Warm jacket This jacket keeps me warm in snowing and windy weather. It's great. December 17, 2013
Good Product This jacket is a decent product and I have tested it in about 10 degree and it keeps you warm when you have activity, like walking. If you just stand in cold weather (Like in bus stop, waiting for bus), it'll still be a good insulated jacket but you will slowly feel the cold weather. The main advantage compared to jackets in the same range from other brands is that, it doesn't make you sweat when you are inside, but when you are outside, I have expirienced better quality of insulation from other brands. The water-proofness is really awesome and keeps you completely dry.Unlike other products from Columbia, which are smaller than size, it is true to size. December 15, 2013
So far so good.. I've had this jacket for about a week now, and it's been pretty good so far. It's the first winter jacket I've owned in a while, so it seemed a bit bulky at first, but I've been told it adds some width to my skinniness (in a good way!).I really like the 2-layer design, especially because the inside layer actually looks pretty good. I've seen/owned some jackets where the inside layer is just ugly and so basically (for me) renders the separation useless. But, this one is great so far. Also, I got this for a really good deal. 25% off for the holidays, plus the $30 GC and another $20 from amex, bringing it down to about 150. I don't think I would pay more than 200 for it, however. December 15, 2013
Great deal Excellent product keep me warm during the winter snowing day,i would definitely recommend this jacket. December 15, 2013
4.5 out of 5 stars The hand warmer pockets need to have a warmer lining as well as the arms. The back the arms got chilled, on very bitter winter day, while wearing a short sleeve shirt. Overall the jacket preformed well, it was a gift for my wife who is a veteran Columbia jacket owner and I do listen her complaints on occasion. Rob December 15, 2013
Great winter coat Bought this for my husband and he LOVES it. We have been having below normal temps 10 and lower and he is staying warm.He has a very hard time staying warm and this jacket is doing the job. He has always had a Columbia jacket which have been great but this omni heat is the best! Thanks Columbia keep up the great work. Plus I got it on sale for 60.00 less than asking. December 13, 2013
Excellent Coat I am amazed by how toasty and comfortable this is, like putting on a warm duvet. The overall build quality is excellent; well-worth the price.I tell everyone who sees me in it how warm it is. December 9, 2013
Warm as Needed Purchased this jacket for use in German winters. Winter climate here tends to be cold and wet with frequent snow so a warm, weather-proof jacket was needed. After two weeks of use, I can say that the jacket keeps me as warm as needed. When I've gotten cold, it was a lack of other insulating gear not the jacket. Likewise, I haven't overheated despite several miles of hiking with moderate loads (~30lbs). This jacket, like most Columbia products, is extremely well made with quality fabrics that are functional and durable. I have only two complaints with it. One, the main zipper is a bit small and does not have a lanyard to find it quickly. No problem unless I'm wearing gloves so it loses a bit in the function category. Two, the jacket is a bit snug for me in the shoulders - particularly in the arm pit area. This is likely because I have an athletic build so the fit is my frame more than the jacket. Nevertheless, a bit of extra room in the upper sleeves would make it perfect. The jacket fits perfectly everywhere else. December 9, 2013
-7ºF outside, real feel temp -18ºF Clear night and VERY HAPPY! Just got this product and could not be happier. Was surprised with how light the jacket was didn't think it would hold up. Did the only thing you can do and put it to the test with the freezing weather outside. It held up better than I could have imagined with just a cotton T-shirt underneath. The only thing that got cold was the legs but the top half was indescribably comfortable. The coat feels snug but moves surprisingly well for how it feels. I also prefer looser fitting clothes so may not be used to the fit. December 7, 2013
Great Jacket Light, Heavy duty, fits well. December 6, 2013
Truly Warm and Lightweight This coat is as advertized. Very warm and lightweight. I agree with previous reviews that the pockets are a little high to place your hands in and the main coat zipper is very small with to additional connected pull but overall this is a solid purchase that you will not regret. The coat is both extremely lightweight for the warmth it provides and is not overwhelming when worn inside for short periods of time.If I needed to but another coat I would consider a second purchase of this same coat due to the features and the quality. December 5, 2013
