Great vest for moderately cold conditions
This vest is great for bar-hopping, hiking, and lounging. Lightweight, soft, and nonconstricting this vest is versatile. Here in Auburn it is 80 degrees one day then 30 degrees the next and everywhere in between so this vest is a great alternative to a jacket in these conditions. Reviewers want to say that this vest is thin and cheaply made, but in my opinion a vest is supposed to be a toned down and cooler feeling version of a jacket. The only drawback is the larger sizing. I wear large shirts and jackets but I ordered medium vest and it fits perfectly. Good thing I read the reviews first.

Dissapointed
I purchased the Cathedral vest looking for something to wear while hiking as one of my layers. This product is useless. The quality of the material is poor and the vest is Paper thin offering no warmth whatsoever. I know Columbia has a great reputation and I own two Columbia fleece jackets that I love and would highly recommend. This product is expensive for a vest and I'm out the 36.00 because its useless.

Good quality,not what I wanted
I returned the item-a fleece vest.It was too loose fitting at the bottom.Elastic around the waist would improve it immensely and I would have been happy with it and would have kept it.

I had to steal it from him to wash it finally.
Initially I bought one vest for my husband. He loved it and wears it day in and day out. He runs an animal hospital and with people coming and going all day, he needed a little bit of warmth, but not as much as a jacket. So I made an in"vest"ment of sorts and bought him one in every color. (I was disapointed you were all out of the orange in size large). He now coordinates his vest with his shirts and ties each day. The perfect amount of warmth and they look great after washing and the color choices were great.
Thank you Columbia for a warm, happy husband.

Columbia Cathedral Peak Vest
Out side of the vest is well made. The pockets linings are very cheaply made and in no way would keep your hands even slightly warm. Nice appearance but I returned the vest because of the pocket issue. I own quite a bit of Columbia clothing, shoes and this is the first item I have ever returned. Almost everything I wear is Columbia brand.

A little Big
I love the feel of the Vest. It's good quality and very soft. However the fit is really big. It may be my personal taste in clothing as I prefer a more Tailored form fitting look. I'm 6-2, 210lbs and I wish I had got the medium instead of the large. It's very baggy.

Just what I was looking for
My husband put it on right on Christmas morning and has worn it every day since. I have always thought a fleece vest would be something he'd use and finally found it. At first I ordered the Large but it seemed slightly small. The XLarge is just fine. The fleece isn't heavy, and he's obviously comfy in it.

Personal Review- Columbia Vest
I had been looking for a replacement vest like the one I purchased at a store (out of business now) several years ago. I had trouble finding anything like it and finally checked the brand name on the collar and found it was a Columbia brand. I looked on the internet and found your website. I ordered two since I had wanted a second one after I bought the first one but the store had already gone out of business.
I am very pleased there is no noticable difference between my original vest and the new ones.

fullfills it purpose
The Cathedral Peak Vest is light weight, not bulky, comfortable, and provides warmth. What more could you ask for? Oh yes, it still looks like new after several washings.

lightweight vest
based on other reviews I ordered a medium instead of large, my usual size. The medium was too tight fitting and when I tried the large, it was huge and baggy around the waist. This ia a very lightweight vest and would not provide much warmth. Also return shipping was half the price I paid for the vest. I have ordered before from Columbia and this purchase has been my only dissapointment

It is almost perfect.
I bought this vest to replace my husband's Columbia Vest that was finally showing wear after about 8 years. The only thing that isn't perfect about it, is that they have stopped putting elastic in the bottom of the vest. He still really likes it, and we'll add the elastic ourselves.

Great vest
I already have several of these vests in a variety of colors and they wear and last well. This time I bought a men's vest because women's vests don't come in all the same colors. The men's cut is a bit too narrow in the hips, as expected. Otherwise a great looking, comfortable vest.

Going Back
I purchased this vest thinking that the quality would be better than other vest out there in the inexpensive pricepoint category. I was very disappointed on the weight of the fleece- very,very, thin. I will get a vest on the next pricepoint up.

It is a very good vest.
Would have liked to have had the option to purchase one with draw strings around the waist like the previous vests. He also had a titanium which had a different material sewn around the shoulder area.

Fits My Needs Perfectly
Here in Kentucky, the weather never gets too cold (compared to my Canadian background) so I generally only wear long sleeves and a vest for most of the winter. I have this vest in a number of colors and they wear well, do not pill, and the elastic waist ensures a great fit. I have purchased many vests but this model is the best overall fit and value for me.

Keeping Warm and Comfortable in Michigan
This vest is excellent for wearing while playing golf and tennis in the spring and fall. During the winter my husband wears this in the house . It is made of quality fleece and it washes well.

Good everyday vest
Great to throw on when heading out for local hikes. A bit expensive for the quality, but does it job well. Would not be the part of the gear I would take into the backcountry.

Men's vest
Just what I was looking for as a gift for my husband. Perfect for these cold mornings in the house until the wood burner gets things more warmed up.
Do wish the zipper was a bit bigger as his fingers aren't the best anymore at 80 years.

perfect for every situation
I can't say enough about this vest, it really is great for every situation in autumn, when the mornings may be chilly and the breeze picks up, yet still not cool enough for a parka. This vest seems to have given me superpowers to ward off uncomfortable situations. My coworkers are always trying to figure out the right combination of layers--while I stay perfectly comfortable in my fleece vest. And, a strange woman even "petted" me the other day, just to see if the vest is as soft as it looks. It is.

Excellent product. Just right for when it's too chilly for going with just shirt sleeves but not quite cold enough for a sweater or light jacket.

My wife likes to wear my other vest, but these are cut for guys only. She likes the womens cut Columbia sells. That means I will always be able to find mine in my closet. Good quality, light, feels great.

A little thin
This product is well finished, as one would expect with Columbia products. In my opinion, the thickness of the fabric seems thinner then one would expect at this price point. I tried it under a rain coat and confirmed that it did not provide the warmth I had expected. The item is probably OK for late Spring or early Fall.

Soft!
I have always loved wearing Columbia brand vests. They're so soft and stretchy. The only problem is the zippers are pretty cheap and often come apart or the actual zipper comes off.

Love the versatilty
The vest works well in both summer and cooler months...most places are air conditioned in the summer...movies, restaurants etc. Having your chest warm is a plus! Love the side zip pockets too!

Nice vest
This is a nice looking vest for the $. I usually wear a large but ordered medium after reading reviews. The fit is perfect. However, I didn't know they made fleece this thin. It is definitely light weight. I will definitely wear this vest but now need to look for something warmer as well. I love the zippered pockets.

Great Addition to Wardrobe
The Cathedral Peak Vest has been a great addition to my wardrobe. It offers warmth to the body core without all the bulk of sleeves. I use it as a jacket when temperatures are above freezing and as a layer below a jacket when below freezing. Looks great with business casual clothing as well as weekend casual. The only criticism would be the slightly grayish-blue color of the Columbia Navy. If you're looking for a true dark Navy, then another brand would be recommended.
