Not as good as the original
Columbia should go back to the original design.
I've had several pairs of ROC pants. Columbia has made changes to the design that makes them less appealing. The side pocket was a perfectly positioned for my phone. The pocket was moved more to the back of the thigh and lower. This is less ideal and frequently uncomfortable when sitting with a phone in the pocket. Additionally, the pocket is smaller with a place for a pen or pencil. Many newer phones no longer fit in the pocket and I don't see the pen pocket as useful.
The ROC pants used to have a button on the fly. This has been downgraded to a snap. The snap often comes unsnapped. The button never came loose.
All in all, the pants are fine. I am disappointed in the changes that were made as they are not improvements.

Very good product with one exception
I purchased a pair of Columbia ROC pants several years ago from a local department store. They’ve lasted so well, are comfortable, and have a nice, casual look. Therefore, I went online to order the exact pair directly from Columbia. My wife was ironing this new pair prior to my wearing them and she discovered a 2-3 inch seam along the lower portion of one of the legs that wasn’t stitched. Rather than return the pants for a new pair, she was able to stitch the seam. Other than that seam, the pants look great. I hope they wear as well as the first pair I purchased.

ROC Pants
I loved my old pairs of these pants. These new ones seems a little thinner than the old ones but still ok. Just waiting to get through the break in period so they will soften. Overall, still a good choice.

These are the Ultimate ROC's
Been wearing these for years. They last for years. Just wish they had them in a 29" inseam and would have the darker colored khaki again. My job has me in all type of environments and they hold up great. I highly recommend.

Men's ROC Pant
This is the second pair of ROC's I have owned. They are good quality, comfortable, nicely cut, and great for casual wear and office. I really like them in spite of a couple of design issues. I thought that the extra pocket in the leg would be a great place to carry a phone but found that, although my iPhone fit perfectly, it was located a bit far down my leg and behind my right knee so it ends up inconvenient to reach for. I am also not a big fan of the waist snap as it tends to come undone too easily as compared to a regular button.

good pants - size a bit inconsistent
Love the ROC pants - finally found something cut with reasonable room in the seat. The one problem I've had is that the sizing is not consistent from one pair to the next. Bought one pair - loved them so bought three more (one each in the remaining colors) only to find out the three new pair were all abotu an inch shorter than the original pair. Had to reorder longer size and hem them. Other than that, they wear well and are comfortable. Would be ncie to have a 35 and 37 waist available.

Snap on waistband popped off
I like these pants and have ordered them before, but I haven't had these 2 weeks and the snap on the waistband just popped off - bad rivet job.

Can't beat the original!!!
I have several pair of the Original ROC pant and love them. Highly recommend - fit is perfect, super soft and durable material, very useful pockets and I like the snap instead of a button. They are appropriate for almost any occassion.
Only disappointment is they are not available in the store.

Men's Roc Pants
These pants are very well made and the fit is very good. I wear these in several different colors and the functionality is superb.

ROC Pants work great!
I really like the security pocket as well as the light comfort, flexibility, and durability of these pants. I wear them to work every day as good looking, functional, presentable attire. I only wish the side pocket (for pen and cell?) was for cell phones only...smarter phones seems to be larger as well as smarter.

ROC Pant is Hard Core!
Classic Columbia pant that works well in the office, in the field, or carousing the late night bar scene. I bought 2 pair of the 33x34 and they fit perfectly - with plenty of length for taller guys. Odd waist sizes are key and allow for perfect fit if you are between sizes. My only wish is that they bring back the lighter Sand or Bone color (not khaki, gray or white) for the summer months ... I'd buy two more!

Great Pants
These pants fit amazingly. I have tried numerous pants for work and none of them fit as good as these do. They give me enough room in them so I can move around and not be constricted. They also last quite a while as well (life before they start to rip).

Okay
I had three pairs of these pants that lasted pretty much from 2008 until 2010, daily wear, so the quality is okay and I like them well enough. When I ordered a new pair in fall of 2011, I was disappointed that the smaller of the two compartments of the "leg pocket" (down at mid-thigh) had been down sized so that it can now only be used for something pencil-sized or smaller. I have my keys on a kubotan baton that used to fit just right in that pocket on the older version, but no longer. Also, the snap closure at the waist is kind of stupid. I wish they would replace it with a button.

Columbia ROC Pants - A Perfect Fit...
I discovered the ROC pants about 2 years ago, while I was searching for pants that were comfortable, and would last longer then 'when it was time pay the credit card' for the purchase. To my surprise, they far exceeded my expectations. I'm usually hard on pants, and they continue to keep up with my lifestyle. They're perfect to work in, use for casual times, and still look great for going out for the evening in a social setting. They are the only pants I wear now. I hope Columbia continues to produce the ROC's for a long time. Thanks Columbia.

