Great Hot Weather Fishing Shorts Very comfortable. Cool in hot weather. Dry quickly. 12" length is great. Design and fit help with movement.Mesh belt provided is not necessary or workable. Plastic belt buckle is not strong enough for active use and prevents tool attachment i.e. plier holster, etc. February 11, 2013
Ready to Ride I'm a big guy (well, big around, anyhow), and as big guys often will, I tend to perspire rather a bit when I exert myself. I usually deal with this by wearing breathable, fast-drying workout gear. However, as I ride my bicycle more and more for transportation around my part of town, I'm often going places where I'd rather be both dressed in a casual but attractive way (i.e., not in gym clothes), and also not dripping sweat. Cycling-specific casual wear is outrageously priced, and the shorts more often than not include a built-in chamois which simulates the uncomfortable sensation of wearing a diaper when not mounted.Enter Columbia's Silver Ridge line of sharp-looking, super-breathable, and fast-drying shorts. While still pricier than hot, sweat-absorbing cotton equivalents, they're easier on the budget than most alternatives marketed for cycling, and are much more comfortable in and out of the saddle. If you're riding as a commuter or for transportation in a warm climate, I cannot recommend these highly enough.A note on sizing: I measure 46" around the waist, but usually buy 44" pants, due to rampant vanity sizing. I went with my proper measurement when I ordered these shorts, but I can still comfortably fit my fist sideways between my bellybutton and the waistband. My next pair will be 44". January 29, 2013
A great pair of shorts My only criticism is that the velcro on the right pocket should be a little bigger. Since I use these when riding my mountain bike, I had to add velcro to make the pocket more secure. Otherwise, they are a great pair of shorts. August 13, 2012
Columbia might have just done Active Fit right! I usually try to stay away from Active Fit items because i need more room in the seat and thighs. I decided to take a chance on these shorts and boy am I glad that i did! March 3, 2012