Great jacket Bought this for my son and was initially alarmed because it felt so LIGHT. It's extremely warm and I'm very pleased because he already has to carry so many things to school, I'm glad he doesn't have a bulky coat. This is well made, extremely warm (Chicago winters) and he loved the look and fit. December 2, 2013
Lhotse ll Interchange Jacket I purchased this jacket for my 21 year old Grandson and he said he loves it and it is the warmest jacket he has ever had. November 27, 2013
It is great! I like it! It is a good product, hopefully it will keep me warm in the Minnesota winter. November 20, 2013
Overall, great product! It is truly amazing.. it is going to keep you dry and warm from the cold rainy days.I no longer need to wear thick clothes inside of my jacket!I went out with a short sleeve shirt inside the jacket for 5 minutes and it protected me 100% from rain and cold weather. November 18, 2013
This product lives up to it's name I was in the need of a new winter jacket and this has really worked out well so far. Great fit, and stylish, but built for the cold weather. The interior liner jacket is nice for those fall days as well. I also like how the hood is constructed, not too big. Very please so far. November 18, 2013
Love this coat! I love the quality and build of this coat. There are several pockets for things such as cell phones and keys. The way it holds body heat is incredible! It kept me nice and toasty even after being in 25 degree weather for over and hour. If you're looking for a good winter coat, I highly recommend this one. November 13, 2013
Very Promising Jacket Was a little unsure of the extra details that this coat had emphasized (ex.omniheat), as i thought it was just a marketing feature. But it turns out the coat works like a charm. Its a little snug but nonetheless performs well! I really admire the technology of this jacket, which REALLY shows under cold weather. Whats amazing is that the jacket doesn't overload you with heat as most jackets aim to do with colder weather. What the jacket does is maintain a comfortable temperature despite how cold it gets. Its very breathable and you are virtually unaffected by low temperature. This feature is something that I have never experienced before and am impressed each day by as i commute to the chilly city. All in all, the jacket is highly effective and sets out to accomplish all the things that a good high quality jacket should. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering getting this. Its is also very stylish which is a big bonus for me. November 12, 2013
Lhotse Mtn. 2 Been wearing this interchange around for the last couple of weeks now. I'm a big fan of the versatility of this combo. The insulated inner layer retains off more than enough warmth by itself for days in the 40s and 50s. It was snowing out this morning, so I wore the full combo -- definitely warm enough to get down into any temperature I'll experience with a fleece on underneath. My only criticism is that the jacket's main zipper doesn't have an elastic cord attached to it. It's a little annoying having to fumble for your zipper when you've got a pair of thick gloves on.Would definitely recommend. November 12, 2013
Exactly what I was looking for! I was looking for a new winter coat, and after extensive comparison shopping settled on the Lhotse Mountain II. To make a long story short, it's perfect. I commute in the city of Chicago, and I have to contend with unpredictable combinations of wind and precipitation for the majority of the year. So far I've only worn it during Fall weather (40-50 degrees), but here's a brief summary of my observations thus far:- It's dry. I was recently rained on during my entire commute and the water beaded up and brushed off easily. I can't vouch for its integrity in an extended downpour, but it handled a typical November rainstorm flawlessly. The hood is just a bit shallow, but proved sufficient for keeping rain off my face.- It's warm. I haven't had the opportunity to pit it against Chicago's infamous winter yet, but on a wet and blustery November day it kept me perfectly comfortable. The liner in particular is quite toasty, even on its own.- It breathes. When switching between warm, dry interiors and the much colder and wetter weather outside, the coat regulated my body heat remarkably well. I was quite comfortable even in well-heated interiors. The shell by itself makes an excellent rain jacket or wind breaker and is light and cool enough to use even in warmer weather.- It looks great. I have an average build at 5' 11" and about 175 pounds and the medium fit me perfectly; the coat is a fairly trim fit, so if you expect to layer heavily under the provided liner you might want a size larger. Both the liner and the shell have a great fit with simple, clean lines.Overall, the coat showcases good attention to details and seems to be made with high quality materials. I've been very happy with my purchase! November 5, 2013
awesome jacket and great features My son purchased his first jacket from Columbia store 16 yrs. ago and just now needed another. Wonderful products. November 4, 2013
