good good product but a little expensive March 24, 2012
Jacket for High School Son This is an amazing jacket for my son. He is a drummer in the high school band. They rehearse early in the morning and into the evening, when it really gets cold. The jacket is light enough and soft enough so that he can really move, yet it gets him toasty warm. A few times he said he was too warm and thinking it had warmed up out side he started to take the jacket off. Then he realized it was bitter cold outside and slipped right back into the jacket. He loves this coat and wears it every day. I highly recommend it. March 23, 2012
Good Product Columbia has excellent customer service. Without my asking, you went out of your way before Christmas to make sure I received a gift exchange before the holiday. Thank you.The product is attractive and meets the need. I would suggest that the lower part of the jacket have a little more wiggle room available to accommodate moving around while seated...like in a car. It can be tightened up now, but needs to have a few inches of flexibility at the drawstring. February 4, 2012
heat reflector and cold conductor This is a nice fleece for cool to mildly-cold conditions or as a midlayer. I like the omni-heat idea and I own several omni-heat items but unless my physics memories fail me aluminum is also a good conductor of cold. This fleece could benifit from a membrane or some type of bonded wind screen to this fabric. Yes omni-heat does reflect heat back but when the wind cuts through the fabric all the little dots become conductors of cold and stop reflecting heat. I wore this on a very windy day in Chicago it was about 39 degrees and every time the wind gusted, it cut right through the fleece the dots would actualy become uncomfortably cold. This is a nice insulating layer or a outlayer in mild conditions. The fit was good and the workmanship was excelent qaulity the fit was a little athletic I would recomend this as a mid-layer it is not wind proof. This time omni-heat actualy works against you because of the ability to conduct cold. January 30, 2012
Nice Nice fleece jacket, good as a second layer, below a Bugaboo Puff down jacket I also bought. I used this comination during my winter stay in Stockholm (2 months). It is also good for milder conditions although it recommended to have a good first clothing layer if it is chilly. It is light and comfortableMy wife loved the orange details on dark blue January 25, 2012
Produce your own heat I live in SE Alaska and use this as a layer under gore tex type jackets and parkas. This is an excellent fleece layer with good zippers and quality construction throughout. Good wicking and wind protection. January 4, 2012
My son was very pleased Got it for my son for Christmas. Fit perfectly, and he loves the light weight and warmth. I was worried it would be too small, but the 2x was perfect!! January 3, 2012
Jacket was made with cheap materials cheap materials for $100. Not even sure if the omniheat works at all. December 31, 2011
Great Christmas gift! My son was thrilled with his Christmas gift! December 28, 2011
Well, it's not a miracle fleece. I wouldn't pay much extra for this fleece, over a a regular fleece. I'd say its worth about $50-70. The omniheat function is just ok. It's a thinner fleece, but, probably, feels like a slightly thicker one, warmth-wise. Fit and finish is ok, but there are some large loose threads in the seams inside that must be clipped. Finally the "feel" of the jacket is sort of stiff and starchy. This would be ok for an outer shell, but this is the inner layer, often. Maybe that will get better with time. This fleece fits a little bit big. The arm cuff straps are handy, and the collar fits up nice to shield me from the wind. Of course it suffers from the weakness of all fleece, in that it doesn't work that well in a breeze. December 28, 2011
Perfect in every way! I got this fleece because my husband needed something warm but doesn't like thick or heavy jackets. The jacket is thin, however the omni-heat is perfect for keeping you warm. December 28, 2011
Wonderful product This product is excellent. I bought it and a similar northern competitor's fleece. The Columbia product is a significantly better fit for me and felt better made. It is perfect for late fall to early winter weather in the NY area and I also plan to use it with my outer shell for ski trips.Highly recommended. December 6, 2011
Great Fleece I got this fleece b/c I wanted something warm but not so thick. I have warn this fleece a few times and it has kept me very warm each time. The jacket is very thin, but b/c of the omni-heat technology... it keeps you very warm. November 26, 2011
Disappointing... For the first time, I've been disappointed with Columbia's product. The Thermarator sounds like serious-warmth, but I beg to differ. Perhaps, cuz of only being omni-heat reflective and not insulated?--I am a cold person so I am pretty picky about what keeps me warm.I returned this for Columbia's Road 2 Peak Fleece, which in my view is really warm.Otherwise, the styling of the Thermarator is cool and for those who don't need too much warmth--its good, but agian the price is high for not even having Omni-Shield.I had high hopes on this one, but....thats life November 22, 2011
Like a comfy toaster. When I put on the Thermarator fleece it didn't take long for me to feel as if I was inside a comfy toaster. Not too hot, just right. If I did overheat, a simple zipper pull downward would alleviate any overheating. November 22, 2011
Comfortable A warm and comfortable travel or casual walk outer layer. It will provide a good amount of warmth when wind is not a factor and with the interchange capability, it can easily be layered underneath a wind proof shell. I find this fleece nice for walking around town or short easy day hikes. Recomended for around the camp attire also. November 7, 2011
Shortcomings of the Termarator Great fleece jacket but it's not as windproof as one is led to believe by the advertisement. If you layer, the jacket will work fine but, I don't like to layer as I live in the SouthEast not Northwest. However, I do like the adjustable cuffs, great zippers and overall construct of the jacket. Just wish Columbia could have done more to stop the wind. Or, change it's advertising. November 7, 2011
