Men's Compactor™ Down Jacket is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to winter coat I have had this Medium sized down jacket 2 seasons. I have skied in it, hunted, wear it to do errands and take it on vacation in a stuffed bag to Aruba in the Winter for my return trip. The light combination of down and omniheat in a light weight shell makes it a perfect companion. It compresses nicely and revives instantly. It repels rain and wears well. The design is simple but functional!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Europe Trip I bought this coat for a 3 week winter excursion trip through Europe, and it served its purpose very well. It was very, very light and easy to pack which was awesome. It was a little puffy but for the amount of warmth it gave me, totally worth it, and you are always going to get a little bit of puffyness with any down coat it seems. But this coat was premier in that department. It was water resistant, which was nice and the down definitely still kept its warmth when it got wet. It seemed to be pretty wind resistant as well; I have had better though, but it wasn't bad. I would have liked for it to have nicer inside pockets because there were simply two large slots on both sides, no zipper or anything (it still had zipper pockets on the outside of the coat though which kept my hands very warm). I would say that the reflective material is good but you have to be in the coat for a little while so your body heat warms the material up. Other than that, it served its purpose well and it definitely matches its name being called the compactor. I am roughly 5"11-6" - 175 and a medium fit me just fine. Good luck y'all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Campus Ready w/ Compactor Down Jacket This is a great jacket! I was looking for a jacket that was warm but light weight enough that my son would actually wear it on campus at OSU. However, he is not a large man and an XS might have been a better fit if it had been available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much in such a thin jacket! It's amazing this jacket does what it does. It keeps me from overheating when I'm in high gear and keeps me comfortably warm when I'm in low gear. It rolls into the size of a 20 oz bottle for easy storage and it weighs almost nothing! I have a pretty thick muscular upper body with wide shoulders. It's standard for me to wear XL. The size chart stated that I would fit into the Large. I was in Portland, down the street from the main store so I stopped in. I tried on both sizes and I'm glad I did. I purchased the large. True to size using their size chart!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight jacket This is the first down jacket I've owned and I've been very impressed. I've used it layered snowmobiling and shoveling snow the last few weeks. I've never been cold with it. The heat seal is nice for keeping the down in place, although occasionally a small feather will still poke through the fabric. Omni-heat is excellent for regulating heat. When snowmobiling I took off my outer layer, that didn't breathe very well, and I could watch the steam flow off my down jacket keeping me from over heating. I wear it everywhere now, and and frigid cold days as well as fairly warm days. I haven't had a reason to pack the jacket, but it packs into the pocket and can be stored just about anywhere. It has been a great investment. Water does bead slightly, but for heavy downpours you will want the outdry or other shell over top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent layer I'm that guy that holds onto good gear and continues to repair it until there's nothing left.My old Patagucci down jacket finally gave up the ghost. I broke down and purchased a new Columbia compactor down jacket. Initially I was a bit disappointed by the amount of fill in the jacket. But now having worn it on several elk hunts and pack trips (horsepacking and backpacking) I can say this thing rocks. It packs down to nothing and fits well in a day pack or can even fit in a pocket of another jacket. For its size it's amazingly warm and I've used it as an outer and inner layer. I haven't worn it in rain but it repels the wind well and has been great in snow. Now all my relatives and friends have purchased the same jacket. Positive word of mouth follows a good product and this one is well worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Technology!! Heat seal is the real deal! Think about it, down coats have sewn channels which are filled with down. That translates into a whole bunch of holes for down and heat to get out. It also allows water in! Since Columbia has welded channels everything is sealed!!!! Boom!! Drier, warmer, and better! It's a much cleaner look too. This is the down jacket...... But if you want more get the one with out dry!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket with some notes: Coming from the Columbia Powerfly Down Jacket this jacket has improvements. The Heatseal tech is a nice upgrade and this keeps the down from shifting and keeps the wind out of the seams. The sizing has increased from Med to Lrg for my normal sizing so you may want to go down one size from previous Columbia jackets. Also the arm cuffs and neck have also gotten bigger creating more drafts where you don't want them. If you can try on first that is best. Excellent lightweight, packable, and warm jacket for backpacking or around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Toasty I've owned a number of Columbia jackets and this one is by far my favorite for winter. Light as can be and toasty warm. Due to it's lack of bulk I can tell it won't be as durable as many winter coats, but I'll take the trade-off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good jacket I'm 6ft and 200lb (normal body proportions) and M size fit perfectly. Prety warm. I would say up to -10C.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and cozy I'm 5' 11" /190 pounds and the Medium size fit perfect on me. This was what I envisioned when I bought it. It's very lightweight and folds into a small package. It's great for traveling. Also very warm especially considering how lightweight it is but the sleeve elastic is insufficient to keep wind from blowing up them. Excelente jacket!
