These boots do it all Spend many hours outside in all winter conditions. Needed a boot that is warm, lightweight, has good traction and keeps out the snow. These boots do all that. And they're nice looking, too. Bought them in April and thought I might be storing them until next winter but then we got a few storms, each with no less than 6" of snow--one dumped 15". Best and Warmest Boot I've Ever Worn!!! I work outside 5 - 6 days a week in all kinds of weather conditions year round here in Wisconsin. this product left me disappointed I am so disappointed with these boots. I have had a pair of bugaboots for almost 10 years and they have been great, but this year they started cracking. I'm going to see if they can be fixed but I wanted to get something else and I assumed that they would have kept the Bugaboot like they have made it for years. There is no padding inside this boot so it is nowhere near as comfortable as my old pair. Not to mention that it is taller and the back is stiff and it hits my calf in a bad place and it hurts. The boot looks great, but it does not compare to the 10 year old Bugaboot. I picked a size 10 since my old pair is a size 10 and because there is no padding or Thinsulate inside this boot was huge compared to my old pair. My old pair fit perfectly and always kept my feet warm and dry for snowshoeing and various other winter activities. The transition to Omni-Heat technology rather than Thinsulate makes the inside less comfortable and too big so I never actually wore it to know if it keeps my feet warm. The Bugaboot has been around for so long I would think that is becuase it has been a loved product, I don't know why they would change so many of the qualities of a previously popular item. Great in Purple Omni Heat is very functional, thin and keeps feet warm (even hot). Boots are a little bulky, but look/feel/wear is excellent. Would suggest 1/2 size bigger if you plan on thick socks. But with Omni Heat, you probably don't need the extra bulk!! Stiff for the first few wears, then soften up nicely. March 6, 2013
Great Boots! I have been looking for a pair of winter boots that are stylish and not too spendy but will keep my feet warm! These boots look nice and I only have to have one pair of socks on. They also have nice ankle support. I have only used them twice since their purchase which has mostly been for shoveling snow. Love 'em I purchased these boots to use for work (I work doing land surveying) and they have quickly become my favorite boots. My work takes me over a wide variety of different terrains (asphalt, yards, woods, marshes, wetlands and active construction sites) and they keep my feet warm and dry. The soles of the boot are great-they provide great traction and they do not hold too much mud or other debris in their soles/lugs. My feet also feel great after being on them for 8+ hours a day.In regards to the stiffness that others have mentioned, they do break in yet still retain the support that my ankles need for the various surfaces that I walk on.I have been in muck over my ankles and my feet remained dry and the boots cleaned up like new with a quick rinse from the hose.I love these boots for the colder weather and I just ordered a pair of the Original Bugaboot with Omni-heat for warmer weather. I'm in love! These boots are incredible! I live in Pittsburgh, so I know cold. These boots keep my toes nice and toasty warm (and the rest of my feet, too). At the same time, I can wear them all day in my office without my feet getting too hot. They're comfortable and pretty kick-@$$. The tops make my legs a little itchy unless I'm wearing tall socks or leggings, but they're worth it! February 21, 2013
Favorite Boots! I ordered these with a little hesitation, because I'm kind of stingy and hate spending much money on things like boots, coats, etc. But these boots are worth the money! Warm, comfortable, and durable. I've even worn them around my apartment a couple times when my feet were cold. :) I'm a size 8, and the fit seems to be true to size. They're roomy enough to wear wool or layers of socks, but if you don't want to do that, they won't be too loose. Highly recommended! February 21, 2013
Ankle very Stiff, can not drive with them on purchased to replace older model of Columbia Sportswear Bugaboot Plus Women's Winter Boot. These fit more like a ski boot, the ankle shaft is to tall, stiff and does not have the graduated back of the ankle part to walk comfortably. They run small and had to go up an size as the toe box is too narrow and my regular size that I wear in a boot made my toes go numb (with no sock or thin socks on). You are unable to drive with these on. Have been trying to break in with walking around the house, but still very stiff on your ankles. Gave it a 2 star as I usually love Columbia Brand February 13, 2013

Ripped! They have served their purpose: scooping snow from driveway and playing with the kids. But today after an outing in some snow drifts, my foot got wet - first time ever. The boot has ripped at the seam right where the upper meets with the rubber of the lower part. Not just a little, but all across the top of my foot and also in the back. And it wasn't even on my dominant foot. To look at it you would think they were run over by a car as the rubber has cracked and torn right by the seams. I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me. February 10, 2013

