Wish I had heeded another review I wish I had heeded the review of another purchaser and gotten the jacket in the next larger size. As it was, I had to the leave the rain jacket at home and it was very much needed where I went on vacation. It had to fit over warmer clothes and that just as not going to happen. My advice order a size larger if you need to wear it over layers. May 10, 2013

Large was too big! I am 5'5, 160 and saw all the reviews that said the jacket runs small. Therefore, I ordered a large (especially to fit over the bust), however, I was swimming in it! It was large enough for probably 2 sweatshirts underneath, and was bulky in the arms.The length was also off- it was very long in the front and back, uncomfortably so.The glaze green is almost seafoam colored and reminded me of green scrubs at the doctors office.Loved the concept of the velcro band at the bottom, but was disappointed in the jacket sizing. Short and boxy, not stylish I was looking for a mesh-lined rain jacket that would be breathable and good for warm weather. I wanted something that was flattering and a bit longer cut---sort of the same shaping as the long Benton Springs hoodie, only a lightweight rain jacket. This was the only one that was mesh-lined and looked like it might work. Unfortunately, it is short and kind of boxy shaped, and not flattering at all. I'm sure it will get the job done, but longer rain jackets are more practical, and I wish this was cute. April 7, 2013
Beautiful but watch out for heavy rain! I bought the Sea Salt waterproof jacket. It fit perfectly and it was very beautiful. The only thing I have to mention is that after several hours of walking in the rain, the water started to get in through the not so steady hood. Also, I recommend to wear a fleece underneath if the weather is really cold, because this jacket is really light... April 1, 2013
All Around Quality This lightweight rain jacket is durable, roomy, and rain proof. I bought the navy and white, thinking that the white would stand out when walking in our rainy mornings, it does. I bought an XL, rather than a more fitted Large, as I wanted to wear warm clothes beneath, works perfectly for that.I appreciate a well made garment, and everything I have purchased from Columbia Sportswear has been top notch quality. A must in the wardrobe I purchased this jacket after having one similar to this from Columbia. It not only keeps me dry in the rain, it insulates on colder windy days. I still have my old one and use it for outside gardening etc. My two complaints would be that I purchased what I thought would be at least one size larger so that I could wear it over heavier clothes. However, it isn't as roomy as I had hoped. The other is that I would have liked more feminine colors. Still, I am very glad I purchased the jacket. The quality is excellent. March 12, 2013
This is a great jacket. The only problem I really had with this jacket is that hood. In really strong winds when it's raining, the hood tends to fall quite a bit. Other than that, it is a really great rain jacket and I recommend it to anyone! The color I have is great also which is the Velvet Morning. March 11, 2013
Good - but sweaty! I followed the advice of other reviewers and bought a size up. I happen to like jackets to fit with a little room, so I'm glad I did. I like the material, the look, the color (grape) and the feel of the jacket. The one negative is that it really does not breathe. I wore the jacket during a bike ride on a cool day, and it was pretty steamy inside by the end. It kept the wind and the (outside) water off, however, so I'm sticking with it. March 9, 2013

Burnt Henna Brighter Than You May Think I was imagining Burnt Henna to maybe be a little more maroon or rust like, but when I received that jacket it was very bright, very "salmon-y", a friend told me. LOVE! For the longest time, I've wanted a light rain jacket and I LOVE this jacket. I'm 5'1 and 120 lbs and I bought a medium. I like my jackets to be a little bigger, so I know I could wear a small, but the medium is super comfy. It won't really keep you warm in super cold weather, but wear a sweater underneath and you're set. The price is definitely worth it!PS. I bought the Glaze Green! The photo doesn't do the color justice, it looks blue, but it's a really pretty green. February 7, 2013
Not Breathable I do like the jacket, mostly in a little bit cooler of weather (40s-50s), it does its job and keeps the water out. However, it is not breathable! I often find myself sweating after wearing the jacket, mostly in warmer weather. The fit is good though. January 30, 2013
Now I have 2 I have this jacket in black and it is great. I have worn it in the rain & blowing cold in southern Texas and it is perfect. Women’s Arcadia Rain Jacket Bought this jacket for my wife for Christmas, fits perfect and she loves it. Ordered the jacket online and in order to confirm the jacket sizes, we went to a local Columbia Outlet store to check the size description and fit. I ordered the jacket online, because the local Columbia store did not have the size and color that me wife wanted. The Store manager was very helpful in describing the product and other similar jackets and he was aware that we were going to order the product online. January 10, 2013

