With the comfort you need for the trail and style inspired by classic work wear, this built-tough men’s pant comes in a heavier weight cotton-nylon fabric that fades as you wash it for a worn, rugged look. Gusseting and articulated knees deliver great fit and mobility, and a zip-closed security pocket stashes small stuff securely.

Disappointed in the qualityI'm in law enforcement. I'm a Detecive and I'm out in the field a lot. I got these because they looked professional and durable. Three washes in and the color is fading in spots. I have near white spots where the color is gone on the front of my pants now. These just became weekend project pants with my beat up old sneakers. Very disappointed.

Tight in the hipsFor an athletic guy, the 32 was tight in the hips--it did loosen up a bit, but 32 fits me in all other lines. Since there is no 33 size, you may want to take this into consideration. Length was fine. In all other aspects, these are great pants to wear to the office or the hills.

well designedThese pants are made with a heavier material than most columbia pants. I feel protected in these but still they are light and easy to move in.
the front pockets are tight so that nothing falls out should you end up side down and they keep out debris so you don't bring home a pocket full of rocks.
The heal of the pant is reinforced and the closure is riveted so I won't be worrying about these pants, I can focus on the task at hand and look good doing it.

Good pant, but some issuesOrdered these pants primarily for hiking and general outdoor activity in the mid-Atlantic region. They definitely meet the demands in general, but fabric is a tad heavy.
I have three issues with the pants. First, the zipper is too short and, well, it takes longer. The second issue is that the fabric is not ideal for summer-time humidity levels in the mid-Atlantic region. At heat indexes of 95+, the pants are a bit too heavy such that the cotton soaks up perspiration and restricts movement in the knees. (My preference is not to wear shorts in the woods.) The third item is that the thigh pocket is too small to be useful for anything that I carry. I could place an ID in the pocket, but nothing practical for trail use. Anything that absorbs moisture would get soaked from perspiration.
Overall, I give this product a "Good" rating.

Lessen QualityThis style of Columbia pants went down in quality yet up in price to $75. Columbia switched to all nylon and very thin, wrinkles up after a few hours and looks like it won't wear very well. I am very disappointed. Will never but another pair of Columbia pants. Can buy Dickie at 25% of cost and get a lot more use out of them and look better

Pant SelectionAfter reading the reviews, I thought I selected a regular fit (non-skinny), but the waist line is tight, contrary to Ultimate ROC.

Chatfield PantsI have had these pants for about a month now, and absolutely love them. They are constantly being worn and washed, I honestly wear these pants about 3-4 days a week. They function excellent on the trails, and look professional, yet rugged out of the woods. They are a unique fabric, thin, light, but very strong. Similar to ripstop, but I find it more comfortable. They have proven to be very protective from sharp sticks, briars, etc. The weather has been all over the place for the past month here in upstate NY, yet these pants have been performing well in all conditions. I have worn them on numerous hikes, when the weather is warm the thin fabric keeps you cool, and when the temperature is below freezing, the fabric cuts the wind and keeps me much warmer than I would have expected. The construction is great, I am very picky about clothing, especially pants. The pocket size, placement, and cut of these pants is perfect. I carry a pocket knife at all times, and the thumb stud has a habit of quickly wearing a small hole in the pockets of my Carhartt pants. So far I see no evidence of abrasion on these pants, and I doubt I will anytime soon. I was hoping to use these pants for some hunting, but they are a little loud. This is the closest thing to a complaint I can find. If you're reading this, trying to decide if you should pull the trigger on the purchase of these pants, go for it. I doubt you will regret it.
