Men’s Mountain Monster™ Glove 3 5 6 6
Poor Ergonomics Just received these today. They will be going back tomorrow. While i cant speak for the warmth of these gloves i can for the fit.I dont know what kind of hand model they used when designing these but i doubt it was a human one. The fingers are very short. The crotch of each one is at least a half an inch from the base of my own. The thumb however, is about a whole inch longer than my own. I also felt a significant amount of space inside the glove around my hand. Air space is counterproductive in a glove. I liked the look of them though. So if you have short stubby fingers and long thumbs these might be great for you. I love Columbia products and believe strongly in them. This one just needs some re-tooling. November 14, 2012
awsome gloves! Gloves worked great I snowboarded with them and also used them while I was hunting in the cold and rain. My hands stayed dry and warm. February 27, 2012
Big Disappointment I've always been a Columbia fan and had high hopes for these gloves keeping my fingers warm while skiing. I figured that for this price they had better be great especially since they were made by a company that I've always equated with excellent value for the money. When I received them in the mail I was a little skeptical. Seemed chintzy. Thin, low cuffs (and I had purchased the higher cuff version) with poor quality pulls and no spot for hand warmer. I figured that maybe the miracle "Omni-Heat" might change my mind on the mountain. Had them out with me for a week and was extremely grateful that I had brought my old gloves with me as these were nearly worthless.Tried them both with and without liners. With and without handwarmers in the palm. Nothing I could do to like these gloves. I really wanted to.I suppose that if I was lost overnight on Mount Hood I would be grateful to find these on the mountain. But I'd still prefer just about anything else. February 7, 2012
Pack'n A Warm Punch! These gloves are one of the best! I don't just need to stay warm in the outdoors during the cold weather. I am always at task needing to use my hands. "I kite, I board, I blade I bad!---YE-AH!" These gloves are comfy warm, offer a great durable leather grip and flexible for tactile agile control. And Columbia continues to use their one-hand cinching feature to close and expand the sleeve cuff for a perfect sealed fit.I only have one recommendation. The gloves have a open loop sewn in at the wrist, but no security strap like previous models. It was always nice to go gloves-free for quick tasks without having to stow or chase gloves blowing down the mountain or across the lake during kiting activities. I can add my own strap using the loop, but I'd pay a little extra to already have it integrated into the design. February 4, 2012
Cold Hands I wore these gloves in 25 degree weather for a short time and my hands ended up very cold. They look nice but don't work. January 18, 2012
Works in Antarctica I'm working 800 miles from the South Pole at McMurdo Station. These gloves with the Omni Heat liner are the best gloves I've used down here. The coldest I've been working outside with these gloves has been -10F with a breeze. This is the first pair of gloves I've used where my fingers didn't get even the slightest bit cold. If (big IF) I decide to spend the winter here I'll let you know how they fare in -40F temps. December 1, 2011
