It is a great product but has a couple of draw backs. I really like the product, I also purchased the fleece version, but have a problem with the sleeve openings. I work at a convience store that requires me to wear a short sleeve shirt. When I put the jacket on it always bunches up my sleeves and I have to reach in and push them back down. Just a little more room might prevent this. Otherwise it is definitely a wind, rain and snow stopper. I would still buy it again if I had to. February 1, 2012
Excellent substitute to Gore-tex fabrics This jacket immidiately caught my eye with its colors and vent zips under the arms. I was looking to replace my pretty bare bones rain jacket because the water proof liner was begining to sluff and flake off and wanted a water proof fabric shell. I was looking for Gore-tex but quickly realized it was out of my budget and I have a prodeal with Columbia and have purchased many TITANIUM series products before and none of them have ever let me down. I've owned this jacket for 2 weeks so far and has stood up to an unusually mild winter for the north east. Blocks 30mph gusts like a champ which makes me believe higher wind speeds are no big deal. All day drizzle and driving rain have not gotten through. SOme features that make this jacket excellent are the vented zips and adjustable hood which allows for a custom fit. The brim of the hood is extra strudy due to what i'm assuming is the addition of a stiff plastic cord or some other material. this feature is import to me because in high winds and extreme conditions your hood brim will not flap around and obstruct your hearing or plain of veiw. The omni-heat technology truely makes this jacket stand out from the rest because it allows me to use it in all four seasons. I've been hiking in cold 20 nights and have never gotten close to cold when I wear my polartec power strech hoodie under the shell. Overall a great purchase and looking forward to how it performs in the rugged north east mudd season!! (spring). December 27, 2011
