Women’s Bugaboot® Plus Zip Electric 3.8 5 6 6
Essential for Outdoor Workers I work outside, and spend about 4-5 hours standing under a tent to make sales about 5 days a week. We aren't moving around much, so the cold and sometimes frozen ground really gets through to your bones and fatigue sets in if you're not well prepared. I bought my first pair in December, and loved them. The left boot heating element stopped working after 3 weeks for some reason, but I called up Columbia to troubleshoot and when we couldn't get a solution, I was able to get a new pair sent/send my old ones back without having to be without the boots. The second pair I got as a replacement are working just fine. I did have some irritation with the wires digging into my ankles, but here's the fix---stick a bottle of Malibu rum in your boot overnight, at an angle, and it'll push the form of the boot right back out. I also feel that these are boots that need to be "broken in", they do feel a bit stiff at first almost like snowboarding boots, but within a few weeks, they really start to mold to your foot and become very comfortable. With the insulation of the boots, I don't even need to turn them on until about 2 hours into my tent events. If you work outside and are wondering if they're worth it, they REALLY do the trick and I can't imagine working in the cold without them now. I have also worn them while playing disc golf in the woods and the traction also exceeded my expectations. They are true to size. These are also great boots to show off to people-most people have never heard of "electric boots", I have become their best salesperson because I tell everyone about them! January 27, 2012
Nice Looking but stiff The boots look really good and seem to be of high quality. However, they are very stiff and seem to restrict foot movement and were not comfortable. December 27, 2011
Nice boots...but not for a muscular calf The boots are nice. The heat works well. But, for those with a larger calf, the fit is not great. Have to wear them zipped down about 1/3 of the way. Would not pay full price for these. December 27, 2011
left foot i love these boots, but my left ankle bone is rubbing the wire on the inside making my ankle bone sore. i have tried to move the wire but it won't bugde. the right side is just fine. The heat is wounderful. the chargers are easy to setup. Love them but my ankle bone does not December 19, 2011
An essential for anyone with Raynauds I have Raynauds Disease. This causes my toes to freeze/go blue in cool weather. I wear these boots almost daily. I am very pleased with the heat function. It feels like I have a little mini heater in them. There is plenty of room for my feet, thus the heat is dispersed around my foot and provides a very comfortable warmth. They fit snug around the ankle which allows them to fit well with the roomy foot area.Cons: I had issues with one of the battery packs not working. Columbia support tried to help, but eventually told me I must send the boots to their warrantee department. This could take 6 to 8 weeks to get them back. Since one of my batteries is working and winter has started, I decided to wait until after the coldest months to return the boots for repair. The warrantee lasts one year. The flap that opens to insert the battery pack is a bit restricted, making it difficult to remove the battery pack. This would not be an issue if I did not have to move my one working battery pack between the two boots. Also, the boots are a little stiff around the ankles. It is nice they are snug, but after wearing them for several weeks, the hard leather area around the ankles have developed "wear bends" and tend to push into my ankle after a few hours.I would have preferred the fuzzy faux fur top be removable (I'm the type of person to wear my jeans outside of my boots).Overall, I would buy them again without hesitation. I may also purchase some of their other Electric boots. The heating function is amazing. Even without the heat turned on, my feet stay comfortably warm. December 9, 2011
