Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thin But Warm I thought the product was like or similar to a puffer jacket but it's a actually real thin ! Surprisingly it's very warm and easy to function in ! Deep pockets and has pockets on the inner side ! Love it ! I bought the green color !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So-so jacket I am 5'9, 180 lb male, average build, purchased the medium sized jacket. Overall, this is a so-so jacket. Design: this jacket is boxy. It's slightly long, so I tend to roll the bottom of the jacket inward for a better length when wearing it around town. The plus side of having it a little long is that if you were going to climb in this jacket, then it's great to have the extra length when wearing a hardness. The hood of this jacket is very large. It can literally fit over my snowboard helmet. So when wearing it around town, I use safety pins to take a little bit of the hood in so it fits around my head better. On the plus side, if you were going to climb or ride in this jacket, then the hood can fit over your helmet. The jacket is a little tight in the arm pit area. There are no draw strings on the hood or the bottom of the jacket which is a bummer. And there are no zipper catch guards, so sometimes the zipper gets stuck when zipping the pockets up. Warmth: Great warmth. Yes, it's a little thin coming out of the package, but I have worn this in 40°F weather with just a t shirt on underneath and I was toasty! Made the mistake of going on a jog with this jacket in 45°F and I was too hot. If you're active and going on a walk or doing something to generate heat, then this will do the job well! The pockets are very warm for your hands too. Price: I purchased this from Columbia's website for $50 after a steep discount via sale and a $20 gift card. Overall, for $50, this does a good job. However, do NOT purchase this jacket if you're paying full price. This is a mediocre, so-so jacket that doesn't fit the greatest and isn't the most comfortable. Go with another jacket if you are forced to pay full price. Honestly, this thing is not worth more than $50 in my opinion. I have the 860 turbodown jacket and that thing rocks! By far my favorite jacket. Get that instead! My turbodown doesn't have a hood, and so I purchased this because I wanted a hooded down jacket as well. For $50 I'm not regretful. But if I spent more than that, then I'd be extremely disappointed and would want a better jacket for the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great around town jacket I was looking for a jacket that would keep me warm during bus duty before and after school in the MN winters. This does the trick! Initially I thought it may be to thin, but the shell and the puff keep me plenty warm. I use this to snowshoe and it is a great outlayer with either a fleece or a long underwear top. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fashionable winter layer for city travel and light recreation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thin but warm. I don’t often write reviews, but with this product looks are deceiving so I thought I’d put in my two cents. I’m male, 5’8” 155lbs with a ‘yoga build’. I live in southern Michigan, so the weather is similar to Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, etc. I enjoy being outdoors in winter for long walks, but I’m certainly not one to camp in December. I bought this in August in anticipation of winter and today was the first day I could try it out. The weather today was bright, sunny and 28 degrees with a 15mph wind. weather.com is telling me it feels like 20 degrees. This coat is thin – much thinner than I had anticipated, so I was a little worried when it arrived, but it really did keep me warm today. I wore the coat over a thin, cotton oxford shirt and I was plenty warm on my leisurely 40 minute walk around campus. I didn’t feel any wind getting through the fabric. I wasn’t too warm either – a problem I have with a lot of winter coats. I’m happy with this purchase. On colder days I think I might wear this over one of my down vests or my PrimaLoft hood-less jacket. I am one to layer in the winter. I prefer to wear two thin jackets rather than one heavy coat. I also think this will work in January over a nice fleece or wool sweater. A note on sizing – the torso is very long. At first this bothered me, but I just folded it under at the waist and it looks good. The sleeves are a good length for me and the elastic at the cuffs is tight enough to keep wind out. The hood is very large and not adjustable, so I think I’ll just flip it up on the real windy days. There aren’t any internal pockets and this doesn’t ‘pack into its own pocket’ like some expensive down jackets. It is somewhat shiny, but not that ugly, over-the-top shine like some other brands.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Westland, Michigan I purchase two Columbia coats and they are thin just like their North Face Coat. My boys ages 15 and 18 likes the jackets/coats. The reason why I call them jackets is because they are lightweight and thin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Fall! Really excited about this jacket! It's not super puffy, in fact it's very minimal and lightweight. Great jacket for Fall season in the Northwest, or as a middle layer in Winter. Just a heads up that the fabric is really shiny, but it's got a good feel.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Coat is not as depicted in the advertisement When shopping for a winter coat for one of my twin boys, I came across this coat. It looked warm and I believed it could be worn in the dead of winter (Jan-Mar). So, of course, I purchased it. When it arrived it came in a package that was not indicative of the style I assumed I had bought (something similar to a ziplock storage bag). When I opened the package I couldn't have been more disappointed. It was like a wind breaker. Columbia should be ashamed of themselves for advertising this coat as a winter garment. Would NOT recommend anyone purchasing.
