Bad cut Really oddly cut shorts and they don't fit in the front (too tight in front) yet the back waist band and butt area is huge. Returning them due to poor cut. (note - three of us about the same size tried these - and all of us decided to just return them even though we have to pay for return shipping. They would never get worn.If they do fit you - the construction and material seemed great! April 8, 2013

Griphoist short Great short. Everything I was looking for except the fit. These shorts claim 10" inseam but fall well above the knee on me and I am just over 6 feet tall. December 12, 2012

TOO LONG FOR ME... I know they offer two lengths 10" and 12" but I have tried the 10" length and it is still longer than I like. I have been buting Columbia for about 5 years, and what I liked always was they offered great styles in various lengths. I NEED 8 or 9 " only. In this model 9 " would be great. I'n 5'9" and my legs are not that long... I have a 30 or 31 inch inseam but I prefer shorts worn to the top of my knee and no longer... Longer shorts make me look even shorter than I am... I'm not that short but my height is mostly in my body length not my legs... thanks November 28, 2012

Great Shorts These are great, durable shorts that fit well....can't find them at REI any longer?? so ordered directly online from Columbia September 11, 2012

To small in larger sizes All though Griphoist shorts are very well made there sizing in larger sizes may be to small for most. Comparing a size 42 in both the no longer available Lander shorts and the Griphoist shorts there was a difference in rise of 15" to 12" respectivley. Which makes for a lack of room in the seat. I would not recomend these shorts in larger sizes. September 7, 2012

How to measure

Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
