Women's Snow Hottie Parka 2 5 2 2
A little disappointed For how expensive this jacket costs, it should fit well and perform well . The Fit: For a lady thats tall (5'9") 160 pounds, the inside jacket is too short, the sleeve length fits great if you don't use what it's made for... as soon as you try to put your thumbs in the holes like its meant to be used for then it pulls too tight on your jacket arm sleeves and digs into your thumbs very uncomfortable... (just not made for longer arms), On the model on U Tube for Columbia, she is very tiny and short so it looks like the jacket should hit right below your hips which would be great, giving you the coverage you need in the cold. The inside jacket hits me at the top of my butt and when bending over slides up to my waist. (Not good if you are in snowy conditions trying to keep warm) I exchanged this from an L to an XL hoping it would give a touch more length but the parts they made bigger were the stomache area and maybe the neck area so it now poofs way out in the stomache and the neck is too wide, lets cold air in. The top of the inside jacket on the neck area keeps stabbing me in the chin when I look down, its made very stiff, which made my neck irritated by the end of the day but to keep warm you want to be able to zip this all the way up. I was so excited to receive this gift at Christmas since I am always cold and would be worth the price except for the fit and the heating elements don't seem to stay warm the entire time. On the highest setting, It starts off really warm , (on wrists, parts of my arm and on my sides which feels great. But then after about 20 minutes starts to fade . If the "brain" of the jacket is sensing when to turn it up or down that is NOT good if you are wanting it to stay at a certain temp and you should be able to control that. (the batteries were charged fully by the way) It also does not seem to heat up on my back area even though there are wires that I feel on that part of the jacket. I had to charge my batteries daily if I wore it for 4 hours on high. It's meant to keep you warm, yet I received an good quality down jacket from a different store and sadly, this keeps me warmer and keeps the cold air out more than this heated jacket with the parka. I couldn't wear longer or even normal length sweaters under it or it hangs out the bottom quite a bit looking funny if you are just wearing the inside jacket..It is also hard to wear even a thin sweater which you want to do during cold months as it's just too tight with your jacket thats another reason I went up in size which now looks ridiculous with the front being longer than the back and stomache area pooching out. I will be returning it. I just wish they made this better for the price. I wouldn't recommend this for a taller lady but maybe if your petite, this would fit you well. January 6, 2012
Needs perfecting Great idea but battery mechanism way too bulky and complicated. Mine worked for less than an hour on 1/2 power and then batteries would not charge the next night. Way too much $ for result and heavy to wear. I bought to be active and felt weighed down. January 5, 2012
