Outstanding I've got the 10+ year-old rubberized version of this jacket. It is still going strong through very hard conditions. I was concerned that this one, not being rubberized, would leak like most other woven jackets. Great Jacket I really love this jacket I feel like this jacket is thin enough to be fairly active in but thick enough to keep the wind out. i love the fact that it can fold into itself. I works extremely well in rainey gross days. I really love the blue. overall this jacket is everything youd expect in a rain jacket from this company. Zipper very difficult I am pleased with look and weight of this jacket. I have many other Columbia jackets. For some reason the zipper on this jacket will not function properly. It takes at list a half a dozen tries to zip and then it still just unlace somewhere along zipper. Very disappointed in quality of this jacket. Awesome Rain Jacket!!! Just got this jacket. As usual, Columbia has made an excellent product!! Went hiking in the rain the day after the jacket arrived. It's performance was amazing. The Ideal Packable Windbreaker I have used this style of Windbreaker for about 20 years. It was originally produced by "London Fog" and somewhere along the line Columbia picked it up.It is made from a material that is water proof, yet breathes, making it a super handy outer shell.Since it is packable, it is easy to bring along "just in case."Best of all, when issues arise (eventual diminishing of water repellence, you can trade it in for a new one! Very true to size I recently purchased this jacket and was concerned about the number of reviews about its size running large. I am 6'0" 190 with a 40" waist. The XL size is really perfect for me and is consistent with all the other XL outerwear I purchase from this and other suppliers. The arms are a good length, the neck is not too wide and there is absolutely enough room to wear a fleece jacket, hoodie or another jacket underneath, without being too snug. Even as a sole outer layer, the jacket is not overly baggy on me.There is insufficient info the product description about pockets, so tell you what it has:-- Zippered exterior pocket on the left chest - perfect for a billfold and passport.-- Large interior pocket (left chest) with a velcro closure also perfect for wallet and passport, or phone.-- Both side pockets for hands also have zippers, seriously awesome features I wasn't aware of. I have no risk of my car keys or iPhone falling out into the snow or ice when I climb into my car.Awesome product - HIGHLY recommend it. February 13, 2013

Excited about this jacket Upon finding this jacket at an awesome price it was too good to pass up. The reviews concerning the size are all true as this jacket does run larger in size. I typically wear medium size jackets (I'm 5'11", 175lbs) and the small size fits almost perfectly, even with a hooded sweatshirt on underneath. My only complaint is that the sleeves are baggy compared to the fit of the torso; however the length of the sleeves are just right for me. January 2, 2013

Excellent choice for winter jogging I am a jogger and have been looking for a light weight waterproof jacket to wear during wet weather. So far this jacket has been an excellent choice. The outer fabric is indeed waterproof--yet the light inner liner allows for air circulation. The hood is well designed and stays in place--even in windy conditions. December 19, 2012
Watertight Jacket Review I keep this jacket in my car all the time. I have used it for rainy days on the golf course, and it is light, but not too hot. It vents well, and if I need another layer, it is roomy enough to allow the extra layer, and still not impede the golf swing.I also like the fact that it is very light, packs well, and works well as a jacket to take on a trip to cover all bases.I bought the bright yellow jacket, and it is very visible for cycling, or jogging along the roadside. Good rain jacket; poor fit Have not decided whether to keep this jacket. Tried it on; great fabric and lining, but sleeve length would fit a gorilla (sleeves almost down to my fingertips). Also, hood does not roll-up into the collar, like my former NorthFace jacket, so it is always flopping around my back when not in use. Otherwise, fit in shoulders and waist is fine; why does this jacket have to be so ill-fitting in the sleeves? I am 5'10" and 150 pounds, so of "average" size for a Medium. It's a shame, because otherwise this jacket is just what I was looking for. December 3, 2012
Very Good So Far This replaced another brand's raincoat whose seams came unglued after several years.The Columbia coat is waterproof. It's hood is very large so it needs a cap or helmet under it. The zippered pockets add to the waterproofing. It is very light but seems strong. If it is durable, it would rate another star if I needed such a big hood.I haven't worn it enough to test its durability. December 1, 2012
Keeps you Dry This is a great, light, jacket that will keep the wind and rain off of your back. It runs a little large. I'm 6'2" and slender and a Medium fit me perfectly (including sleeve length). I tried this on in a store first before I ordered which was great because I would have been disappointed in a large.So far this has kept me nice and dry. It is a light jacket, so don't expect it to keep you very warm on a cold day without layering something under it. November 26, 2012
Watertight and more This product performs as advertised and more.This lightweight jacket not only holds the wind and water at bay, but when layered properly (i.e. base layer: thermal l/s shirt; mid-layer: fleece) keeps you comfortably warm without overheating for cold outings in the woods or exploring a city. Funtional and good looking I'm a medium-size woman and sometimes prefer a man's jacket for outdoors use because they are roomier and I can layer comfortably and still move my arms. They also often have more pockets and seem more rugged. The men's medium size was perfect, so it must run a little small. I would prefer it to be slightly longer and have a couple more pockets, but over all, I'm quite pleased. November 16, 2012