Perfect Pants

Disappointment
I own other pairs of these pants and expected similar features on the new ones. What disappointment. The side pocket in the old pants, which nicely held my new i-phone, has been move to a position that has me sitting on the phone. And the phone no longer really fits in that pocket. The rear pockets have been deepened with a velco closure added. Makes it more difficult to access and the depth of the pocket makes it just about impossible to retrieve my wallet with one hand. Ugh! These are no improvements to me.

Good, sturdy pants
I am on my third or fourth pair of these. The fit is comfortable and not ugly. The zipper pocket is a nice touch. The fabric is more substantial than most chinos. Seams, hems, zippers are all well-constructed. Overall: durable, comfortable, presentable.

These pants are very comfortable, move easy and though it's hard to see on the web sight, a velcro closure on the small thigh pocket is a nice touch.

Men's ROC Pant
Purchased this pant first time a few years ago and I think they'll hold up forever. So...bought this second pair. This second pair is just slightly lighter in weight than the originals and the snap at the waist area slips down below my belt buckle. Quality control?

Just as comfortable as the first pair 2 years ago
The fit and finish are perfect. I couldn't imagine improving on my original 2 year old pair, but these are even better! Really like the location of the cell phone pocket.

Great pants for work
I bought these for my husband to wear to work, and he absolutely loves them. The hidden zipper pocket is awesome, and they wear very well. They don't wrinkle easily and look great. The fit is perfect.

Updated cell phone pocket
I have two pairs of these in the older version. The pair I just bought have a slightly larger cell phone pocket on the leg which now allows for my Verizon Droid X2 to fit. This is a nice change as the phone would not fit into the older version. These pants are a solid choice.

Love these pants
I love these pants like women love purses. However 2 of the 5 I purchased had a minor issue. The right thigh gear/tool pocket that I use to hold my cellphone was stitched wrong, the pen pocket was made too large and the adjacent pocket was then too small. I simply removed the stitching as I don't carry pens. So these pants are great. I wear them all the time everywhere, beach, church, yardwork, hiking, whatever. Also these pants are better in my opinion than the ultimate ROC pants, as the security (zipper) pocket is easily accessible. My only suggestion would be to make it so that a style was offered with the security and gear/tool pocket reversed for those that are left handed. Also, would love to see the pant offered in an olive tone and a dark reddish brown clay color. (like a morrocan red clay color) Love these pants, please never discontinue this style.

ROC Chino Waist Snap
I love ROC Chinos except for the waist snap. The pants are rugged and will endure many wash/dry cycles, but if dried hard repeatedly, the waist becomes snug. If these pants had a button waist instead of a snap, they would not pop open to easy.

Roc pants rock
I bought the original and the ultimate rock pants for daily work wear and the original is my favorite being a blue jean person they are heavier than the ultimates and you still have all the same benefits without the annoying button on the ultimates.

ROC rocks
I have purchased 6 pairs of Men's ROC Pants and love the fit and compfort. They are my favorite for work and casual. I only wish that they came in a larger selection of darker colors. All the ones I have are light.

Men's ROC Pant
Purchased a couple of pair of these pants, so far they are very lightweight and comfortable. Material does seem a little thin but that adds to the light weight and comfort. I've previously owned pants and shorts from Columbia and they were made of much heavier weight material. Time will tell how Rugged these pants will be and how they hold up.

I have purchased this product before and have always been satisfied with the quality and workmanship. Very durable as well. It seems these new ones run a little small as compared to the past. I had to return and reorder, but the next ones fit great.

Own Several Pair
I have purchased several pairs of these over the last couple of years. I still have them all. They wear very well and last a long time.
They do fit a little loose in the rear.
But all in all they are great and I am very happy with them. I just bought 3 more pair in case they quit making them.
They look good for casual or press a crease in them for business casual.

Although my husband has several pairs of Columbia pants these did not fit through the waist and I have returned for credit. I probably will not order on line again as I paid shipping for the product to me and then double shipping to return.

Great Pants
I own about 5 pairs of these. They are great except for the snap closure. They need a button. The snap comes undone with just a little pressure. The same thing has happened to a friend that is thin as well so I know it is just not me. Put a button on them and they would be perfect!

good product, not my size
Very comfortable pants, just didn't fit me right. I am a true 32x30 but these were tight in the waist and long in the inseam. If I fitted these in a store I would have kept them.

Baggy in the butt
These pants fit well in the waist but they are very baggy in the butt. They seem to be sized for overweight people. I'd really like it if you would make pants for normal weight people.

Great pants for every guy
Indoor or outside, these pants are great. I use them for winters in Georgia (I know not that cold, but we did have snow twice this year) for around the house, on the golf course, and just about everything else. Lots of pocket space with soft durable fabric.

Runs 2 inches small in Waist
Nice pants but ran 2 inches small in waist. I bought a pair of Lander pants and this pair. The Lander pants were perfect and these were too small.
