Very good, but ....... My inseam is 30". However, had to take it to a tailor to shorten it. That was an expenditure that I did not appreciate. I did note a previous customer's review mentioning the fact of the excessive length of the pants. November 29, 2013
Love these pants!!! Bought all three colours right off the bat because I knew they'd be awesome from all the reviews. They're super lightweight, absorb wetness (sweat, water) quickly, and wash awesomely. They're true to size except for the length - they're just SLIGHTly too long. I got a 30/30, and I'm pretty sure it's more of a 30/31... It's no hassle though, just looks kinda funny when they gather that much at the bottom. But whatever, I don't care that much how it looks, it keeps me cool and dry in the heat and humidity of Africa! November 28, 2013
Size and color variables Like the pants very much but have two small problems:1. I wear a 35/31 in a pair of slacks--to get a good fit in these pants I bought a 36/30, i.e. order a slightly larger waist and a slightly shorter length.2. the names of the colors are unintelligible. Ex: tusk is a medium khaki--gravel is a dark green, etc. Wish they would be a little less 'cutesy' with the namesOtherwise is a good pants November 19, 2013
Silver Ridge Pants Nice, lite-weight. Wish it had more colors. Will get another pair. November 18, 2013
Love the Pants Really Nice Pants Husband Loves them. Fit Real Nice and Keeps him Cool October 15, 2013
Review I bought 4 pairs of your shorts cargo style and they are not as good as the many I have purchased over the years...the zippers do not work well at all...not a good thing when you go to a rest room and you can not zip up the pants. I also had to take them to alterations to have the flaps on the back pockets sowed down..who needs a back pocket ??? They are carg shorts!!!!!!! October 7, 2013
GREAT PANTS, VERY COOL, a little long These pants are awesome. I live in S. Louisiana and i work outdoors. My job requires me to wear long pants, which makes for an even hotter summer. These pants keep me as cool as possible considering my work conditions. They dry very quickly. The only issue I have with the pants is that they run a bit long. I normally wear a 32" inseam...had to return my original order for a 30" inseam and they still a touch too long. When they are wet, the material stretches, which makes them WAY TOO LONG. I end up having to roll the bottoms to avoid constantly stepping on the pants with my heels. Other than that, the pants are absolutely awesome. September 12, 2013
Super comfortable for traveling, outdoor activities and hot weather These pants are the best for traveling, they are so comfortable for sitting in a plane for 10 to 12h, all the pockets are great for holding plane tickets, passports and such... They take no space in your bag. They are also excellent for wearing in very hot weather being so light and breathable and when you wash them they are dry in no time. They are great for hiking or just hanging out on weekends. Also check out the convertible version where legs can be unzipped to become great shorts.Highly recommended. September 8, 2013
Great value These pants are very light weight and comfortable -- a great value. September 8, 2013
Great looks and feels great for a thru-PCT & thru-CDT hiker These pants, not available at either Campmor or Amazon in my size and desired gravel color (dark forest ranger green), were found at the source at Columbia. I am very pleased with them. The cargo pockets (one of them with a secure zipper closure) carry useful things on my hikes, but they lie flat when empty, therefore the pants look neat and trim for city use too. I also like the lightweight belt with a simple, easily adjustable plastic snap buckle. I have worn nylon pants exclusively ever since learning how useful they can be when I hiked from Mexico to Canada on two separate occasions (PCT 94 & CDT 99). Nylon dries quickly. The pants can be put back on soaking wet after fording a stream and they will dry on the trail by body heat alone. Nylon material also lasts for a long time; two nylon pants have lasted me for two years, wearing them on alternate days (but I only take one on long hiking trips to reduce pack weight). Nylon material is light and flexible; I can sit in meditation in these pants with my legs crossed in half lotus, no problem. September 6, 2013
Stitching shrunk when first washed The first time the pants were washed, the stitching shrunk, and the legs puckered. So, the good looking slacks now look horrible. The fit is fine. The function is excellent. With the shrunken stitching, I'm not sure if I will ever wear this pair again. August 27, 2013
Great Pants Good looking, durable and very comfortable. A great value. Also has tall sizes. August 15, 2013
great features, didn't fit me These pants look great and the quality is fine, but the style doesn't fit my slender hips and full thighs. They pull through the hip and upper leg when I lift my knee upward. Not comfortable for hiking for me.So sorry but must send them back.A larger pair won't fix the problem because the pants fit fine in the waist and from the knee down.It would be awesome if you would offer a longer pant, inseam 35" or 36". August 10, 2013
