Great Jacket High quality fleece make this jacket feel great. Warm and relatively wind/water resistance. Hood has a good fit and zips up to the chin for added protection. Only qualm is the velcro on the cuff has excess material which sits awkwardly. May 27, 2012
Love it! I live in Portland, OR and I absolutely love the Ascender Softshell Hoodie. The jacket does an exceptional job in wet weather as the Omni-shield treatment shreds the water.It does fit a little big, so you may want to size down. I am just shy of 5'11 and I weight 185 pounds and I went with a Medium. Usually I find myself buying Larges in most items. The Medium fits perfect with plenty room to breathe if I'm just wearing a long or short sleeve t under.Adjustable wrist cuffs, chest pocket, warm hand pockets, and a great hood make this a winner. Great Softshell This product has been everything I was hoping for when I ordered it and more. It's lightweight, warm, and stylish. If I had to choose a drawback, it's that the velcro at the end of the sleeves tends to stick to the lining when my hands are in the pockets. Other than that, this jacket has been outstanding! New Favorite This is my new favorite jacket! I love the material, it keeps out wind and rain without losing the "breathability" that you look for in a fleece. I usually wear a XL, but after reading reviews I saw that it fit slightly large, so I went with the L and it fits perfect.Highly recommend! February 16, 2012
Almost out of the park! Great materials.... Good design... I would have liked to see the Elastic waist cinch inside the pocket and/or a toggle stay to keep the loop up and out of the way. These always get caught on things located where they are... right on the sides. January 26, 2012
I'm a outdoor writer and this is great for my work. I'm in all types of weather. This Ascender is the perfect ticket. I can get by with it on most days in the Montana weather and if the wind gets up I just slip a wind proof Columbia shell over the top and go on filming. A great product. Jon E. Best Columbia Jacket So Far This jacket came in record time and outstanding condition. This jacket is surprisingly effective against strong winds, which is very crucial for me. Also, it is impermeable against heavy rain, just shake a little and you're dry. The hood is also helpful, and I'm glad that it is attached to the jacket, unlike what I originally thought to be detachable. I am extremely satisfied with this jacket and with Columbia all together. Great Jacket - Fits large Overall a great jacket.I bicycle year round and wanted a light jacket that can still keep me warm when it's drizzling or snowing out. This jacket works very well for keeping me warm without getting too hot. And it looks good too.Pros:-Fleece interior keeps it warm.-Hood does not come off head when it's zipped up to the top.-Coating on jacket exterior reduces water that is absorbed, most of it can be brushed off.-Quite resistant to wind.Cons:-Size is too large. Ordered a small, but could've used an extra small if it were available.-When jacket is not zipped up, the pockets material doesn't completely block out the wind.Wishlist:-A llarge internal pocket. Can use the hand pockets as "inside pockets" but it interferes with easily fitting hands inside pockets.-Hood could zip off when not needed, but it does a good job of staying out of the way.Rating:-4 stars only because of the sizing. If it wasn't quite so large fitting, it would have been an easy 5 stars. December 7, 2011

great jacket this jakcet is great, it repells water great and keeps you warm when it really cold and keeps you just right when its not as cold. it does run a little big, i usually wear a large but had to get a mdeium. overall great product. October 20, 2011
