excellent shoe As a fishing guide i am on the water almost daily. These shoes always come with me. They help keep fatigue low from long days on the water.And work just as well as a day to day sneaker. The only thing i would change is the fact that water comes up from the drain holes if you step on wet grass or puddles. But on a boat and on the water these shoes are great! January 24, 2013

Best shoes I've owned Hands down. Picked up a couple pairs of these for $20 apiece at Columbia's outlet. Took a pair to China to trek around, from hiking and climbing mountains, to playing soccer, to dressing up in Shanghai. Okay, maybe they aren't suited for the last one, but I ended up refusing to wear any other shoes. These are the most comfortable and durable. I don't fish, but they are perfect for running, exercising, and just wearing everyday for every need. December 3, 2012

DRAINMAKERS ARE THE BEST WE'VE EVER USED!! I purchased two pairs of the Men's Drainmaker boat shoes for each member of our fishing team at the beginning of the year, in hopes they would make it through a rigorous tournament fishing schedule. Not only did they make it through, we found they are the best boat shoes we've ever used, and all six pair are ready for use in the 2013 season as well!!!The Drainmakers are light, comfortable and dry quickly. My Drainmakers I'm a kayak Fishing guide with Black River Outdoors Center from Pawley's Island, SC. I have tried many different types of water shoe but the Drainmakekers have been the ticket. At times I hop out of my kayak and walk around the salt marsh. The soles are sturdy and the oysters dont cut through them. When I'm walking in the pluff mud and sink down knee deep, the mud never sucks my drainmakers off. They fit perfect and I dont think I will ever use another water/boat shoe. Drainmakers are a perfect match for me. The are also very good looking and light which makes them that more comfortable. Thank you for making such a great shoe. September 19, 2012

Great Boat and Water Shoe I use these shoes primarily at the beach and in the boat. They have excellent traction on the wet surfaces of the boat and provide confidence when jumping out on shoals and at the launch ramp.Sand will get down in the shoe but a good rinse with the hose and they are ready for tomorrow. Drainmaker - great boat shoe I do a lot of sailing, some of it in very wet conditions. Although I have sailing shoes from manufacturers that specialize in sailing footware, the drainmaker is actually a better wet condition shoe. It grips very well and protects the feet without weight. And if the conditions are really sloppy it does drain pretty well too. I have worn them off the water and they are fine for short walking excursions, but lack the support necessary to be a trail shoe. As a boat shoe, however, they are impressive. September 4, 2012

Light weight and good quality water shoes, about half a size bigger than the stated size A quality product, does its functions well. I was looking for a pair of quality water shoes to kick around, fishing, and go to the beach. Opted for the Powerdrain without the shoelaces first because it was a newer and supposedly improved product, but my size was out of stock for that. Maybe it is better it happened this way because the shoelaces probably help the shoes fit better because the shoes feel like it was a half a size bigger than what it sizes for. Will get the Powerdrain next because I am pretty happy with my Drainmaker. August 4, 2012

Very nice water shoe This shoe preforms just as described. It sheds water very fast and leaves the foot feeling dry in no time at all. I was very surprised at how light and comfortable this shoe is. Perfect! I bought the Drainmaker for a trip to the mountains to enjoy some great waterfalls and family tubing trips on a couple of different rivers. Great Purchase We bought the shoes for our honeymoon in Costa Rica. I can honestly say this is one the best vacation purchases I have EVER made! The shoes work exactly as advertised. We brought our shoes on every excursion that we went on and I never felt like I was going to slip while walking on wet rocks or even walking down steep wet hills. The shoes dry out relatively quickly and are comfortable. I agree with the other reviewers that they run a little big so I would get them 1/2 smaller than you normally where. It is also better that they fit snug. I would recommend this product to anyone that will need a sneaker to hike and walk through water, rocks, hills etc. As a matter a fact I recommended the shoes during our honeymoon! Great product! Drainmakers... This will be the second pair of "Drainmakers" I have purchased. The first pair was a little large on me, but I wore them anyway for over 6 months as they were great! I recently purchased a new pair in a smaller size and they fit perfect! Biggest problem is that the shoes take very long to dry. If it is sunny out I leave them out to dry and they are ok, but if it is late in the day they develop a terrible odor and have to be washed thoroughly.Other than that they are great! June 3, 2012
Performed beyond expectations Living on a lake and working in the film business, I had an opportunity to put these shoes to the test. They performed perfectly at home, in South Padre, and on the Paluxy River. They dry quickly and provide great footing on rock. My only complaint is they come untied easily but that is easily handled by tying a double knot. They are so light, I wonder about their durability. Hope they last as I have had them less than a month. Over all they are great. June 2, 2012

