* The fake sewn-in front partial belt is worse than useless. It rides up because of poor design. You have to cut off the fake belt to use a normal external belt.* Poor placement of smallish zipper pocket on top of lower leg cargo pocket. Very uncomfortable when walking and inconvenient to reach. Compare with excellent zipper pocket on High Line Ridge, which is large and well located for securing wallet or camera.* Front top pocket angle cuts on Cool Creek Cargo are stylish and enable easy "to access", but are not as secure for wallet or camera as "side access" design on High Line Ridge pant. Real good pants Quality is outstanding. Material is perfect for warmer climates. I have never been disappointed in Columbia products. January 19, 2012
My third pair of the same kind Can't say enough about the comfort and the fit. I like them so much, I bought 3 pair. December 30, 2011
Excellent Cargo Pants - Highly Recommended! Overall, this is a great pant - I have been very pleased and impressed, so much so that I bought 4 additional pairs after the first one.Pros:- material moves nicely and doesn't feel binding- material is flexible and stretchable- pockets and locations are well designed- zippered pocket is perfect size for storing a front pocket type of wallet and is located in a handy spot- water doesn't penetrate the material- fit is very good and true to my measurements- look very nice, not too dressy, yet not too informal - I have worn these both to work and also out on a hike- all 5 pairs of pants came with the exact same measurements and fit, which is very unusual when buying pants - this points to very high quality and workmanship- material breathes very wellCons:- very lightweight, so I'm not sure how warm these will be during winter- pants are a bit tighter across the top front of the pant than others that I have had before, but is still comfortable and nice-looking due to the flexibility and stretchability of the fabric- the included belt is not optimal as it is sewn into the waistband and tends to ride up over the buttonfly top when sitting and also tends to "relax" over time meaning that you have to re-tighten the strap occasionally (you could remove the belt and use another one if you wanted though)- only 2 colors available - I'd like to see at least one or two more colors to provide more flexibility in my wardrobeRecommendations for Columbia:- consider making these zip-off to convert into shorts- re-consider the belt design as tightening the belt also pulls the buckle to the right and looks very strange if you ever tuck your shirt into the pants - maybe just get rid of it entirely and let everyone add their own- add more colors!I have only had these pants for about a month, so I cannot comment on their durability at this time, but so far there are no signs of wear and tear. I would highly recommend these pants to anyone looking for a good cargo pant. December 19, 2011
Nice Hiking Pants Nice pants to wear on a cool morning hike. Light rain beads up nicely to keep you dry. I like how they have some stretch to them. Fit nice in the waist and length. I don't really care for the attached belt too much and may cut if off. December 14, 2011
No Brainer If the product wasn't so good, it would almost be boring how reliable the brand is. I am very demanding on my clothing : toughness, longevity, and comfort. These fit perfectly and arrived promptly. They will join many other Columbia products that are favored in my modest wardrobe. Thanks again. November 28, 2011
Nice lightweight pants My legs get warm so these lightweight pants fit the bill perfectly. I like the material that keeps me cool, looks great and feels good against me. The one feature of these pants that I don't care for is the integrated buckle. If I'm hiking I usually wear a web belt offset so the buckle of my pack doesn't go over it. The buckle on these pants also gets in the way if you want to wear a belt. I'll probably end up cutting the buckle and webbing off. November 27, 2011
I really like these pants, but I wish they had an elasticized waist as I am gainging weight see above. it says it all November 22, 2011
like them very comfortable, the size just fits me perfectly November 12, 2011
Perfect Best fitting pants I own, extremely satisfied!!! November 8, 2011
Lousy Pants Poor workmanship. Awful fit. Caveat emptor November 7, 2011
initiation into Columbia this was the first product i've ever purchased from Columbia, and i'm very satisfied. These pants are cooler than most of the shorts that i own (I should also say that these are the first poly pants i've owned), and dry very quickly. Great for summer and fall weather, hikes, avoiding morning dew, creek stomping, and casual wear. November 1, 2011
Nice pants I knew these run big, so I ordered a smaller size. Fit perfectly and feel nice. October 25, 2011
THE COLOR IS THE ONLY ISSUE EVERYTHING IS GREAT ABOUT THESE PANTS. I WAS SLIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE COLOR AS I ORDERED COAL WHICH THE PICTURE LOOKS ALMOST BLACK BUT IS JUST A SEMI-DARK GRAY. October 20, 2011
fine Just as advertised, very pleased with fit and material. October 20, 2011
Good repellency, a little too baggy Repels mud and water well. Fit is larger than other Columbia pants in the waist and has wider legs. October 13, 2011
great pant this pant feels amazing to wear. The belt is a little makes the fabric fold if you tighten it but other than that it is a great buy. October 5, 2011
Size issues The pants run large. Because of this, I had to pay return shipping. I think Columbia should give free return shipping when clothing is bought online. October 4, 2011
Amazing pants! I wear these to work, out in the field, and everywhere I go. About to order 3 more sets! August 11, 2011
