lightweight, versatile, and extremely warm in cold temperatures size is fairly true. The large is a tiny bit short in the arms for a large. The two separate pieces make it extremely versatile for varying weather conditions. It is lightweight and surprisingly warm given that. Craftmanship is good and is well designed. April 11, 2012
Excellent Value Purchased this jacket in preparation for a trip to Keystone last month. The average daily temps ran around 20 degrees during the day with some fairly strong winds towards the top of the mountain. The Columbia surpassed all of my expectations in every category. Extremely versatile and adaptable to the rapidly changing weather conditions. It kept me perfectly dry, warm and comfortable throughout the day and into the early evening hours. I highly recommend this product for it's performance in extreme conditions as well as for it's reasonable price. I believe this jacket performs as well as those that are priced twice or three times as much. Very happy. February 26, 2012
Good fit, nice features. I have yet to try this jacket out but i like the fit. It is also much lighter than my old columbia jacket from about 7 years ago. I do wish that the inside jacket would zip into the outer shell, but maybe this was intentional. I plan on taking it to Jackson Hole to put it to the test. I have confidence that it will do just fine. February 13, 2012
Good and Bad of the experience After doing some extensive searching for a product that would match my needs, I selected the Melting Point interchange jacket. The quality of the jacket is what I expected from Columbia. OmniHeat offers everything that it promises, light weight with exceptional warmth. One odd point is that the jackets are not directly connected to one another. The disappointing part of the jacket was that the style did not exactly match the online image. I notified customer service several days ago and they stated they were giong to forward to their online marketing team, but the image has not chaned yet. I was actually interested in the blue zipper treatments on the internal jackets as well as the grey waist designs on the outer jacket...neither were a part of what I received. I love my jacket, just slight on the final cosmetics. January 14, 2012
Highly recommend Wore two weeks in Breck/ABasin. Only one truely COLD day but this jacket was awesome. Very warm, comfortable, and dry. Lots of pockets. Did great keeping me warm on the couple 40mph+ wind days. Wishes...would like shell and inner jacket to be a little longer (3") to cover my bottom. Would like inner jacket to zip into outer shell. Would like a loop to attach lift tix and maybe one for gloves. Lastly would like it to integrate with all the Columbia pants. Great jacket and should/could be better for the price point. Had one issue where breast pocket inner lining got jammed in the zipper...maybe needs stiffer material on both sides of the zipper?? May run a little small for sizing...I'm 5"10, 160lbs, and had to return the medium for a large. Reviewed the Triple Trail Shell Pant too. December 30, 2011
Great buy!! I've heard nothing but compliments about my new jacket. The shell keeps you dry. The omni-heat liner looks great on its own and keeps you very warm. The shell and liner worn together isn't too bulky and i felt like i could do what i wanted without obstucting my range of motion. The jacket is awesome...enough said!! December 29, 2011
super warm Definitely the warmest jacket I have ever owned. However, the liner does not zip into the shell. This is kind of weird, but it is still a great parka. December 20, 2011
Great jacket, but still too large I thought maybe this jacket would fit me (I'm 5'7) since the web site said 30" back but it's still too large.. which is too bad because I love the jacket design and quality but I guess you need to be tall or fat to shop Columbia :) I give up on Columbia jackets.. I got a mountain hardwear jacket instead (which also said 30" but was about an inch and a half smaller and fit way better).. December 20, 2011
Awesome Jacket!! I have been a fan of Columbia jackets for a long time but this jacket is truly awesome! I still find myself wanting a heavy coat but then I realize that I don't need one. This jacket is very warm looks good and is super lightweight! December 17, 2011
Awesome Jacket I've shopped for a bunch of jackets but after reading a bunch about the MP Parka I had to try it. At first I was skeptical about the Omni Heat but it definitely works. The inner jacket gets so warm, I had to take it off while driving. But the first day I went to go pick up a turkey from a farmer in freezing rain. I was in awesome condition being so warm. I've taken it snowboarding and in 30 degree weather and 15mph winds (windchill of 15) and I was never cold. I highly recommend the omni heat jackets for the purpose of sitting on the ski lifts because your heat radiates back to you. December 1, 2011
Wet windy and comfortable I used the jacket just as a shell over the weekend and loved it's performance. The nice weight went over my base layers comfortably. Great pocket locations such as the Napoleon external for the camera and goggle wipes. Yesterday I skied at Mt. Hood Meadows. I used the whole system and i stayed warm and dry. The conditions were so bad only 20 people were out in the rain/sleet/snow/wind glory. I little fumbling with the draw strings on the hood but practice will solve that after a few days! Thanks Columbia! November 23, 2011
Top Notch I like to have a few winter coats to choose from when I go out, and I want them to look sharp, and feel great. they must also keep me warm, whether I am driving to the slopes, on the slopes, or just cruising out on the town.; Columbia has hit he mark with their cold weather coats.
