Not warm enough Since I live in Western WA, I wanted a water proof jacket that was warm. Because I was not happy with the warmth of this Parka, I returned it today. I also found the shell cloth picked up a lot of lint. Otherwise, I thought it was a nice jacket. I did not have an opportunity to evaluate the waterproof part of the Parka. Also, I did not like the way the sleeves were attached to the shell. I had to be very careful not to pull my left hand out of the lining too fast for fear my watch would pull the liner sleeve out and damage the single loop of cloth connecting the liner sleeve to the shell sleeve. Historically, I have purchased warmer than necessary jackets. I have found down to be the best insulator. I tend not to wear layers. The biggest problem with down is that it isn't warm when it is wet. I ended up purchasing the Maine Warden's 3-in-1 Parka with Gore-tex from LL Bean. It looks like a jacket that is warm, waterproof, and will last a really really long time. The only thing I did not like about it was there are no Pit Zips. I also purchased the Weather Challenger Jacket 3-in-1 jacket from LL Bean. Between the two jackets, I can go and do what I want to do. January 15, 2012
Warm Bought this jacket prior to a ski trip and New Years in NYC. Blocked out cold and wind with aplomb. Its warm without being overbearing. Vents in the sleeves allow for heat regulation. I love this jacket. Fits perfect, color is just right, and bought the matching gloves. Wife loved mine so much she had to get one in pink. January 6, 2012
One of the Best on the Market!! This jacket is truly one the the best and warmest jackets on the market today. Single digit weather and my body feels like it's a nice spring day. Big & Tall?????? When a person buys a parka from the big and tall section it is expected that the product is for a big or tall person. This parka witch is a 3X could only fit my friend that wears a XL in all his other clothing. Why did I waste my time and the shipping it cost me to ship it back shoping at Columbia? December 27, 2011
much improved product over the last columbia jacket i purchaed after my last columbia coat wore out after 10 years I definetly had to purchase another one fits great and keeps me warm in the winter and is a great light jacket during the spring and fall with the removable liner would you have a life long customer here thanks December 24, 2011
Great features with one downfall This is a great jacket, very warm. It hasn't really been cold enough here in Colorado except for the past few days to really give it a try. But with chill factors in the minus 20 degree range it worked fine. My only wish is that it had a two way zipper. When working outside in cold weather, some times you want to keep the upper torso warm but would like to have a little extra ventilation from the bottom. Also when riding in a car, a two way zipper would give more comfort than having the coat all bunched up at the bottom when putting on the seat belt. Over all I think it is an excellent coat though a bit pricy but remember it is "Columbia" quality you are buying. December 8, 2011
QUALITY PRODUCT WORTH BUYING My husband RAVES about this jacket. It's very attractive (he bought the blue and black, and it's a great blue), well constructed with quality materials. It's not heavy, and what he likes the most is that it is really warm, and yet, it lets him breathe, and doesn't get too hot; almost like it adjusts itself. Awesome Parka!!!! I bought this Parka to use in the harshest of conditions here in the Northwest Alaska region. It is very warm, the Omni-shield lining within the liner really holds in the heat. Normally, you would need another layer for warmth out in the frigid conditions here, but with the liner you sweat with extra. There are plenty of pockets to put your necessities in. The liner can be removed for less harsh weather conditions. November 12, 2011
