"...walking on pillows!" My daughter recently broke these shoes in. She is seven, and goes on up to five mile hikes through various terrain with me... her assessment of these shoes was, "They are great! I feel like I am walking on pillows!"During the break in process, she only had one spot where we placed a bandaid 'just in case', for only one hike. sturdy product for kids My son had a pair of these last summer that he wore every day, all day. They held up well for my active outdoor enthusiast, but they were the style that didn't tie, and eventually grew quite loose. He's excited to get a new pair that ties, as he feels with this modification, they're perfect. I'm excited to find them on sale, because he's very very hard on shoes, and the pair he had last year was the first to make it through one whole season without falling apart. Great Shoe I purchased this shoe for my grandson. My experience with Columbia shoes have been pretty good, they are very durable. One reason I got this shoe for him is because, he slips his shoes on without untying & bends the back of the heel down. In my experience with my Columbia shoes I noticed the heel back is very sturdy. I have other shoes where the back of the heel will bend inward and eventually stay that way. The Columbia does not do this. Hopefully it will stay up for my grand son too.mf December 6, 2011
Shoes for Grandson Ordered these for my active grandson. Fit is great. Look good. Durable and great for wet northwest weather. Would have given 5 stars except that the laces are the usual and don't stay tied, even with double knots sometimes. Wish the kids shoes came with a lace stay device. Otherwise a great, great shoes. Good sctive boys school shoes This is the fourth pair of Columbia shoes I have purchased and my son is just as please with these as all the previous pairs. They all hold up to recess play but still look nice inside the classroom. He has a narrow foot and heel and these run a bit narrower then tennis shoes which suits him fine. They also have nice grippy soles and good arch support. September 13, 2011

Shoes for my kids' for our trip to Arizona I bought both of my boys, ages 9 and 6 a pair of these shoes for our trip to Sedona, Arizona. I was hesitant to buy shoes online for concern that they didn't have a chance to try them on first, but the fit was great. The shoe was a little more than I like to spend on sneakers for the boys because they grow out of shoes so quickly, but I am not disappointed in what I spent on these shoes. They are a very good quality shoe that held up wonderfully while they were hiking and while they will probably grow out of these shoes before they are able to wear them out, they will be well worth the money.
