Men's Shastalavista™ Omni-Tech® 4.3 5 23 23
Waterproof for one season I wore these mostly for walking the dogs in the wet grass and mud. The first season they were great. This year they started leaking andboth my feet are wet at the end of the walk if I am walking in wet grass. The soles are still almost new so I didn't put a whole lot of time in them. June 10, 2012
Shastalavista lives up to its name The Sahastalavista has strong lateral strength and keeps the foot in the proper position, i.e., it is a major device for preventing injury. The treads give one a firm grip for hunting or hiking and give enough for comfort. Equip it with goo and silicone and it will last a long time. And, oh, by the way, it looks good too! April 29, 2012
This shoe adjusts itself to your foot. By the third time I wore this shoe, my foot snuggled happily into the contours of this shoe. I have had several areas of pressure and pain with other footwear, but have felt none of that discomfort with this shoe. January 13, 2012
Great sneaker It is water resistant, has nice traction, and is relatively lite. January 7, 2012
Watch out if you have wide feet. This shoe is nice looking and has really good tread for everything you may run into. My only issue is after wearing them for a month now, they have not relaxed much. They tend to be very tight thru the balls of you foot because of the construction. December 26, 2011
Great shoe Waterproof, light weight, comfortable. What more could you ask for? December 25, 2011
This product is extremely comfortable Very pleased with the Men's Shastalavista shoe as no break-in period was required. The fit was perfect and it was very comfortable from the moment I first put them on. Initially I was concerned about the weight of the shoe as it felt heavier than some of the other Columbia shoes I have worn, but it hasn't been an issue. December 7, 2011
Did 13 14ers in this shoe I did 13 14ers in this shoe and many portions of the soles are chipping away and one section completely detatch from the sole. A section of the leather on one of the shoes has cracked also. Probably suitable for light use, but the Rocky Mountains have torn these shoes apart. I will need a new pair of hiking shoes next year. Pretty comfortable right out of the box Haven't been able to take them 'off road' yet but spent a day doing some urban hiking. Very comfortable except for one pressure spot on top that seems to be working itself out. They'll probably be my favorite shoes once I get them broken in a bit. September 11, 2011
Putting them to the test Ive been wearing my new shoes for a little while now, and i have been putting them to the test. I am walking and climbing through and over the African terrain of Djibouti. Paved roads are few and far between. Several miles a day, everyday without these shoes would be unbearable. A smart buy, no doubt. August 23, 2011
Men's Shastalavista Review I wore this straight out of the box for nearly 18 hours. My feet were tired. So I would say these shoes need a one to two day break in do to their rigidness. This is not a bad thing. Great feel, great look, and brings the blue out in my eyes. August 10, 2011
Wow!!!! The shoe is very comfortable, and fits very well. I walk between two and four miles a day cross-country and on hardtop, and my feet feel great after each walk. The shoe support and cushioning do well in every terrain type. I would recommend this shoe for anyone who likes to walk for sport or just for fun. August 8, 2011
Best pair of Columbia Shoes I have owned! This is the first pair that I have purchased online and was a little uncomfortable about doing it at first, but once they arrived I was glad I did. The shoes fit better then expected and are very comfortable. I would highly recommend them and have. I really don't have anything negative to say about them. August 1, 2011
So Far, So Good Bought this waterproof model to use on an upcoming Alaskan cruise. Had to reorder because my normal size was a half size too small. Was impressed with the customer relations expediting the second shipment and the rapid credit for the original pair sent back.Have worn several times on city pavement. Exceptionally comfortable, while providing a great fit and support right out of the box. Feels like you are walking on a padded instead of hard pavement. Haven't had a chance to check in moisture or or rough terrain, am confident it will work as advertised. July 30, 2011
Great shoe and very waterproof I bought these shoes for the Fall and Spring weather here in Oregon. They keep the water out of my socks but they don't breathe much, getting you're socks full of sweat instead of rain. The tread is very good and very thick and durable. I expect these to last awhile. The shoes definitely aren't light and don't offer much for running or jogging. July 4, 2011
Good Pair of Shoe So far, it has been a comfortable pair of shoe with good grip. Haven't had the opportunity to wear it for rugged use yet, as well as to test how it holds against heavy rain. I believe it won't disappoint me, based on other reviews that I have read. June 22, 2011
A great summer shoes I work in landscape maintenance at a public garden, and I bought these shoes to wear at work. They have a great fit, they are very light and comfortable. At the same time, they feel well-built and sturdy. Though not waterproof, they resist a bit of water. They have pretty decent traction. I'd like to see some stronger shoe laces, seeing as in the past the laces on my Columbia shoes have been known to rip apart. Overall, nice-looking, functional, comfortable shoes. May 15, 2011
Very Satisfied Solid feel. No rubs or discomfort after long walks. Highly recommend. April 30, 2011
Shoes Ordered a size larger and fits perfect. Feels great. April 10, 2011
Out of the box impressions The grip on the sole is great. The heel support is good. The arch is a bit weak if you need extra support. Over all, I'm really happy with them, and can't wait to get hiking with them. However, I ordered size 14, since that's what I normally wear, and they are small for me. So I'll be returning them for a size 15 I guess. I have a pair of Columbia flipflops that just arrived too, and the are small as well, so it must be a brand issue. February 14, 2011
off road I go off road as much as I can with these shoes. I'm a 230 lb, 57 year old fireman and I've got my running back up to 40 minutes after an injury some months ago. I'm in the process of getting my weight down. Many times in the past when I've gone off road to lessen the shock of hard roadways, I've turned my ankles sometimes. That does not happen with these shoes. They are very stable and I like the extra thickness and protection of the materials used for the construction of the shoes. I don't get the puncturing by sticks that I got with other shoes. As usual, Columbia has made something 'their' way. January 3, 2011
more than expected I live in the mountains November 29, 2010
You might want to give this model consideration Several things stand out. You have a more flexible shoe than many similar appearing models. It seems to me the platform or base is a bit wider. You have the feeling you are more in the shoe than on top which makes it quite stable. Unless you think about it you will forget you are in new shoes after several hours. Since they are quite new the other features will take time to evaluate. I have been pleased with the other Columbia shoes all of which have had good wearing qualities September 1, 2010