Actually Waterproof I haven't had the jacket very long, so I can attest to durability, but I was out in a torrential rain storm and stayed completely dry - no seeping through the seams and no residual wetness when I returned to my car and leaned against the seat. My phone even stayed dry in the pocket. Plus the jacket is much lighter weight than other waterproof products I have owned. October 25, 2012

Great Jacket Best jacket I have ever purchased; worth every penny. The material is great--water proof but the jacket breaths well so you won't over heat while wearing it. Inside pocket is deep, so you don't have to worry about your passport falling out. And Columbia has the best zippers you will find anywhere. Work great and never seem to get stuck. Great rain jacket, but disappointing color I spend a lot of time hiking and conducting research in the field, and this rain jacket has kept me dry every time I've worn it. It's held up to some pretty heavy rain storms. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this jacket. My only problem was the color of the jacket didn't match the pictures online. I ordered the Amazon colored jacket, and I was excited about this color. I liked the dark natural green color, but the actual jacket turned out to be almost lime green. It's a bit bright for my taste, but it'll still keep me dry I guess. October 2, 2012

Perfect Choice I purchased the jacket for my trip to Alaska. It worked even better than I anticipated. Thankfully I didn't need it as a raincoat, but it was perfect for blocking the cruise ship winds. Also, plenty of pockets for room key and passport. Love it! August 28, 2012
Great product for the price I bought this jacket for a hike up to Williams Lake in New Mexico in August. As we reached the lake the weather changed considerably. What started out as a beautiful alpine hike in 70 degree weather turned for the worst; thunder and lightning, hail, wind and driving rain. The jacket performed very well on our (approx. 1 hour) hike back down to the parking lot. Because of the mesh liner and breathable material, I didn't have any condensation inside the jacket. The hood fits well and the slight brim kept the rain off my face. The toggles and poppers, although rudimentary, work well. Overall, this seems to be a great jacket. Very pleased. August 27, 2012

Keeps you dry I wore this jacket on a fishing trip where it was a downpour. The jacket kept me dry except at the zipper. Water leaked through the zipper. Overall I am very happy with this jacket and is excellent if you are in the city or doing some hiking. My only complaint is, I wish the zipper area was a double flap to keep water out from the zipper area. August 16, 2012

A pretty good jacket - but is "Large" really a large A recent trend in many different kinds of mens clothing is to call something "Large" that 10 or 15 years ago would have been "Extra Large". I think women's clothing has been using terminology like this for much longer (e.g., calling clothes for heavy women "petite"), since people do not like to buy clothes with names like oversized or extra large or jumbo. With obesity a rapidly growing problem in the U.S., and most Americans doing nothing about it except getting fatter, this is going to continue to be a problem way into the future.I wish that companies that produce quality clothing, like Columbia, would give realistic size advice on their websites. Arm length, body height, and weight should be included in the guidance for selecting size. I researched this purchase for a long time because I'm very picky about both look and quality, and because of my shoulder and chest size, I know that a medium would not fit me.... it will be tight around the armpits.So I'm stuck buying a Large, which I know in winter or cold weather I'll fill into a little bit better, but it's going to be very roomy when I wear it at the beach in Maine at the end of August.By the way, every nickname I picked for myself in order to post this comment came back that it was taken by another customer, so I just made up a random sequence of nonsense syllables. Delivers the goods I have worn this while walking the dog: it keeps me dry and my clothes are not moist & clammy. Germany can receive significant rainfall in the summer (like Washingotn state), and it is occasionally warm as well (as in Western New York, my home). I will never own any other. This is perfect! My last Columbia jacket was about 10 years old or maybe a little older. It never failed and came clean every time, even in the light gray color. It didn't wear out, smeone just wanted it more than I as far as I can tell.I work outside every day and Idaho weather can be a bit rough. If it gets a little to cold, it's size lets me add base layers and fleece jacket and I am set.I also own convertable pants that I would like to own more of. Best gear for the Northwest hands down. How to measure
- Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
