Men’s Triteca™ Softshell 4.4 5 5 5
Another great softshell This softshell jacket is very comfortable, and will be used a lot in the coming months. It is light enough to use in warmer temps, and with a baselayer or two it works when the weather turns cold. The hood is a definite plus, adding functionality and warmth when the wind is blowing. Nice job Having read the hype, and favorable reviews, about the Omni-Heat technology, and looking for a lightweight, hooded, warm jacket both for layering under a waterproof hooded Arc'teryx shell and/or for using bare in my convertible when saner folks would have the top up, I thought I'd try this one. Alas, the Austin weather this year has not been particularly cold, certainly not cold enough to vet winter gear - despite there being no global warming . . . . . But trial runs of the Triteca, including top-down, windows-down freeway runs to work at 70+ in humid-damp 45-degrees suggest it will meet all reasonable expectations for warmth and wind resistance. I'm 6' but hefty, and the XL is very-slightly tighter than I'd like - couldn't fit a thick layer under, but, frankly, not likely to need one - although shoulders and arm lengths, etc. are good. The latest fad, however, seems to be tight forearms, which is the only real deficit on this jacket. Upper arms and wrists just fine. The silvery lining may take a bit of tolerance to get used to, but the warmth is great compensation. Recommended. March 3, 2013
Top notch jacket This jacket is exactly what I wanted. Fits perfectly (5'11" and 175 lbs, size medium). It is an active cut, so if you have a belly, size up. Sleeve length is ideal. Not too short, and long enough for when I'm on the bike. This jacket protects from wind, rain, snow, you name it. Omni-Wind Block does what it says it does, and is very breathable. The Omni-Heat reflective is there if you need it, and the Omni-Wick Evap is strategically placed for those high moisture areas. Columbia, this jacket is class. Keep up the great work. Amazing!!! Wow! I am a bit of a jacket fanatic and after I purchased my first omni-heat jacket I knew I was hooked; this stuff is truly incredible. The Triteca jacket is no different it offers all that you would expect from a high quality soft shell but is also incredibly warm.I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone interested in a fall jacket. No regrets Winter is coming, I think its a good investment. Really shines in freezing rain. And can be turned inside out to actually shine, perhaps at the local disco. October 15, 2012
