With wide gauge open mesh overlays, these shoes are prepared to bail water like the ship is going down. In addition to fantastic drainability, the Outpost 2 features Techlite™ in the midsole to keep things nimble and flexible. The bungee speed-fit lacing system provides quick adjustments and stay-put lockdown even when little feet are squelching through the mud. The footbed is constructed from a single-density EVA for cushioning, and the interior delivers smooth, barefoot-worthy comfort that won’t rub or chafe. When terrain gets gnarly, the Omni-Grip® rubber sole provides great traction in wet and dry conditions alike.

great shoe for busy tweens My son attends an environmental charter school so is outdoors a lot. This shoe is waterproof and very flexible so it has adapted to a lot of the adventures the students participate in. Not being bothered with laces due to the cord is also a time saver. November 29, 2012

Son loves these shoes My son loves that he doesn't need to tie these but that they are like a heavy sock to wear. Good ventilation with these shoes so they are excellent in our rainy part of the country! September 11, 2011

boys shoes I have to say, I'm very happy with this purchase. My son has a wide foot and I ordered shoes from two other outdoor stores that were way too narrow for him .I had to send both pairs back. Most boys don't have narrow feet so I'm happy that the Columbia shoes fit him well! Thank you for making shoes in a "real" boys size! He's had them for about a month and they are wearing well!
