Rated 2 out of 5 by Oversized lightweight down jacket lacking basic features I bought this jacket because it was on sale and when I received it I was disappointed. The first issue is that the jacket is huge. I wear an extra large because I have long torso and this jacket did have the appropriate length. The width of the jacket is the issue. I have noticed some clothing manufacturers interpreting XL to mean wider rather than taller and so they keep the same length and add room for bigger beer bellies. There was so much room that I would have been like an open chimney. The jacket lacked some basic features like adjustable waist and hood, as well as inner pocket. Without the adjustable waist it was unusable for me. I can't comment on the warmth because I never made it past taking the tags off, but I have been very happy with the warmth of their jackets in past. Ultimately I found a different brand down jacket with better fit and all the features I needed for a comparable price. September 5, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by warm and lite This jacket will keep you toasty and it is a good jacket to build a layer system. The only weak point in this overall good jacket it is the zipper, it is small and don't feel very strong, it feel like could break anytime while you zip up the jacket. If Columbia would put a larger stronger zipper on it, this would be a great down jacket . I gave it 3 stars because of the zipper. June 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by good jacket really warm in cold day April 2, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Great product but the color is much lighter than it appears online. Had to return it and swap it for a black one. March 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome! I am pretty picky when it comes to coats for multiple reasons. I have bigger shoulders, neck, arms, and often struggle with getting a coat thats not too bulky, but yet warm enough. This one is great...i can wear a nice sewater under, wear a scarf, and be warm in temps under 32. I recently wore on a day that was 20 and was fine...the omni heat really works, it like wearing an oven! February 21, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lightweight and warm I live in Chicago and this garment was able to protect me from the frigid temp without the bulk of a heavier coat . February 19, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice Jacket - possible poor manufacturing I initially bought a medium which was to large, then exchange for a small which was the perfect fit. The jacket did as advertised - kept me warm, even with a thin low sleeve shirt. However, during the most recent snow storm, while shoveling the zipper broke at the bottom. This is the end piece, where the zipper pull up. It looks like the plastic snapped and now a piece is missing. There doesn't look like there is any way to repair it, so now I'm stuck with a >$200 jacket that I can't zip up. Just for reference, I am 5'7, 33 inch waist, 150 lbs. February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazed at performance... I was very skeptical when I received the jacket. It felt too light and thin. Everyone I showed it too were surprised at how light and thin it is. I tried it a couple of times this week at around 10F and it was fine. Today it was -9F with a wind chill of -30F where I live in Minnesota. I felt cold in every area outside of where the jacket covers. I was wearing a sweater underneath. What I find personally amazing is that whether indoors in normal temperature, or outdoor at -10F, it does not feel either hot or cold. I just don't feel either. It is like wearing regular clothes indoors. Wow... Technology nowadays is such an amazing thing... February 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow This is an amazing jacket. Good up till -10 I've tried. February 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Thin, lightweight warmth First off, I am six foot and 175 pounds, every jacket I own is a large, but after trying on a large and medium in the store, I bought a medium. The medium is basically the same length as the large and it is wide enough in the shoulders. The large is too wide and looked like a balloon on me. So I recommend sizing down because the medium actually fits me perfect. I bought this jacket for colder weather because my other warm jackets are too big to wear in the car. The first morning, I walked outside in 36 degree weather and could feel the warmth it gave me. Getting in the car I didn't even notice the jacket, it was like it wasn't there. I haven't had a chance to wear it in anything below freezing yet but so far it worked great. February 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Omni Heat The omni heat really works. I work outside and some days it's gotten done in the 20's and I've had on the coat and just a t-shirt. Wasn't cold at all February 1, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Compact but not warm The product quality is very good, but it failed to keep me warm at +5 C, even when I was using a base layer and a sweeter. December 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Jacket, BUT Incredible heat to weight ratio! Like a very sophisticated hooded sweatshirt, though. Not for brutal cold--I would recommend it with layers for above 30 degrees. So compactible it fits easily in a mylar Priority Mail envelope. December 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by packable down jacket This jacket is remarkably lightweight and warm. It will pack in a small space for traveling. My only complaint is that the arm holes are a little snug. It could greatly benefit from adding underarm gussets. December 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect This is now my favorite piece of outdoor clothing that I own for wintertime use. It's amazing how warm this coat is and is still so lightweight. This coat will keep you warm with a minimal amount of clothing on underneath. November 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by great jacket at first impression I received this jacket today and I love it!! Feels like it will be warm and roomy. I live in north Georgia so I think it will be perfect. Im a bigger dude and the 2xl fits me. It gives me enough room for layers. My only gripe is that i thought itd be a little more puffy. The coolest feature about this jacket is that it can be stuffed into one of the hand pockets. It stuffs down to about the size of a book. I can't wait to take on the AT. November 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Back Packing Jacket I was really skeptic about these jackets but I really wanted one to try. So far its the most comfortable jacket I have ever warn. Its so light but once you put it on you can feel the warmth. For being a cold weather jacket it packs up super nice. I have only one complaint. I was hoping the midsection of the jacket would be a little tighter or more conforming to my body. This is probably due to the fact that I have a more slender physic. The omni-heat is incredible once you get moving its like someone turned on a oven though. I am ready to see how it is in really cold weather but at the moment when its about 30-40 degrees I have been quite comfortable. October 23, 2014
