Used this on a trip around the world
This jacket was a fantastic purchase for my trip around the world!
Wore it in Paris, southern France in Nov, Beijing at 25F and walking the Great Wall of China, hiking glaciers in New Zealand, traveling in high altitude (16,000ft) deserts of Bolivia, snowshoeing/x-country skiing in Minnesota and commuter cycling in Boston. I loved its multifunctionality; fashionable enough to wear into museums/restaurants and technical enough w/Omni-Heat to keep me warm. Also, I loved that it came with its own stuff sack, (that I stuffed the jacket in an used as my pillow at night during my trip). Two things to keep in mind: It's a fitted down jacket. I'm a size 6 and 5' 7" with slightly broad shoulders and the size medium was perfect. Someone with a larger chest may want to consider sizing up or choosing one of Columbia's more relaxed fit down jackets. Also, it's not completely windproof, but because of the non bulky fit I put my rain shell over it and was great. Great design and color!

another vote for form over function
Beautiful color, awesome fit, warm enough. The arms are SNUG, but then I'm not built like a bicycle, so I thought it was just me. According to other reviews, this is a common point. The stretch panels allow cold air in, which is distracting, if not truly annoying. Very little leeway to layer under. I ordered a large and it fits well, but def closer fitting than the Mighty Lite in same size. If you're buying for warmth, I recommend the ML, which is warmer, lighter, and looser fitting, but still very flattering.
I'm no designer, but I think 1/4 to 1/2" in the arms would maintain the sleek fit but allow for a little something more underneath.
Like others, I love the look of this jacket enough to overlook the drawbacks. The color I ordered is not one I'd wear every day so the fit issues are not a huge concern.

Disappointed
I love the omni heat, but the outside of the jacket feels cheap. The feathers are always coming out of it and I barely touched the wall and it snagged my jacket. I don't feel like this jacket is worth the $200 I paid for.

Great looking but a little lacking in function
This jacket is lightweight and I love the look of the super feminine slim design. Be aware that it fits VERY close to the body. After wearing this out and about for one week, a lot of the feathers started popping through the exterior fabric, which is too bad because it's black and really noticeable. I also find that this jacket "runs" a little cooler than my other down jackets. The stretch panels are slimming, but they let a lot of cold air through into the jacket and kind of defeat it's insulating purpose. The only reason I'm recommending it is because it looks so dang cute on!

Great slimming jacket
Loved the jacket, however, does run slightly small. I am a medium and had to order the large. Jacket does keep you very warm and is extremely light. Would recommend it to others.

Favorite Coat Ever!
Purchased this coat for myself at Christmas and havent stopped wearing it (partly because if I take it off my teenage daughter takes it) Love the fit of the jacket being so snug...after having read other reviews about the fit, I would disagree and say that I actually went down a size and purchased the XS. I too am 5'5, small framed at 120lbs and normally would be a Small. I will say that I am usually only wearing a thin long sleeve Under Armor shirt underneath, as I use this jacket in Colorado for my 6 mile walks. Do not find it constrictive at all...in fact it is so comfortable because of the stretch insert that runs down the sides of the jacket and also the underneath of the arms. I have worn this jacket in weather as cold as 10 degrees, and because of the omni heat...I tend to start getting hot within my first mile.

Perfect Fit
I really love this jacket. It has a great fit and omni heat is great.

Great Fitting Practical Jacket
I ordered the large initially due to reviews I read, and it was too large. I am a true medium and the medium jacket fit me perfectly. The jacket is form fitting and warm - a great fall and spring coat.

Love it!
I received this coat as a Christmas gift. I absolutely love the look of it!! It is very fitting; not bulky at all! I have already gotten LOTS of compliments on it! :-) However, it does run a little snug. I typically wear a small, but the smalls were out of stock which worked out perfectly because I got the medium and it fits great! It isn't as warm as I expected, but overall I'm happy with it!

What a surprise
I bought this as a gift for my daughter, she needed a warm coat for the cold winters in Michigan. It was so thin and lightweight I thought it was a mistake and planned on returning after Christmas ( I needed something for her to open) Well, as thin and lightweight as it is, it is plenty warm enough. It is a great slimming style, and with contrasting colors and materials it is very attractive. Most importantly, my daughter loved it and it keeps her warm. I read some remarks regarding sizing, my daughter is a size 7, the medium is an ideal fit in arms length and shoulder width; I hope that helps.

Great for skiing
I bought this jacket to wear over a snug baselayer and under a shell. It worked perfectly in this capacity. It is indeed very flattering but is a snug fit. I am 5'4" 145lbs, and 38 D. I had to go with the XL. It is just the smallest bit big in the shoulders but overall very flattering. The sleeves are snug but with a tight baselayer this coat worked very well for skiing. I don't think I can wear it for skiing without a shell over it. It would be the perfect ski jacket if it could be engineered to be windproof as well as warm! It could be an inch or two longer.

Excellent Jacket!
I have rarely had people stop me and comment on an article of clothing before, however, this jacket has people doing that very thing. The color is vivid and true; it IS tight...so order a size larger; it is very warm and snuggly, very comfortable. It gives one a great looking silhouette, need I say more? If you want a big cozy coat with lots of big pockets (and I have had one of those for about ten years) this is not for you. But if you want a fun, really toasty and fetching jacket...order it...just order it one size up!

Great look and function
i have always been leery of the "puffy" jacket however the cut on this coat is very flattering. it looks great on, isn't bulky and it is very warm. I love it. You may want to jump up a size as it is a tailored fit. I normally wear a small jacket but i got the medium and it fits great.

Recommended with reservations
I agree with the poster from Eugene. The fit is indeed slenderizing, it is very form-fitting and I would think flattering for most people. I love the color. However, I'm also really surprised by how narrow the arms are cut, and they don't stretch much. I'm 5'5 inches, 110 pounds and a small bone frame, and I definitely could not wear a sweater under this, or anything more than a thin thermal - and I still don't feel that I can move my arms completely. It is also cut rather shorter on the hips than my Columbia down vest.
Even so - I like it. I may go in and try on a large to see if that fits more comfortably. I'm usually a small, or a medium at most in their products. So yes, I think I can see where they were going with the design - form-fitting, feminine, not bulky and flattering - but I think they may have overshot the mark a bit on this one.

Super cute!
This jacket is great! Very form-fitting and girlie not like most warm jackets that make you look like you swallowed a foam sofa. A great fit. I'm 5'10" and have long arms and got the Large and it fits perfectly. not bulky and weird. Who needs to look Wider than they need to. This jacket is a slenderizer. Get one before they're gone.

Love this Jacket!!!!
I got this jacket in both the black and the grey and I am keeping both! The grey is so pretty (a sort of blue grey). This is going to be my go to jacket this winter. It's light weight so it will be great for traveling and I can even wear it under heavier coats on those really cold and blustery days here in Chicago!

So much potential, so little real use.
Big disappointment with this coat. Body of coat is good, but the arms are incredibly snug. This coat binds at the shoulders and the arm holes are tight; arms so small there is no room for body to build heat. Could easily chafe if you attempted to actually reach the peak with this coat.
Not even comfortable driving.
Needs an additional inch in arm holes and an inch in circumference of arms. Too tight to wear even with just a single base layer. I am 5'51/2 and 120 pounds, small frame woman. Ordered a medium.
Something happened between design table and end product. Can't believe this was original concept...
