Rugged, versatile across all terrain, and extremely comfortable These are extremely comfortable, well-fitting, rugged adventure shoes. I thought the venting would engender cold feet at lower temperatures, but I manage to stay warm in cooler climes even when wearing simple athletic socks. The Techlite sole is extremely light (but stable and sturdy), and the Outdry lining keeps my feet completely dry in wet conditions. These are perfect for everyday wear, and don't miss a beat when you transition from paved surfaces to grass, rocks, wooded areas, or deserts for short or extended day hikes. They are much more versatile and comfortable than Police/SWAT duty boots, and much more rugged and protective than high-top sneakers or running shoes. Toe and heel are secure, and the sole is a bit sticky for aid on wet surfaces. I normally wear a 13D in dress shoes--I had to purchase these in a size 14 which, I must add, fit perfectly, without the need for a thick sock or an aftermarket insole. I can't believe they're in the Outlet--so buy a pair before they are discontinued! I picked these over all other competitors (including tactical suppliers) and they are phenomenal from driving to running to the store to climbing moderate mountain hiking trails. November 6, 2012
Great Hiking Boot! Great light weight boot! Fits snug and cushions the foot very well! Used for hiking the mountains of Montana during the dry season! Price was right and met all expectations! Thanks for another great product! January 18, 2013
great winter boot/sneaker I'm not using this for either running or hiking, but as a basic urban sneaker that will keep me dry and warm. It delivers on both. I'm surprised how comfortable it really is. The only drawback is it feels as if the arch is a bit too high. January 16, 2013

Light and fits well I was looking for replacement for my old columbia shoes. I came and found these shoes give it a shot. I don't usually wear Mid but figure why not.Shoe is very right and when first I slip in to it and walked I noticed it was so cushy and light. I didn't feel like I was wearing out door shoes. Shoes has plenty lace options to fit your feet and fits great.I have gotten in really heavy muddy or rain condition to see how these shoes handle but so far most rain I got pass by came out just fine.Most shoes has thick around your ankle but this shoes is thin and do not make you feel like you are wearing mid shoes December 18, 2012
It does keep your feet dry The shoe is comfortable right out of the box. Today I stepped in some dog poo and I put a hose to it while I had it on. My feet never got wet. They were dry and the shoe dried very quickly. A great product. December 17, 2012
Awesome Fast and Light Wish I'd found these earlier in life. Feels like high-top running shoes. Too early to comment on their long-term durability (I wouldn't recommend for real off trail or scrambling), but they are very comfy (immediate break-in), run true to size, and are lightweight (464grams/each for size 11.5). Good size toe-box for warm socks, but are not especially wide, so get them a 1/2-size big if you have large toes. No water leakage yet. Only criticism so far is that the tread tends to clog if the mud is sticky, otherwise traction is outstanding. Can't comment on breathability. December 17, 2012

Good shoes for my "hike" to work I work in NYC and walk about 20-30 blocks per day. I bought these for daily wear specifically because they claim to be "dry." They're pretty comfortable, with soft heels and nice arch support, and my feet do stay dry walking through the occasional puddle. I haven't tried jumping in any deep water or anything, I was just looking for something dryer than my previous shoes which were sneakers. The pair I got had some marks on them, but I didn't want to bother with the hassle of returning them. I got them on sale through Columbia.com for a good price. I've had them for about 2 weeks so far and am pretty pleased with them. We'll see how they are after a few months of daily wear though. December 17, 2012
a little lighter will be better I am very satisfied with my shoes. I walk 60 mins everyday so it is best for me to have light weighted shoes.PS. This size number seems smaller than other company's product. December 17, 2012