Suggested Improvements The length was 1/2" longer than the stated size.More selection of dark colors would be helpful. You really don't want light colors for hiking pants. August 7, 2013
Silver Ridge trousers These trousers are super comfortable, however in length they run a bit large: I measured the inseam from the correct point in the gusseted crotch to the cuff and it is about 1.5 inches too long. That is, I wear a 30" inseam and the pair I purchased measure an inseam of 31.5" and let me tell you, people who wear a 30" inseam really do wear a 30" inch inseam, thus the extra 1.5 inches in inseam length are not appreciated. To be sure, when activity gets tough and one is hiking and sweating, clothes get sticky and material stretchs, so any extra material becomes very annoying whilst it drags about in the dirt and grime, exposing it to faster wear-and-tear. However, the spring loaded zipper "latch" on the left cargo pocket is nice and keeps the zipper latch out of the way and from dangling: so, if you put your wallet in that pocket, no eye attaction is made from a dangling or swinging zipper latch, like on most other trousers. Also, the cargo pocket is single pleated making the trousers more office friendly like, where with double pleates the look would be a bit too casual for office wear. I buy clothes I can wear both in office and in field. The belt detaches and you can use your own, however, I prefer belt attachment like Prana did with their Zion Stretch and Patagonia did with their Gi II and Gi III trouser. The sleek and innovative design of the hem in the leg (that lays diagonal across the thigh) and the gusseted crotch make for a very comfortable trouser (how challenging to keep all the pieces together it must have been when sewing these trousers together during manufacturing). The material is a bit thin and though it might be tough, just a bit more thickness would make them for transitioning from those warm day hikes to the cooler evening temps, because who really wants to change clothes on the go out in the field. Over all, the trouser fit well enough, mind the over emphasis on the "relaxed" fit in the inseam. I would, too, going back to the belt design, add two wide-like belt loops in the back of the waits and go for an aggressive eight belt loops, but that's just me; however, the spring loaded belt clip is fancy, just not sure it will hold up after a bit of salt from body sweat or dunks in the ocean. Cheers! August 1, 2013
male delivery was satisfactory---material is comfortable--have not had them long enough to judge wear July 25, 2013
Odd sizing Took me 3 goes to get something that nearly fits. Waist lines are small even though there is some elasticity, and legs are extremely long, but that's mainly because these pants sit lower than conventional trousers. So for someone who would normally buy 33"W x 32"L, I had to go with 34"W and 30"L. Lower rating on quality because of the velcro used on pockets - does not secure wallet pocket at all. But love the style, which is why I'm keeping them! July 15, 2013
Best Summer Pants Protects you from sun, If you get wet dries very quickly. Very light and thin but tough material. July 11, 2013
Great Pants I love your Silver Ridge trousers. I originally bought your shorts in the same fabric for boating and liked that they're cool and dry really fast. It's hot and humid here in north Florida. I bought a pair of these trousers to wear for Zumba because of their quick dry properties. They were perfect. I liked them so much that I bought two more pairs. I wear them almost every day. When you make more colors (a charcoal would be nice) I'll buy them too.Sincerely,Mark July 8, 2013
Mens Silver Ridge Cargo Pant I bought 2 pair for my son and I for a trip to Thailand. We loved the material, it is extremely light weight which worked well in the hot climate of Thailand. We carried them around in our backpacks and put them on when we visited the temples. The waist size runs about 1 inch smaller than normal for both of us. I normally wear a 32 or 33, but based on previous reviews, I ordered a 34 and it fit well. The length runs true to size. These pants our very comfortable and light. I would recommend them for any type of travel, local hiking or even just wearing around town. Excellent pants and I am going to order some more. July 7, 2013
very nice pants These pants are comfortable, look nice, and have all the pcokets in just the right place. July 5, 2013
Great look I bought this pant for my husband and he absolutely loves them. Says they are extremely comfortable and will wear them on an overseas flight. Look great on him as well. I followed the advise of others and ordered one size up (34 to a 36) and they are perfect. My only complaint is that if they came in odd length sizes, they wouldn't need to be shortened an inch. July 4, 2013
