Women’s Ramble Rain™ Jacket 4.3 5 34 34
good in light rain I bought this jacket to wear on an 8-mile hike on the Olympic Peninsula. It was pouring rain the entire time and the overhead brush was also dripping incessantly. I could tell the rain was getting through my jacket because I could feel it making its way through my fleece and other clothing (in some patches - right elbow for example - it was very bad). When I took the coat off at the car I found the entire inside was slightly damp. My other clothes protected me from that but if I'd been just wearing a tee or single layer under it I would have had to ride home with a drenched, see-through top. I also have issues with the zipper. Mine sticks so badly that I need to really fuss with it to get it on and off. The jacket is, however, cut nicely and I found the hood easy to keep on and protective. I'm very, uh, gifted in the hip region and have no problems with the fit. Another big plus is that I can really move my arms and shoulders around (came in handy on a fishing trip). Overall, I think this is a great in-city jacket when paired with an umbrella and I'd recommend it to others for that purpose. For extreme conditions, no. May 5, 2012
perfect for packing This coat packed into my small shoulder bag and was always ready to keep me dry and stylish while traveling in Italy. I am 5 ft. 8 in. tall and the fit was perfect with or without a sweater. April 25, 2012
Res, not henna and waaaay small! I was so thrilled to find this coat online. My husband has a jacket of the same fabric and I loved it so..... I went online and ordered my typical XL (5'10") and when it got here I was sorely disappointed. It is bright RED, not Henna, not even related to the Henna on the screen. Even more important, it is a really small XL - especially in the chest. I've been trying on a lot of XL jackets as of late and this is by far the tightest. Come on folks! I typically LOVE the Columbia brand, so this is a big disappointment. April 17, 2012
Rain, rain, go away This rain jacket certainly lives up to the Columbia standards! The fit is roomy and comfortable. The jacket repels water wonderfully! April 7, 2012
Great jacket for rambling. I was looking for a rain jacket on the city casual side of fashion. I bought one of jackets for my daughter and she loved it. The fabric is soft and drapes, rather than being "crunchy" like most other jacket material. The color is a pretty bluish grey. My daughter's jacket was tank green and she bought the surplus green Avais Long Shell to go with it. It was the perfect pairing between shell and jacket. March 27, 2012
Almost perfect Great rain coat- nice color (white) very lightweight, great length. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating is that the hood is too small to keep the rain off your face. I am 5 foot 8 inches and 140 lbs - and the medium fits fine. It would be a bit snug with a heavy fleece or sweater under it, but a lightweight top/sweater works fine. March 25, 2012
Cute!! I was hesitant to buy a longer rain jacket but now after having it, I am beyond happy about it! I am 5'9, 145 lbs and got a Medium. It fits so cute! I get compliments everytime I wear it! I have long arms and the sleeves fit but I would not mind another inch or so. The length hits about 1/3 the way down my thigh. The cut is definitely made for women and has a super slimming cut. My first time wearing it it poured and I was the only one in my group that stayed dry! I am super impressed with how light weight it is too. I was a little surprised at the color though. I thought the burnt henna would be more of a greyed/coral but it was very red. I thought it was cherry bomb at first. But, I think I almost like it better just because it is so diffrent from everyone else's rain jackets. Best rain coat I've ever owned! March 8, 2012
Nice design, but fits small I have not used this jacket yet so I don't know how it fares in the rain. However, if you are a buxom size 16, you will find that the jacket is a bit tight across the chect. Don't plan on layer underneath! February 20, 2012
Not what I was expecting Based on all of the reviews I was expecting a better fit and a nicer quality than some of the cheaper versions I've owned in the past. Not so much. I'm a fairly stout, petite woman and need to accommodate the girls so I ordered a Large because of the numerous recommendations. Way too big. It was like I ordered a man's coat. There are no darts in the back and the sound of the material is a bit crunchier than others reported it. It is so my style and would be great for commuting, cycling, etc. I will return it for a Medium to see if that changes things. :/ January 25, 2012
Great Jacket I love this jacket! It fits perfect and keeps me dry! January 4, 2012
It's red The only thing I found disappointing about this jacket was the color. It appeared more of a coral color on the computer screen, and when I received it, it was RED. Otherwise, I am pleased. December 29, 2011
beautiful and breathable The metal is a gorgeous bluish gray with a shimmer, very pretty, and the material breathes! Unlike a NorthFace jacket with similar claims, which I returned. November 11, 2011
Great Jacket This is a great jacket! I work for a school district and I'm outside alot. This is perfect for those fall rainy days when you don't need a heavy jacket. I have two of these Ramblin Hoodie Jackets (black and sea salt white). One of the best Columbia purchase I've made!! October 13, 2011
Perfect! Exactly what I needed. Cuffs velcro tight to keep rain out, unzips from bottom so it doesn't bunch-up when riding in the car, light weight, nice lenght! October 1, 2011
Really love Ramble Rain Jacket! This is my first Columbia jacket and I love it! The cut is very feminine, fitted just enough. I have really long arms and the sleeves are cut great. Love the longer back to give extra protection. Wore it for the first time here in Philly for the remnants of Tropical storm Lee; kept me nice and dry! Great hunter green color too. September 7, 2011
smallish hood I took one star off because the hood may keep my head dry but not my face. Otherwise, very flattering raincoat. I'm 5'5" 115 lb and it fits perfectly. September 2, 2011
