Good shorts I like these. I'm a short, 5-5. I ordered the 30 waist and 8 inseam which is just right for me. If you're taller than say 5-6 then you should probably go with the 10 inseam. I like the material and function. There's a cargo pocket on the left side. I would prefer having one on the right side too. There also seems to be a cellphone pocket on the right side but it doesn't have a closure. Overall though, very good. February 16, 2013
Poor Selection Very disappointed in the selection size. No 36" in the 10" length in any color. Is this going to be a dicontinued item?? These shorts are very comfortable, easy to clean and fit great.Only problem is I cannot get the size I need. January 11, 2013
Excellent overall The only complaint, and it's a small one, is the small side pocket. An old pair I own had an elastic strip that closed the pocket a little bit and helped keep things in that pocket. I personally use it for my cell phone. The new pocket has no elastic and I find my phone falls out when I sit or have to squat down for things. Otherwise, the shorts perform perfectly, are very comfortable and they fit perfectly to size. November 24, 2012
don't get the short length I made a mistake and ordered the 8" length. Don't do it unless you're traveling back to the 80's. Otherwise I'm sure this product is perfectly fine. October 20, 2012
Long-term User Have purchased several pairs of these shorts over the past several years. They are excellent -- comfortable and lightweight. They're durable and don't fade with repeated washings. The elastic waistband is a big plus. The pockets are excellent, especially the zippered right rear pocket is a nice touch. They look great and fit well. This is truly a great product. Blood n Guts shorts With my short and stocky statue, I often have difficulty finding shorts that are not too long or baggy. These shorts are a perfect and very comfortable fit. Great everyday and fishing shorts! I've since bought 4 more pairs of these shorts they are great, was a little worried at first about the higher knee "I'm not used to shorts that go above the knee" but they turned out to be much more comfortable then others "longer" shorts I have. Tough to find shorts that fit right... Because I am short and stocky, I have a very hard time finding shorts that have both a low rise and small inseam. I was hoping these shorts would fit the bill. However, unless my belt is cinched tight, these shorts have a tendency to ride low and the legs impede walking. Nothing wrong with the product or delivery... as I said, I am a tough size to fit and these didn't quite do it for me. August 23, 2012

My new daily wear shorts Light weight - almost feels like you aren't wearing anything! Very comfortable. No rear pocket flaps to get bent out of shape. Secure zippers where you want them.Wish there were more color selections. August 14, 2012
Great summer shorts with fast drying I ordered these as I put on some extra weight. They fit well and wash well. There is a finer cloth made for fishing which is what I really wanted, but I find these to be an excellent fit, great finish and they look well. Did I mention... I don't iron, and that is what I expect in my hi-tech clothing. August 7, 2012
Blood and Guts lives up to the name and then some. I've owned the blood and guts before and liked them for there reputation of stain resistance and my new ones were put to the test yesterday. Not only does the fish blood and grime wash off after a day of extreme fishing but somehow when I wore these shorts for the first day I somehow got grease on them from the seat post in my boat. After the day of fishing I through them in the wash and crossed my fingers that the grease smear would come out and I can honestly say that when I pulled these shorts out I couldn't find any trace of grease whatsoever on these shorts.WOW! You can bet that there will be more bought in the future. July 30, 2012
Sizing is inconsistent I realy love these shorts. Very cool and comfortable and easy to clean fish mess off. The ony beef i have is same with a lot of Columboa products. I have been wearing size 38 in these shorts for some time. I order new ones in 38 and the are way too tight. Had to order 40 to get same fit. I find this too much and frustrating with Columbia July 14, 2012
Blood and Guts forever. First pair of "blood and Guts"shorts. Wore them for two weeks straight while fishing the rivers of northern New Hampshire. They are great for wading because they do not hold water and dry extremely fast. They don't stain and look good enough to wear for casual attire. I plan on purchasing another pair. My only suggestion would be to taper the leg otherwise a great product and performs as advertised. July 12, 2012

Great to start I've only had these shorts for about a week, but as soon as I put them on they became my favorite. They are super light breathable and water just bounces off of them. They also have the 8" inseam which is perfect if your a little bit shorter and you want something that you can move in. I'm 5'7" and sometimes its a little hard not to find something that hangs over my knee and makes me look ridiculous.The one draw back has got to be the depth of the pockets. WAY to shallow! My phone falls out if I just sit down, very annoying. But for shorts that I can wear everyday and run in. its not so bad.I have yet to try out the "blook'n'guts" feature, but hopefully things will just bounce off, because lord know I'm a slob. As good as it gets! This is my 3rd pair of Blood-N-Guts shorts and they are awesome! The stain resistance is as advertized, amazing! Little details like the "D" ring come in handy when tying knots or looking for a place to tie the trolling motor remote. Very durable! June 10, 2012

very short I wasn't able to use these shorts so my review is solely on fit, not on performance or quality. The 8" inseam, only one available at the time, is really short. Put it this way they were barely an inch longer than my boxers. Also the two main pockets were very small, I could barely fit my hands in them. The waist fit correct but that was about it. The shorts were 30" x 8" perhaps the 10" length would be better but they never seem available. April 5, 2012

Nice style, light, and comfortable I have five of the Blood and Guts shorts. The 8-inch inseam is perfect since I'm 5'-7" and shorts with longer inseams look goofy on me. The product is extremely comfortable to wear, plus the two back pockets and the front-left cargo-style pockets always get used. I appreciate the variety of colors, as well. October 14, 2011

Cool shorts I am a female and I enjoy wearing these shorts! They are roomy and super comfortable. The fabric dries really quickly. I bought them for hiking but I find myself wearing them pretty much everywhere. The 8" inseam is a good length for women as it hits me just above the knee.I love the side pocket with velcro to put my ID and cash in so I don't have to carry a purse. July 10, 2011

Best shorts ever made! I am a full-time fishing and hunting guide on the Texas Coast. I clean more fish in a week than most folks clean in years. These shorts do not stain. They keep me looking nice for my customers without blood stains. If they had a downside (which they don't) it would be far outwieghed by the anti-staining features. December 28, 2010

Slime Proof During a recent magazine assignment, I wore my Blood and Guts shorts while fishing for big bull reds in North Carolina. The lightweight material kept me cool and comfortable, but the ultimate test came after holding a big slimy bull for a photograph. The front of my shorts were covered with slime, yet they dried quickly afterwards. When I later washed them, all evidence of the slime was gone and the shorts are as good as new. I'm very impressed with quality and performance of these shorts and I've already bought a couple more pairs. For hardcore fishing, the Blood and Guts are "the Bomb." October 10, 2010
Short legs The waste is good, the material is good, the features are great, but the legs on too short. These shorts come to above my knees. I can see how shorter legs would benefit fishermen, but they are just not comfortable. I wish the cut on these shorts is similar to the casual shorts. August 10, 2010
Ok The fit is more tailored then the Silver Ridge II. Good for some but I have thick thighs so had to return them. I ordered these for the fabric and dark sage color which I liked. However, I found the features not has useful as the Silver Ridge II. I prefer deeper front pockets to prevent stuff from falling out when you sit. The zipper on the back pocket was getting caught on its flap cover. June 9, 2010

How to measure
- Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