Good value for money!!! The pants was true to size and as described very light weight and comfortable. The only problem I noticed was the little sound while moving which is not a bigger issue :) July 1, 2013
Fishing pant I've used other pants for fishing and these fit the bill. By far my favorite fit and the fastest drying. June 28, 2013
Great pants for hot weather These have become my favorite pants for Arizona summers. They are cool, dry quickly, and feel great. In cooler weather I wear Vertx tactical pants but in the summer, these are superior. June 27, 2013
Love the pants I love the material and feel of the pants. I do wish the pants fit more true to size. This type of pant should not fit snug through the hips and legs. I had to buy 2 sizes up in the waist to get the fit I wanted in the rest of the pants. That said, again, I love the overall feel and comfort (once I had the waist taken in). June 27, 2013
Nice Pants The pants fit great and the sizing is better than most pants I have ordered previously. Now keep in mind I have only worn and washed these pants once, but they are very comfortable and appear pretty well made; the durability of this pant is still to be determined. June 25, 2013
Designed with someone else in mind I agree with other reviewers, the pants run small (skinny). I've owned several of Columbia's field pants over the years and the latest version has moved away from the features I'm looking for. I need roomy pants that are designed for working in the desert heat. The previous Titanium pants were more functional, with larger cargo pockets and a looser fit. Although I'm not a fan of the new style, the quality and durability of the pants seem just as dependable as previous designs. June 24, 2013
bad advertising These pants were originally designed for a slimmer man with a trim look when on the body and I have owned two pairs of them in the original slim design. Now you are making them with a "relaxed fit" which means bigger rear end and leg room. That is fine -- BUT put it in the ad! I would never have ordered these pants with that warning. June 18, 2013
Great pair of fishing pants These are the best pants I have tried on to fish in the heat with. The fit is very comfortable. They do not cling, but neither are they too large in the crotch and rear as other brands were when trying to find a comfortable fit. I bought 1 size up as Columbia states "they run a little small". I wear a 40 (fm fit good to tight throughout the year), so the 42 (even with a little elastic in the side-waist) fit extremely well. Will try them out next year on a tarpon trip to Boca Grande and the south Florida heat. Pants seem to made well and the web belt that came with them was a plus. June 18, 2013
Many things to like BUT Tried a 36 first and they are pretty tight in the crotch. I have a bit of a belly and though there's an elastic waistband, the belly causes the crotch to ride up. So I bought a 38W pair because I like everything else about them but the 38 is too big. So, if you are a true size in the waist these are great, light and comfortable. June 7, 2013
Best pants I have owned in 43 years. I love these pants. Comfortable, lightweight, cool, and look great. I bought one size bigger in the waist and one size shorter in the length and they fit perfect. These pants are great for watching sporting events, coaching, hiking, fishing, or camping, but I also feel comfortable wearing them to casual events like a family dinner, school functions, or a casual business seminar. They look great with T-shirts or polo's. my wife even likes the look of them. June 5, 2013
First pair of Silver Ridge Cargo Pants I bought my first pair. They fit very well. I got many compliments. I'm buying a second pair today. Nuff said. May 29, 2013
My go to travel clothing Being retired my wife and I, get to Travel a bit.The line of Columbia clothing make it easy. They pack and take up less room. I think the best thing about them, wash them out in the afternoon back them in morning. Not to forget Good Quality for the Money May 27, 2013
quality as expected the fit was as indicated on the website. quality, typical columbia, would not expect anything less. normally a 32" inseam is short, these were perfect. i will order the shorts and another pair of pants. the order arrived as indicated at checkout. thanks again columbia. May 24, 2013
Just what I wanted Size runs a little small so I got the next larger size and the fit is perfect. The material is very lightweight and should be comfortable for summer activities. I am very satisfied with this product. May 11, 2013
Great warm weather cargo pants These pants are very comfortable. The cargo pockets are nice. The left cargo pocket doesn't expand very much and has a zipper closure. I use it for items that are not bulky and where I don't have to get at to frequently as the zipper is hard to close and open when wearing the pants. I am in an area where I have had to wear these pants for 3 days and they still look good. These pants are for warm weather and they feel great in the 95F heat I am in right now. May 4, 2013