Great Shoe! I have always loved Columbia Products- and these shoes are no exception! They looked awesome and fit just right. I work on concrete floors all day and need something to cushion the blows, if you will, and these shoes perform perfectly. Great produce and very comfortable Very comfortable and light. Excellent traction walking up trails that have small tiny gravel that would normally be like walking on marbles. Great in repelling water, all the way up to the top of the shoe - I used it to wade through water and waves and didn't get wet. That is until the water went up to my ankles! It did take a little bit of time to dry but the humidity of the area didn't help. A good blow dryer solved the problem.The only downside, which sometimes is and isn't, is that you have no feeling on the sole. You can't feel your terrain and even the car peddals driving to such terrain.The size chart is accurate. September 19, 2012

Just what I wanted These are really comfortable and light weight. I have a bunion so need plenty of room around the toes and these have that, as well as a low heal rise which I prefer as well.Really waterproof and very comfortable. Quality seems Excellent but I can' t go that far until I've had them a few months to see how they hold up. The last waterproof ones I've had have included leather and it is the first thing to get brittle and crack so there goes the waterproofing. Hopefully won't have that problem with these. June 13, 2012
Excellent Hybrid Shoe I have used these shoes for long distance hikes/backpacking as well as some muddy trail running, and am very pleased. The OutDry works unbelievably well in keeping your feet dry by keeping water out and letting moisture out. It also keeps the boots light, as the outer material doesn't absorb any water due to the way the membrane is bonded to the outermost layer, rather than the traditional bootie membrane. The shoes have a very sticky rubber that works well in wet conditions. Be aware that this means they will wear down quickly if used on pavement. I use these in their intended environment and the tread hasn't worn down much, if any, at all. The heel cup is nice and snug (not tight), with the forefoot suiting my E-width nicely. I do not slide around in these at all, and have no heel lift. The tech-lite tongue is nice and soft, allowing me to tighten the boots as much as I need without pinching my instep. GREAT shoe. Great for Everything! The first time I put these on, I could feel the great technology in the heel and instep. Seems to propel you forward as you walk and causes less drag over extended periods of time. Used in snow, rain, and just city walking too and they are the best shoes I have ever owned. I formerly used Merril shoes for hiking exclusively, but a friend convinced me to try these and I will not go back to Merril now. Bought red, pic post is correct for styling, not the ad pic. Good shoe -- wears out too quickly I use these shoes for urban hiking - 4 to 5 miles several times per week.They are comfortable, good looking and very functional, but wear out altogether too rapidly. I bought mine in late October and need to replace them already. There is some wear on the sole at the outside of the foot, but the heel is gone at the sole and I am now wearing into the cushion layer.The main problem is that the sole pattern extends all the way through the heel rather than having a good solid chunk of rubber at the heel. These shoes cost too much to wear out that quickly. February 11, 2012
Excellent Hunning Shoot! Columbia is growing up with this one. Watch out La Sportiva. This hiking/trail running, shoe/boot is technical and durable. I do not like it for use inside since the waterproof membrane makes it a bit stuffy but that is true for any waterproof piece of footwear and that is not why I bought it. In the backcountry it excels. Its sole rigidity compares well to high end light weight backpacking boots. The long laces and numerous lace crossings allow it to form to your foot and lock your heel down. The rubberized tongue does an excellent job locking the laces down on your mid foot while not digging in on your ankle. Excellent heal cup compares to some of the best european designed shoes and boots an yet my toes have some comfortable wiggle room. Finally it is LIGHT and waterproof! Nice job, Columbia, and thank you for making such a technical shoe in such a large size. Now, if only you can be convinced to try the technical ice climbing boot market. January 29, 2012

WATERPROOF Just spent the day in the Master of the Fasters. Spent part of the day in the snow and the Outdry is amazing. The boots didn't absorb a drop of wetness. (It was above freezing and the snow was melting and about 6" deep.) These are much more stable then my trail running shoes. Fit right out of the box. November 12, 2011
Used This Summer on John Muir Trail This boot was light and yet supportive on the JMT this summer--even though I am 7'1" and weigh 300 pounds. We were out 28 days and it held up not only on the trail but numerous peak bags with rock and snow conditions. Finally a light, cool boot in a size 17! November 2, 2011