Great Service I purchased these shoes for a backpacking trip to Kauai, Hawaii in May 2012 - so I have not used them for my intended purpose as yet. The quality of service from Columbia has been great. I ordered a pair sized for me - I thought - but, when they arrived, they were a little large. Sending them back was NO problem. Great shoe! I bought these shoes to use while fishing offshore on a boat. It's normally pretty wet and slippery, and you stub your toes on the boat a lot. Even though I've yet to use it for that purpose, I've fished them on a rocky shoreline. They're great getting a grip on slippery rocks. They're very comfy and super light. They look great as well. I need to get them dunked and see how they dry while being worn. But I definitely recommend these shoes. February 28, 2012

Wet and dry. I initially bought them for kayaking and fishing but they become my everyday shoes. They are light, very breathable and flexible.I run in them and prefer them better than my Running Nike shoes since they are lighter and have good air circulation.Good for standing up paddling on my kayak and fishing from it since they have good grip. You still need to be careful when you are stepping on those slippery rocks by the river bank.Don't expect to have warm feet when you are wearing them because they weren't designed for it. I put on the Seal Skinz waterproof socks (since Columbia don't have waterproof socks) when I am kayaking or fishing and the socks-shoes combo keep my feet "Wet but dry". February 6, 2012
Men's Drainmaker Shoe The shoe drains water extremely well. The soles are a tad bit hard and lose grip on smooth, slippery surfaces, but work well on surfaces that offer some tooth. It would be helpful if they were offered in 1/2 sizes, as the sizing is a bit large when used over bare feet. The shoe cleans easily and dries rapidly. January 12, 2012

a true cross over with this shoe I can leave work and jump in a swimming hole or cross a creek without a care. The drainmaker has great traction on wet rocks and feels weightless on my feet even when wet. only complaint is that it will break down after three or four months if worn five days a week. especially around the pinky toe. Drainmaker Review I purchased these shoes last week, and tried them on right away, the fit and feel was great. They were light, and the traction was above par. The assembly looked great as there were no visible defects. Saturday was the first day of wearing them in the elements. The seemed great I was on the river all day in and out of the kayak fishing. There were no river rocks that entered the shoes, they provided good traction, and protected my toes from the boulders. Sunday I fished also, the first thing I noticed is that the shoes were still wet from the day before, which I didn't care for. I used them all day Sunday in the same situations as Saturday. After a day of being on the water Sunday I noticed a tear in the fabric on the instep of one of the shoes. This was something I was really disappointed in. I would still recommed this product as it does it's jub, just be careful. October 17, 2011
Cool Shoe This shoe is a great water shoe. It is comfortable and drains very easily. The only issue I have is the sizing. I had to go a full size smaller than my normal shoe size to get the right fit. It runs a little narrow, but that's fine for my feet. Overall a great shoe, just watch out for sizing. October 12, 2011
Excellent Product! I love my drainmaker shoes, and I wear them for boating, walking around in water with muddy bottom (they do not get sucked off by mud)or general use. The water really does just drain right out, and within a few hours they are dry enough to wear with socks. They are comfortable enough barefoot, way more comfortable than Keens or Tevas.I have experienced a little chafing where the tongue bunches up under the laces. However this is probably because the shoe is too big for me. At the advice of the vendor I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than usual, but they are still at least 1/2 size too big. I usually wear an 11, but in these shoes I could definitely wear a 10. Overall, this shoe fits the bill and even if it is 1/2 size too big I'm going to wear them till they need replacement. They really are perfect for people needing a lightweight, grippy, comfortable shoe in a water environment. October 9, 2011
