Men's Ridge 2 Run™ II Pant 4.4 5 17 17
Very Good All Around Ski Pants I have worn these ski pants in 40 degree temps with light long underwear, in 60 degree temps with light running tights underneath and in 70 degree temps this past weekend in Colorado. They are warm when you need them to be, and they have zips down the inside of the legs to vent when it gets warm.I don't consider them 'insulated' although they do have the Omni-Heat lining which allows you to wear a thinner layer underneath. They are of course water proof and breathable. They will work with a normal belt, or a wide mesh sport belt. The adjustable that tighten with velcro really don't hold up the pants....you will want to use an adjustable belt.If you have muscular legs and large calves and thighs....these are great pants. Not too baggy, but loose enough. April 3, 2012
Great Fit I ordered a small based on the sizing chart on the web site. I usually wear a medium so I was relieved when I tried them on. I like loose but not baggy cut. There are more pockets/features than I can remember to close when skiing. I've only used them twice in relatively mild conditions but they performed as expected. March 27, 2012
Not Perfect I have a short inseam and these pants in the short fit a 29 inseam almost perfectly. The waist was true to size. Lots of pockets.I use them for skiing. I am an expert skier and found that the pants are warm with activity with a 260 Icebreaker on. However, sitting on the chairlift especially with a wind you legs get cold as the activity heat dissipates. The zippers are easy to use but the zippers along the legs which would be opened in warmer temps tended to let some air in. They would be better if they were tape zippers.Even with all that said, these are very comfortable and easy moving on the slopes and moguls. March 19, 2012
Excellent for skiing, Just be sure to buy a smaller size Bought these for skiing in warm-ish spring skiing weather, and they worked great. I had a thermal base layer and these and was perfectly comfortable all day, being able to open the vents on the thighs when I was too warm. Great quality ski pants all around. The one and only negative is how large these pants fit. I am 6'1" and 170, and a Medium is still almost too big, which seems nuts. I guess if you are layering with a lot of other clothing it might make sense, but I would have to recommend that you go at least one size down when buying these. I read a previous review that said go 2 sizes down, and I wish I'd have listened so I didn't have to cinch the belt on these things. March 19, 2012
Good pants I'm totally happy with these. Pockets in all the right places with a double velcro flap on the back ones to keep them from opening. Zippers on the front pockets. They do fit a little large on me, but are fine with a pair of long undies underneath and a belt. March 19, 2012
Ridge 2 Run II, excellent winter sports bottoms I bought these bottoms a month ago and have used them primarily for downhill skiing. This has been an astereotypically warm winter here in Maine, but these pants are quite climatically versatile. My occupation requires me to be outside a majority of the work week and beyond on an on-call basis as well, so I'm looking forward to their performance during a more typically cold Maine winter. The Omniheat works very well with an expedition-weight form fitting base layer; if the temp was to go much lower they would work equally well with fleece coveralls or pants. The venting comes in very handy for this configuration as well. I found them to have quite a long inseam (granted, I have a rather short inseam) but it's very appropriate for a ski boot with raised binding pedestal. I could've gone with the shorter length, but am completely satisfied for the application I bought them for. A great purchase. February 26, 2012
Perfect! I now own three pairs of these pants...blue, red and black. Although I am a female, I bought a men's small because women's pants sizes are too varied and I hate lowrise! As a result, on me these are slightly baggy, but that's ok because it leaves room for thermals or sweats underneath. The pants are very warm and waterproof! I've worn them in the snow with no problems. Love the gaiters too. February 24, 2012
Great for Skiing I loved this style and they worked great. I would recommend them to anyone who likes to play in the snow. February 17, 2012
Suprised The pant itself is fine, however here they don't show the horrible ankle patches of gray material on the red pants. I would have never purchased them had they shown the real picture of the product. I will never trust to buy online with Columbia again. February 7, 2012
Great pants I am 6'4" 245lbs. The XL fit perfectly. i think they come up slightly large which is perfect for me. Great quality, looks and utility. Wore them with one thermal layer never cold. Great vents if you get warm. Highly recommended. February 2, 2012
Sweet kki pants My 16-yr-old son loves these pants. They are a smidge big but you can cinch the waist in with the little tabs. Awesome for growing teenage bodies! Great pockets for "stuff" too. Fabulous! January 16, 2012
Good for mild snow - not wet snow The gaiters on the bottom could be deeper - for taller boots, but not too bad if you were in ski boots which I am sure was the idea. The fit is baggy, so it does not work well as a layer under gore tex pants. It has belt loops which is great, it would be better with suspenders. These pants are thin - so you need to have fleece or long under ware as a thermal layer. For Southeast Alaska - they are good on warmer snow days - but should not be used on super wet cold days without serious layers. January 4, 2012
Quality These are a great pair of snow pants! Seen a pair that were on sale, and just had to have them. The quality is great, high quality materials, nice stitching. I like the elastic system they have for tightening up the waist. works great. The omni-heat technology in these is outstanding, keeps you the perfect temperature. I would highly recommend these to anyone. Sizing was right for me, i wear a large/regular. My waist is 38", and 6'1" tall. Pair these with other columbia gear, and you are prepared for the elements! Good pants, but really big! The pants are fine, lots of pockets, comfortable, warm, but just soooo big! I am 6' 170 and I'm swimming in these pants. Order two sizes smaller. The inside gator is not so great. It should have Velcro instead of one snap and it barely fits over a boot, I foresee it ripping after a few uses. If you can get the size right, I highly recommend these pants. December 30, 2011
Could fit an elephant! the first pair I ordered for my son was a Men's Med (per size chart). We could have put him in them 3 times. The second pair, Men's Sm, are still on the large side but he needs the length. Thankfully there are belts. December 26, 2011
Great design! I bought these because the splash pants where sold out. I love them for what they are........if you are looking for a shell for winter activities these are not the pants for you. However they are the best snow pants I have ever owned. Durable and light weight. December 7, 2011
Great Pants - hard to get exact fit I love the quality and value of these pants. My ONLY complaint is that there is a large enough difference between sizes that I had to opt for either too baggy or two tight because I fell right in the middle. I would definitely recommend trying them on first November 16, 2011
