Constructed with a durable textile and leather upper and secure mid-height design, these burly shoes provide the support and abrasion resistance of a boot so you can take on all kinds of terrain with confidence. Waterproof-breathable Omni-Tech keeps feet dry and comfortable in inclement weather and the contoured comfort footbed creates a cozy, supportive environment to prevent foot fatigue. We’ve incorporated a de-coupled heel design to absorb shock and provide a fantastic fit where you need it most. Good boots I bought these for a Geology field trip a few days before I left. I was a little worried about breaking them in for the first time but they really didn't require any. My ankles were a little swollen after wearing them for 3 days straight but they held up well and didn't give me any blisters. We were hiking on fairly rough terrain and climbing up some rough rock faces and these worked great. They do run small, I wear an 11 but based on other reviews bought a 12 and they fit perfectly with thick hiking socks. The toe box is quite roomy which I really like. May 10, 2012

Most comfortable hiking boot ever I haven't fully gotten a chance to test these out yet. My intended use was to take them over some of the rock scrambles out here in WV. Even the trail hiking is pretty rocky and warrants ankle support.That said, totally waterproof, and most definitely the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned in my whole entire life, out of the box. They're lighter than my current running shoe (an Asic) more supportive, and incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommednc this shoe April 4, 2012

Love this boot! I have never had a pair of Columbia shoes. I finally decided I needed a good pair of shoes for winter since my dog & I walk every day. That includes Wisconsin winters. They are so comfortable and there was no break in period at all! I read the reviews and decided to order a half size larger. That was a good decision. These are great boots and I will order them again. February 9, 2012

Light & Comfortable I purchased these boots to have a light work boot for around the house/farm. Although I've only worn them a few times, they are very comfortable. Really no break in period. As mentioned in other reviews, be sure to order one size larger than you generally wear. The toe box area is just a hair narrow. January 14, 2012

light comfort I really wear a size 4 1/2 shoe but purchased the 5. It fits perfectly. I like the wider toe box and the light feel of the shoe. I have only worn it once in the snow yesterday and it kept my feet dry. October 9, 2011

Women's Shasta Ridge Hiker boot I was searching for a durable hiker boot that I can wear in the rough Iraq terrain. My co-worker suggested Columbia. I read the reviews from other customers about this boot so I knew to order it a size bigger. I was truly amazed that they had a size 12 (I wear an 11). They are perfect! Now I need a coat for the Iraq winter, I think I will order one from Columbia. You all have a new customer. August 19, 2011

Great boot! I originally ordered a size 11, which is what I wear in tennis shoes, but since I'll be wearing these with hiking socks I sent them back and got a size 12. I've been wearing them around my house to break them in, and they're really comfortable! I'm wearing them on a 2 week camping trip that's coming up, and I know that I'll have great ankle support on my trip. July 31, 2011