Great Jacket We love this jacket! I bought it for my 15 year old daughter. She loves the fit, and the way it keeps her nice and dry. So far, so dry It's a nice jacket that'll get the job done in commuting on bike. I love the purple color I chose. I wish there was more pockets and under arm zippers for air. It's not a breathable as I'd like. It can become clammy feeling but you will stay dry. The hood is large enough to cover your head with extra material but not big enough for a helmet underneath. I ordered a S and it's big enough to wear a considerable size coat underneath.Got what I paid for. First time user of Columbia and shipment was prompt. November 12, 2012
Love it! This jacket is perfect for the San Francisco-breezy weather. It's light-weight but keeps me warm and if I don't need it right away it isn't too cumbersome to carry either. In terms of keeping me dry, this jacket succeeds but, as like most clothes when wet, the jacket becomes a bit heavier.OVERALL, THIS IS DEFINITELY A KEEPER. November 10, 2012

Nice but not for Layers If you are like me and have a larger chest you should buy a size bigger. I normally wear a medium or a small in tops. The Columbia fleece I have is a Medium and it fits perfect, so this is why I ordered a Medium in this jacket. This jacket in a size Medium is cut rather small in the chest area, so if you have a larger chest as in above a C and have a small waist I would recommend buying a size larger. The construction of the jacket is nice, I do not think it is made for late fall/winter cooler temperatures. I think it is made more for early mid spring and early fall temperatures. October 30, 2012
Light weight with great coverage I went with the Dark Plum which looks slightly darker online but I like the color received. I went with a size larger so that I had the option to wear sweaters underneath and I am satisfied with the fit. The jacket is so light weight which is really nice. velcro is not good I loved the jacket at first. Then, after the first wearing the jacket ruined an expensive scarf because of the velcro down the front. The velcro closes the jacket on top of the zippering. If left unzippered the velcro will catch on your scarf and cause catching of the material. Design flaw October 21, 2012
Practical functionality My last rain coat was a Marmot and it was a Medium. This Columbia is an Extra Large Women's. I am not Extra Large. I wear between size 10-12 in Misses or Petites or Med-Large. I like the Mesh inside the coat and the better quality of material. I don't like the velcro adjustment for the sleeves at the writst but there are not many who make elastic these days. The price was okay for this time of year. I think I paid $65. But, during regualar season it is over $100 and I would NEVER pay that much for a rain jacket! October 19, 2012
Good Quality After reviewing the comments about this jacket online I ordered one and was very happy with the design and quality. We plan to go to Costa Rica this winter and I wanted a light weight jacket that repels rain and water. This seems to fit my criteria and it's a very attractive style. Even though it is tailored, it still provides enough room for a light fleece jacket layer underneath. I think I will be very happy with this jacket, not only for traveling but for every day use. After reading the reviews, I decided to order an XL when I usually wear a L. I wouldn't want it any smaller, and it's a little snug if I wear a sweatshirt underneath; but still comfortable. Great product I read the reviews and this looked like a great jacket. I did go a size higher (med instead of small) from reading the reviews. I was glad I did, it gave room for a sweater under it and the cuff sleeves allowed me to adjust to my short stature. We were headed to Russia where it rains all the time so I knew I needed a good jacket. Just as we thought, it poured a couple days while there. But walking in the rain was no problem with this jacket. It repelled the water and had a great solid hood to keep me dry. I bought a black one and I know it will last a long time-made very well. Love this Jacket! This jacket fits perfectly and keeps me dry no matter what. The hood stays up even in the wind which I LOVE! It fits my curves perfectly and is very light weight but somehow still keeps me warm.I do wish the inside was lined with a thin layer of fleece or cotton just so the material wouldn't stick to me when I sweat but other than that, it is a fabulous product. How to measure
- Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- Waist: Measure around natural waistline, allowing tape measure to sit comfortably.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
- Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- Inseam: Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle.