Stylish AND Functional! Love this jacket! It has a feminine silhouette and gives a very sleek profile, yet has plenty of room. At the same time it has great functionality with the water-resistance and the hood. The weight is light, just right for NW spring, summer, fall. A keeper! July 16, 2011
Great rain jacket Great rain jacket -- waterproof and lined for extra warmth/wind protection. Bought a large (even though I'm a small/medium) so that I can layer it. Length long enough to cover your hips. Hood has easily adjustable tabs. White color makes me more visible when I'm out in diminished daylight. July 10, 2011
Great coverage I was really pleased when I tried on this rain jacket. The fit was feminine. More importantly, the rain coat covered my hind parts, zipped up high to protect my neck and shoulders, and the hood protects my hair. Very lightweight. June 10, 2011
Nice raincoat This is the best raincost I've ever had.... It goes over my work clothes and weekend wear and looks great. The cut is very flattering too. June 1, 2011
Love it! Color came out better than I expected. Got Tank and came to be more green. Terrific surprise. ^_^ I got a large even though I'm a medium in shirts, and it fits pretty nicely. Good thing I didn't go for the medium! The only problem I seem to have is the zipper. It DOES get stuck often, but I manage to zip it up or get it undone after a few attempts. Still a great jacket for the rain though! Rolls right off and is very light. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. :3 May 28, 2011
Just what I wanted This jacket fits me perfectly. The longer length is great for shedding rain when I go on long walks. Every jacket with a zipper should zip both up and down. And this one does! Nice too, to have the snaps for a quick closure. I recently was on a garden tour and out in the RAIN for 3 hours. This jacket shed the wet stuff perfectly. May 27, 2011
Love your new fits! Finally, those of us who are smaller (but not shorter) can fit into more Columbia product. I had the Ramblin Rodie in XS and bought this in a S. I am a small in every other brand and now in Columbia too making ordering online much easier. It fits just right and room for a light fleece underneath. (I am 5'5" and 125lbs) The hood cinch is much improved although would have liked to keep the more subtle cord management like the Rodie, the snaps down the storm flap are fine (long hair sticks to velcro so thanks for not using that), the velcro cuff adjuster is more functional than that snap version, pleats at CB are flattering, drop hem is great! Overall, very slimming and great colors. May 20, 2011
ramble rain jacket I've never bought anything from Columbia but I really love this jacket! It's perfect. The color is better then I thought it would be. A comforting jacket for rainy days that is versatile. May 11, 2011
SO PLEASED Bought this jacket because I didn't have a spring/rain/fall jacket to speak of. It's perfect. I bought a Medium (5'2" and 130lbs). Seems true to size to me....and I love that the back is longer than the front! All around, it was a great purchase! May 5, 2011
Wonderful jacket, but runs small Fabulous jacket! It is light weight and keeps me dry. I like the longer length and the great color (burnt sienna). Just order a size up! May 3, 2011
Meets Expectations I love the color(I got burnt henna) and the style but it is slightly smaller than expected. April 22, 2011
Good color The color of this jacket is great. The sleeve length is excellent. The hood is good. The only weird thing is the zipper and associated buttons down the front. It's a difficult zipper and I wish it had velcro instead of buttons. The buttons and the deep pocket location make it bunch up around the middle - not very flattering. April 14, 2011
Exactly what I wanted The fit true to size, the fabric is perfect and actually water proof. Is light weight, not bulky. Nice enough to wear on any occasion. I'll be wearing this coat for years to come. I'm very pleased. March 30, 2011
Sizing runs small The fabric on this jacket is great - rain rolls off it. However, it runs small- so buy a size bigger. March 13, 2011
Love - minus the zipper This is the first Columbia rain jacket I have owned and was very excited when it finally rained and I was able to wear it. The material is so soft and comfortable, not like most crackly rain jackets. The only problem I have found is the difficulty of getting the double zipper started as well as getting the zippers apart when I am taking it off. Other than that I love it, the fit is great and flattering. I love the longer back as well so you don't sit on wet benches. March 2, 2011
rew Just got this in white - it is fine and I like it for the most part, but was disappointed because I have two of the Ramblin' Rodie jackets and LOVE them so much. I wanted another one and see that you have discontinued them in favor of this product. It is OK, but not nearly as flattering in the fit and shape - esp the back. If I did not like the Rodie's so much, would have been happy with this - I am sorry you made the switch. February 11, 2011
Great Jacket My daughter bought me the Ramblin' Rhodie jacket a couple of years ago and I love it. For her birthday, she asked for one just like it so I purchased the Ramble Rain for her. It is another fantastic product from Columbia! The sleeves now have velcro instead of snaps (I kind of prefer the snaps). The only other minor complaint we would have is that the new version is slightly shorter than the old one. We both wanted a longer jacket to keep us dry so I wish they hadn't shortened it. Other than that, it is still a great jacket and we both love it. I can always count on Columbia for comfort and fit. I love your products!! January 19, 2011
YES! FINALLY, a rain jacket that fits! I am a consistent size 16, 5' 11" and have found that "gear" often runs quite small on me. I recently ordered the Ramblin' Rhodie jacket, and while it was a great jacket the XL fit like a sausage casing and the 1X felt like a large trash bag. Enter the Ramble Rain- the XL fits like a glove! The fabric is less noisy than others, it is flattering and the collar actually lays flat when open- no poking the neck/ sticking up or out! The one note I have- the photo shows a gather of fabric at the top of the back and it does not exist on the jacket I received. Nonetheless, it fits and is way cuter than the average rain jacket and I am thrilled! December 25, 2010
