Women's Melting Point Parka 3.5 5 8 8
This is one toasty warm jacket! Warm and dry! and color great! also like the hip length to keep the buns toasty too! had to get this jacket for travel where moving from cool to cold to warm to wet to dry.....wanted hood, removable liner, waterproof! this one does it all! and nice teal color September 11, 2012
Not what I expected I have been enjoying the same Columbia winter coat for two years now but decided to upgrade after gaining a dress size. I ordered the Women's Melting Point Parka in medium since my previous one piece coat was a small, but when it arrived it was actually smaller than my small. That's not sarcasm, I got the old coat out of the closet to compare the two and sure enough - the new coat was in fact smaller than the old one. The area in which the difference was most evident was in the arm-pit. The Melting Point Parka was uncomfortably tight in the arm-pit and I had only a tshirt on underneath. I also expected the inner layer to zip into the outer shell but it did not. They are two separate articles that in no way become one. Aside from the arm-pit issue, the outer shell would have made a fine cool-weather jacket, but the price of this combo is too high to justify using only the outer shell. September 4, 2012
great for Spring This parka is great for me, but only for Spring Im thinking. Im wearing it now and its May... yeah. I live in Oregon so its a year round deal here.My concern with this parka is if it will be warm enough for the actual Winter. Im not sure it will be. Its warm but I got cold wearing it at the bus stop and it was only 45. So.... we shall see. May 2, 2012
Great jacket I love this jacket. Very warm, fits great. I am 5 foot 6 inches about 110 pounds and I bought a small. Only downside is that the inner lining does not zip into the shell, requiring you to zip it up separately. March 13, 2012
Good funtionality I'm so glad I got this one. It keeps me warm but is also just so cute. I ordered the gray stripe with red liner and I get compliments on it all the time. The two pieces are both cute and functional on their own as well. The arms are actually long enough and everything! Definitely a good buy. December 28, 2011
Good funtionality Ordered the jacket per the size recommendations and it just fit. No room for anything under it, so I returned it for the next size up. That fits fine. So order a size bigger than normal. I've been on a few hiking trips with it so far and it kept me warm. I hate the cold! So far looks to be what I needed! Wearing it every day to work with just the inner layer needed unless I'm walking a ways. Conditions in Colorado have been 30's and 40's lately. Colder at night and it still kept me warm while active. I like the coat. Used the heavyweight base layers under it and they work great. December 12, 2011
Not quite right I ended up returning this jacket for a couple of reasons...1) The fit was not right, tight in the bust, spacious in the abdomen, and tight on the hips, overall it was not flattering.2)You could see the pocket lining through the fabric on the liner. November 7, 2011
Like it but..... I really like a lot of the features of this jacket. I am havent had a chance to get it in the cold or wet weather yet (still quite hot here in Texas). But based on my experience with other columbia jackets I expect it will perform well.I was very disappointed that the lining did not zip into the shell. It did on my Titanium Jacket with Omniheat lining and shell. That jacket was awesome but now is to big so I gave it away and purchased this one. The Titanium (they dont make it anymore) was really awesome.. I thought this would have that feature as well. So, you have to separately zip the lining and the shell. A hassle that I didnt count on. I may trade it for another jacket. October 7, 2011