This product has no zipper legs ...and that's a great thing. While I own several pairs of zippered long/short pants they don't feel appropriate in nicer venues. These pants fit the bill and look good to boot.I highly recommend them but will say that I wear a 36 waist in the zippered long/short pants and these required a 38 to feel comfortable. They do run about a size smaller than advertised and Columbia tells you this on their website. BELIEVE THEM! April 30, 2013
Great for Travel Perfect for a 2 week trip to china. Washes in the sink and can hang dry. Fits great. April 30, 2013
Most comfortable pants ever. As a full time charter Capt. In SW FL, I wear these pants everyday and they are as comfortable as Columbia claims. They are very durable for such light pants as well. April 12, 2013
Great Pant I wear these even in the heat of summer in south Florida. Keeps cool, great pocket storage for the fisherman. Highly recomend April 11, 2013
Good pants I purchased these pants as a replacement for some North Face nylon pants I had bought several years ago, which were discontinued. Nylon pants like these are excellent for travelling because they're lightweight, pack small, have cargo pockets for a passport and goodies needed in an airplane seat, and can be easily washed in a hotel-room sink. When I first tried on these Columbia pants, I was not enthusiastic. The cut in the legs included darts on the knees to take in material, giving them more of a form-fitting appearance that, I thought, may not be roomy enough for comfortable walking. But the workmanship was excellent. Having sewn a few pairs of pants and shirts myself, I could only admire the topstitches on those darts, and hoped the skilled Vietnamese seamstress who sewed them was being adequately compensated. In the end I did not return these pants and am very happy with them. Though I haven't yet tried hiking in them, they look great and are perfectly comfortable for everyday use. They're even lighter and more compact even then other nylon pants I own, making them easy to stuff in bike panniers or in a small suitcase. I also like the fact that one cargo pocket is zipped, i.e. more secure. The fact that they don't have those zip-off legs makes them appear less like hiking shorts, and more appropriate to wear at work. I will likely buy another pair. April 10, 2013
Light as can be These cargo pants are fantastic. The fit was perfect. They are very light weight which made my trip to the Amazon a "breeze". The pants are well constructred. Ample pocket space. Sometimes pants labeled as "cargo" pants have tiny useless pockets. That is not the case here. I will buy two more pairs. April 10, 2013
The best pans I ever had This is an awesome product. Actual inseam is 31 though. April 6, 2013
This product serves my purpose perfectly I will be using these pants for my hobby - practical shooting as I transition from wearing shorts to pants for the sun protection I need for my legs. The liver spots on my lower legs has become an irritating sight for my me and my wife :( April 4, 2013
"Skinny" comes to performance pants... I guess the "skinny" fad has come to performance pants. I have two Silver Ridge II pants from several years ago that fit fine with the knowledge that Columbia always fits snug. But these are horrible. The tapered leg fit is like trying to wear your little sister's pants! The material is thinner as well which makes me wonder about long term use. March 31, 2013
better now From your request to write a review"Dear William,Thank you for choosing Columbia for your recent purchase! Clearly, you are an intelligent and discerning shopper (and good looking, too, we bet).after putting the pants on..I am better looking with the pants! March 10, 2013
Silver Ridge Cargo Pant Loved similar pants with the shorts so got these without shorts option. Fit is good, light, drys quickly when wet. Play golf in them as no denim is allowed and get comments asking where I got them. These have real belt loops in contrast to the ones that zip into shorts, that is an improvement. However, the belt does slip and loosen a little if doing activies such as golf. March 6, 2013
Good product Excellant pairof jeans. I purchased these pants because I wanted a pair of jeans that would keep me cool in hotter climates. The quality of the material is good and the fit is nice. Some reviewers said they were a little small but the pants I ordered were true to size. February 23, 2013
length of pant is not accurate I purchased a 32 inch inseam. When I measured it from crotch , it was actually 33. But, because of the "relaxed fit" style of this cargo pant, the crotch hangs looser, making the pant lenght at least 3 1/2 inches too long. I was able to sew it myself (don't like to have to do that), but if you cannot --you may have to factor in a $15 tailor fee to hem them. The fabric seems perfect for our jungle adventures in Borneo and other adventure travel. But --be careful on the length or you will be walking on them. February 21, 2013