Bugaboot Plus (size 7 Turtle/Fawn) The boots are much easier to get your foot into (wide feet with high arch/instep) than the prior model. Nice for wide feet, but this model in a 7 fits more like an 8 (is notably longer than prior version). Nice and light, feels comfortable to walk in and keeps your feet comfortable (not too hot or cold). I do wish they had metal grommets like the prior version, would make lacing up a bit easier. Warm work boot I bought these boots to replace a pair of Bugaboots I've had for about ten years that finally split. The new ones are just as comfortable, at least as warm and a bit more stylish. I use the boots for work in an oudoor nursery, and for light gardening and general standing around in the cold and wet. Love these boots These boots are so comfortable right out of the box. Walked in them on ice and snow with out any worry of slipping. Wore them snowshoeing and snowmobiling and they were worm and comfortable. I wear them with thicker socks to take up room as I have a narrow foot. I wear a 8.5 or a 9 in other boots. I got the 9 so I could wear extra socks if needed but there is still room. Not a big deal because they lace up nicely and stay snug. January 23, 2013
Floored!! Listen, I never even imagined " immediate warmth" in a boot or shoe until I stuck my foot inside of this boot. You just load up on the socks and buy 1/2 size up to accomodate when buying boots for outdoor work. I slid my foot in and Cinderella's experience has nothing on mine! I called up my outdoor work buddies and raved like I gave birth to your boots. One pair of socks, true to size, light weight, and I didn't have to buy a man's boot and guess what size is equivalent to my 81/2 womens.. Really nice boots I love these boots so far, i live in wisconsin and its been a mild winter so i haven't been able to wear them in a blizzard yet. They seem to fit well, only thing is that i will have to break them in. I think driving in them might be a little difficult. January 19, 2013
Comfy and warm, breaks in fine I normally have cold feet all the time and since I started commuting into Chicago this year, I wanted to be prepared for any weather. These boots have been both comfortable and dry so far. I understand that some people were saying they were stiff and they are for about a week while you wear them in. At first it was a little difficult to drive in them because of this. A few weeks in I can say they are the best boots I've ever had. Fit was true as well. The style was also perfect because I wanted something that looked more like a gym shoe then a boot under pants for everyday use. January 18, 2013
Good For Walking I bought this to walk my dog on the snowmobile trails. My other shoes don't have good traction so it was a struggle. The tread on this boot is really good and makes the walking much easier. The top is a little stiff but still feels comfortable. I wear a 9.5 shoe and found that I did need a thicker sock but that is ok with me. January 18, 2013
Nice Boot I had read previous reviews about this boot and I'll have to agree that the boots are a bit stiff, but this can be very helpful where footing is unsure. I'm not sure I could go out hiking in these right away, but I know once they are broken in I'd have no problem. The boots are plenty warm, dry as a bone, and look good too.Driving is less than a breeze with the boots on due to beginning stiffness. January 18, 2013

Light weight and comfortable I bought these boots for work. I work indoors, I was interested in this particular boot because they are waterproof, light weight, and warm. This way I do not have to change my boots when coming in from the outside. They are a little stiff until broken in but they are very comfortable and they do not make my feet hot, they are kept at a perfect temperature. And my favorite part is just a little bit of color to make them pretty as well as functional! January 7, 2013
just what I needed! Have bunions. Walk two Nordic breed dogs three times a day no matter the weather. Snow and frigid temps are the norm here by Lake Erie.Boots have nice wide toe box. Women’s Bugaboot® Plus Omni-Heat definitely need to break them in! wouldn't recommend wearing them while driving a vehicle until you break them in pretty good. haven't quite gotten the chance to use them that often due to the weather being mild and all. they were true to size for me; however, I did wear a pair of heavy socks with them. not sure if wearing regular socks would make a difference. will have to try that out sometime. Great for Snowshoeing! I'm not the type to usually review products online, but these boots certainly deserve it! I purchased these to wear with my snowshoes--the construction is solid enough to ratchet the shoes on securely, and light weight which is a bonus! Most importantly: I wore these boots every day for a week-- my feet were the perfect temperature the during each excursion (my feet are nearly always too cold) and the boots left no bruises or blisters from all of the hiking. Love these boots I have never been somebody who enjoys the snow because I am always cold and I don't handle being cold well. My friend recommended these boots to me and said that they are lightweight and they will keep my feet really toasty without having to wear multiple pairs of socks. These statements were so true!!! The boot fit very comfy. My feet stayed very warm while I was snow-shoeing for my first time ever!!! I would defiently recommend these boots!!! They were a little stiff when I first got them but I wore them around my house for a couple hours a day before my snow-shoeing trip and with that little wearing they fit and weren't as stiff for my snow-shoeing trip! Lifghtweight and warm! Love the boots! My feet typically sweat with winter boots. These keep my feet dry and comfortable indoors and have had them in 0 degree weather outdoors and keep my feet warm. Warm boot! This boot is not very cute, but it is extremely warm. The fit is true to size, no need for extra socks!It is also very lightweight for a boot, which makes it easier to trek through the snow. Overall serves purpose well. What a boot! I decided to replace my clunky Sorels with a smaller, lighter boot, but I wanted the same warmth for these Montana winters. The clerk convinced me these were the best boots made today, so I tried them and liked the fit. So far they have proven themselves on ice (great grip), snow (nicely warm) and slush (waterproof and cleans easily). Take it from me, these are fabulous boots. December 13, 2012
Warm Winter Hiking Boot I got these boots to have some warm winter boots that have good traction. They are fantastic! The little silver Omni-heat dots on the inside really do make a difference in keeping my tootsies toasty! I asked a boot expert and these would be great for winter hiking/backpacking too. Though they did say I'd be sweltering in the summer so I wouldn't reccommend them for a summer hiking boot.PS, I got mine in the black and pink and they're Super Cute! December 2, 2012
Need to be broken in I must preface this review by saying that I've only warn these boots a few times, so they are not fully broken in yet.That being said, ouch! These boots are very stiff around the ankles and can pinch hard enough to make your toes a bit numb, even with the laces tied at different levels of tightness. The first 3 days I wore these, I had to take them off after a few hours because my toes were starting to hurt from being numb for so long.HOWEVER (and this is a big one!), each time I have worn them, this has been less and less of an issue. I work as an outdoor educator, so I'm outside and on my feet all day, every day. Today was the 4th day I've worn these boots and they hardly gave me any discomfort during the 15 hrs (and 4+ miles of hiking) I had them on. So, I'm feeling optimistic that they will be as comfortable as all of my other Columbia gear by the end of the week!As far as warmth goes, these boots rock. I'd never bought anything with OmniHeat technology before (thinking it was kind of a gimmick) and these boots definitely have me converted! We've had some cold weather the past few days (mid-low 20s) and my feet stayed toasty warm all day with just hiking socks!I haven't had a chance to take them out in the snow yet, so I can't speak to how they'll perform there. But I did hike up a (partially dried up) creek bed in them today and stepped in some pretty intense "puddles" (4-6" deep). These boots stopped any and all leaks from getting through! Can't wait to take them out in the snow.The bottom line:These boots seem to rock. Be patient with them at first, since they do require some breaking in. But they seem to be worth it so far! Perfect! I ordered these online a week before our trip to Grand Lake, CO to spend a week hiking in Rocky Mount Nation Park in mid-October. These boots were absolutely wonderful! Great for scrabbling up steep rocks and light-enough for our day-hikes. I wore these the whole week we were there, including in the cabin at night as semi-house-shoes! The fit was perfect, even with a thick mountaineering sock, and I did not have to wear them in before hiking in them. And they were true-to the name, snow proof. During our last 2 days in CO we got to test out the snow-proofing, yay! I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone considering. October 30, 2012

