GREAT HIKING HAT I LOVE THIS HAT. I use it when I walk the dog and go on hikes. It keeps me well protected from the sun as I am very fair. It is a light weight and cool and I don't know it is on my head. Love it! May 20, 2011
Not great for sailboat racing I like the neck flap a lot, and the hat keeper has saved the hat from flying downwind more than once. However the bill is too long for competitive sailboat racing: When you look up at the sails, you really have to crane your neck back to see the masthead fly.I have the white model, and it has become rather dirty after just a few uses/abuses. Great for sun shade I was recently diagnosed with Vitiligo (depigmentation of the skin like Michael Jackson had). Fortunately mine is so far only on the neck, making it easier to hide and take care of. The hat is practical, but would earn no prizes in the super looking category. I use it often for hiking, boating and to flip on quickly when out and about. The only real negative is the feel of the fabric. My husband ordered a cute little Omni bucket style hat and it is much more attractive, but does not cover enough skin for sun protection. August 26, 2010
Works well in extreme heat I have been using this hat during marching band practice and it has worked well. With previous hats, I found myself pulling the hat off every few minutes to wipe the sweat off my forehead. This hat seems to absorb all the moisture and but doesn't get extremely wet either. The temperature this week has been over 100 degrees and it has helped keep me cool. The only negative is the band students think I look like I should be on a safari... August 12, 2010

Exceptional headgear I now take medicine that makes me allergic to sunlight and I no longer need to slather my face, ears, and neck with sunscreen. The special material indeed aids cooling. My only wish is that the flap were just a bit longer. The bill is just right - adequate shade without being annoyingly long like some of those ocean-fishing hats. July 19, 2010

Omni Shade Freezer Hat--made in the shade I recently bought the Omni Shade Freezer Hat to be used in the Cleveland sunshine while I canvas neighborhoods for my job and also for use when I do plein air painting. It is the best hat for hot weather. It has kept my head cool, my eyes out of glaring sunshine, and heat from the back of my neck. Actually works! I live in Hawaii, the sun is intense. Hat's have alway been an issue with me as I am a "hot head". Hat usually get soaking wet (salt lines!), but no more! The "Frezzr" hatlet the heat out and it somewhow doesn't get wet. The extralong brim help in the early morning or eve sun. I love it, get one! Save your face from sun damage, and stay cool. Omni Shade Freezer Hat I find the freezer hat to be cool and has a wide brim to block sunlight, but the cape should be of stiffer material to keep it from blowing in the wind and not covering your neck. February 19, 2010
