Really great shoes for fishing, or for anything wear comfort is important. Bought a pair of these before and they lasted along time and were very comfortable and quiet in my boat while fishing, so I just bought another pair. January 2, 2013

Great shoe This is an excellent water shoe. Light as a feather and well constructed. the strap on the heel seemed a little much, but found out it is very handy when putting on the shoes so as to loosen and makes entry of the foot easy.Only complain is that either the shoe runs a little small, or my foot size has changed a bit. I really want to like them I had an older pair of Columbia water shoes (I dont know the model name) that are my all time favorite shoe ever. I wore them almost daily due to the comfort and coolness. I was trying to find a replacement for them with this shoe. I also looked at some similar Salomons.The Outpost Hybrids dont cut it, unfortunately. I do like the fact that the mesh is backed with a thin translucent layer of material inside the shoe---this keeps dirt and debris from getting inside the shoe. My old shoes did not have this feature, and was my biggest complaint about them, other than material around the foot entry tearing.But on these new Outposts I have a few issues--- I dont like the laces--- instead of the stretchy bungee-style lace material, this shoe has more of a "cord" material. The shoes are difficult to lace and unlace. The shoes fit very well once on, but they are extremely difficult to get on in the first place, as opposed to slip on/off quickly. That would be my biggest issue.I also dont get the whole heel strap concept--- it really serves no function that I can tell. it looks cool, and that made me think it had a useful function or made the shoe fit better or easier to get on and off--- but unfortunately, it does not.Finally, the sole is too "squishy"--- I feel like I'm walking on a pocket of air---think of trying to walk inside a large inflatable "moon walk" for kids. My first thought when walking with them was those old "moon boots" from the 80'sThe shoes do look very good and seem well made, although due to the difficulty getting them on, I anticipate something tearing soon near the heel entry area. I hope to find another pair of Columbias more like my old favorite pair. July 25, 2012
Great design and good idea, except ..... Maybe it's just my problem, but the design had one flaw: the elastic gussets in the heel were too small to easily get the shoe on. Had to return. I'd like to have been able to try them out. July 17, 2012
nice to find quality in a large size I bought these for the beach specifically to go in the water. They are made with quality materials and seem very durable. Exactly what I was looking for. Price was very high, but I guess that happens when you need a large size like seventeen! July 8, 2012
So far so good. I spend most of my weekends ankle-deep in salt water along rocky shores of New England. I just purchased these to replace another pair of Columbia shoes I had used for about 3 years before they started to come apart. They are comfortable, provide good support, and drain quickly. And most importantly for me, they protect my feet from unseen underwater hazzards and keep little rocks and shoreline debris from getting into my shoes. If these hold up as well as the last pair of Columbia shoes I had, I'll be really happy. June 27, 2012
Noisey shoe I have owned two other pairs of this exact shoe and they where "perfect". This pair I just purchased are very noisey when you walk. You can hear them making crunching and creaking sounds as you walk, hopefully this noise will disappear one they are broken in. June 25, 2012

For the river and the lakes. The Columbia Outpost Hybrid 2 is the third water shoe I've purchased in one year. I must say, I finally found the one! The other two, non Columbia, either fell apart after 2-3 trips, or they became water logged and didn't seem to fit the title of being a water shoe. These Hybrid 2's are fantastic! As a river kayak angler, I do spend a decent amout of time walking through shallow waters where I have to get out a pull my kayak. These shoes not only protected my feet from sharp edges, but they provided excellent grip on slime covered rock. Some of the locations I fish cause me to make small "hikes" to areas I want to put in. The were super comfortable and allowed my fishing experience that much better. They drain extremely well, and at the same time, keep the small rocks and grime out of the shoe. Hard to Love I was really excited about this shoe. When it came I thought that they had forgotten the the shoes because the box was so light. I put the shoes on and loved the feel. It was light and comfortable. I poured a bucket of water on my shoe to test the shoe. It kind of dissipated, which was neat. My foot stayed dry. I noticed that the "laces" were extremely long and flopping around. I finally had to tuck them underneath the other laces and they still flopped around. Then the heel strap never, NEVER stays in place.Finally, I had to cut the laces and tape the ends. I just keep readjusting the heel strap.I have decided to use it as my running errands shoe. Or if I am going to be near water.I like the feel of the shoe, I just had higher hopes. April 5, 2012

This product gets an A+ I purchased these Outpost Hybrid 2 shoes for fishing off my boat and for everyday use. They are so comfortable, you don't even know you have them on. When they get wet, they dry very fast so you don't get that soggy foot feeling unlike regular tennis shoes. I would highly recommend these shoes, if you are around water alot. March 21, 2012
Great Water Shoe I guide fly fisherman and women much of the summer and are in the water allot. These shoes preform wonderful, very comfortable, light weight and dry super fast. I wear them from the boat to dinner that night with no problem. Great shoe! March 9, 2012

Great Slip On Sneaker Bought these to go offshore. Haven't made it out there yet for a true "review". I have worn them to move and they are just as breathable as flip flops. They have good traction and seems like if they get wet, they would dry really quick. They fit just right as well. Definately recommend. January 27, 2012
Great trail and water shoe Took these on our anniversary to Kauai and used them on the Outfitters Kauai Zip Line Tour. They felt great and performed very well. They even look pretty cool and not dorky like some of the other shoes I've seen. No blisters or harsh inside seams like I've read about with other brands. Highly recommended! January 26, 2012
great light weight travel shoe I bought these to wear on a trip to Egypt and Rome. They are super light weight, offer great padded support to cushion the feet and are cool to wear in the heat. I have walked all over Cairo and Rome and the shoes have been wonderful! Great product!! October 17, 2011

heel tightning strap Love the style of the shoe and lightness. I bought the shoe in advance of a mountain trip and could not take them but left them at home. The heel tightening strap does not stay secured there fore letting my heel slip up and down when walking. Very unhappy after paying almost $90.00 April 17, 2011

Great Shoe I bought these shoes to wear on my boat and on the beach. I was tired of paying close to $100 for deck shoes so I thought I would try these. They are very comfortable and stylish. Lightweight, Very Comfortable High-Quality Hybrid Looked at many mall stores for a closed-design hybrid that was lightweight. I found a few from Merrill, Teva, Ecco and Keen; however, I was not willing to pay $125. I researched and found this hybrid online. I was taking a chance on the fit, and bought it unseen. The fit was perfect, the arch is very supportive, and the hybrid utility design was perfect as well. I used for one week in the Carribean, and they work very well boating, fishing, and in sand and water. In dry sand they keep the sand out. Once wet, they will allow some sand in, but a very manageable amount. They dry quickly, and the foot bed is removable for easy sand removal. I've also worn them around the house and yard, and they look and feel just like running shoes. They are confortable for all day wear, unlike any other water shoe. Great fit and easy on my bare feet! I have been pleasantly surprised by the versatility and comfort of these shoes. I wore them on a drifting trip on the Deschutes and found they stayed on my feet well-even while walking in strong currents. The mesh worked well although I found some variety of water snail (with a shell about 1/8 inch in size) kept ending up underfoot while in the river. They dry out quickly too. I especially like the inside of the shoe, it's comfortable because it isn't scratchy and irritating to your feet. The outsoles worked pretty well on river rock but perform better on pea gravel and dirt. I'm finding they're a good kick around shoe too. February 15, 2011