liked my old ones better I bought myself a pair of this type of boot in 2004.I loved the style the comfort and it always kept my foot warm up until this year 2012.They finally ripped.So i went to get another pair and I would have to say they are no way as good as my old ones.They hurt my ankles and were really stiff.i didn't like them at all.It felt like i was walking in a ski boot.It was awful.So i would like to know if your company has any of the old ones left at all from 2000-2004.If so how can i buy them.They were the best boots i ever had and lots of people where i live in NH are really upset about not being able to find that boot style and finding out its not being sold anymore.I need a woman's 10 1/2.If you can help me that would be wonderful.You have my contact info on file.some boots just should stay the same and never go out of style.So if its not broke don't fix it.Thank you for your time. Even better than before! I bought the Bugaboots in the early 90's and loved them. I never had cold feet ever no matter how cold. I also loved the traction on the bottom. Never slipped around while wearing them. They finally wore out and I looked for new ones. WOW - they were back and they were taller than the old style one's which was my only complaint of my former boots. So they are perfect as far as I am concerned. I also liked the color choices. Stiff vice Between me and my husband there are FOUR pairs of Columbia boots in the house and all serve us well and are fabulous. For this latest pair, I find it hard to believe that a prototype ever was on a human being. It feels like my feet are in a plaster cast. I can walk around in my husband's size eleven Bugatech Omni with more ease of movement. What could have happened. Because I was so happy with Columbia I wore these out anyhow thinking it must be me --- not so -- after four wearings my shins and back hurt and I can't return them!!! We walk variously around country and streets close to two hours every day. What a disappointment. February 9, 2012
My boots are made for comfort and protection :) Five of my co worker reccomended these boots to me since they were all black and light weight. I am outside for my job so it's uniform approval :) I am very glad these boots are light weight. I am a petite woman and when I wear boots I always feel like I have to use force to lift up my legs when walking in boots, but not these:) I also love how my toes have lots of room to wiggle around and they are kept warm and dry:) Thank you :) February 1, 2012

Warm boots! I bought these boots for my outdoor job at a ski area when my Sorel Caribou boots didn't keep my feet warm enough. The Bugaboots keep my feet warm and toasty, the fit is true to size and the traction is good. I buy all of my boots a half size larger than my street shoes. I would definitely recommend these boots for working or playing in the snow. I also plan to use them with my snowshoes. January 1, 2012
Great Boots Beautifully designed, light weight but very warm. I bought a pair for myself and am now buying a pair for my daughter-in law. We live in Wyoming and it gets quite cold here and icy. I love my boots because they keep my feet warm without sweating and I don't slip on the ice. This pair I just bought were a bit too small (1/2 size or so) we are reordering up one size!