Awesome I have an old (like 18 years old) Bugaboo that is finally on its last leg. The color and fit, of course, are now very "90's" as well. I decided to look for a new one and came across the Lhotse Mountain™ II Interchange Jacket. I could not be happier with it! The old Columbia stuff was good way back when, but this is a whole new level of good. Lightweight, VERY warm, functional, comfortable, and attractive. I was pretty sure back in the 90's, and now I am positive, that I will never own a winter coat by any other maker. October 31, 2013
Fantastic Cold Weather Jacket I bought this jacket for my son. We do many cold weather sports including sub zero snowmobiling. While we have not had the chance to try it out yet in freezing temps my son said the jacket is awesome and he has NEVER had a warmer coat! He loves it. CAUTION: THEY RUN SMALL! My son is a very trim Medium and he needed a large. October 23, 2013
i love this jacket very light and warm. and good quality October 10, 2013
My last Jacket lasted 25 years Love Columbia I wouldn't wear anything else. October 9, 2013
The Best I have Found. I wear a large everything, but Columbia is tricky... This combo has been the best one to satisfy what I've been looking for. I have worn the liner more than the combo and would have paid the same price just for it. The rest of the interchange is just icing on the cake. April 14, 2013
Small across the back/shoulders The jacket was everything I was looking for with the technologies Omni-heat, Omni-shield. The jacket is very warm. I get cold easy and wanted a heavier jacket. While shoveling snow, I had to zip it open a little and a little more and finally had it fully unzipped--it is awesome. I even fully opened the armpit vents. The pockets are roomy and I like the idea of the interchange (a specific feature for me). I went to a sporting goods store (when first shopping for a Columbia coat) to try the various sizes and the XL was too big, so I decided to buy the L. The large was sized better for me in all respects--I had tried on the Whirlibird II. I had been looking at the Whirlibird II initially but I didn't like the styling--the only color left was bright red. I went home and bought online and when comparing features and the technologies, I bought the Lhotse. The only problem for me is that the jacket is too tight across the back and shoulders when I bring my arms forward and across the chest. If memory serves well I wear a 42R suit coat. I don't have a big chest but my shoulders are broad. The bind in the back/shoulders is not much but I can feel it restrict my movement a little. Unfortunately they did not have the Lhotse in stock at the sporting goods store (end of season). I don't know if I would have noticed a difference in the store because I figured the large of most any jacket would be a similar fit in other models (as also indicated by the sizing chart on Columbia's website)--I fit the Large category. Otherwise, the jacket is outstanding; the features, pockets, and construction sold me on this model. I did a side by side comparison of several of their insulated and interchange jackets. This one had all the features I was looking for and basically had all the features of the other jackets. April 1, 2013
Best Product EVER Loved this jacket so much, I bought one for a friend, and I have two, a regular fitting coat that fits me perfect and the longer style which is more like a parka, it's great for those cold windy day. I have several friends that I have convinced to spend the money and they won't use any other coat, great for cold, warm, wet (snow or rain), windy days... Buy it, maybe go a size bigger for when you bundle up, but no more than that. You'll love it. March 18, 2013
Super lightweight and warm! Nice lightweight jacket that is super warm. Great for playing outdoors. February 4, 2013
Fantastic Coat This is by far one of the best coats I ever purchased. With the Omni Heat feature I have been just wearing the inner coat. With both layers on it is very warm and dry. This is a Fantastic Coat February 1, 2013
Great product Great product. I live in Portland, OR which has its share of wet and cold. It is truly water proof and warm. I've worn it in 20 to 45 degrees and it was comfortable in all temperatures. The inner jacket is warm and comfortable too. My only complaint is that the sizing is way off. I wear everything in XL and I had to return this jacket for a XXL January 28, 2013
Wicked warm This is used snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and icefishing. Very good product keeps you warm on sub zero days. January 24, 2013
Core Protector I wore these on a hike during on one of the rare cold days in SOCal and my goodness were my legs freezing!!! But my core was extremely warm. I can't wait to get on the mountain and to see how these will fare. I have no doubt they'll exceed my expectations...I'll let you know soon! January 14, 2013
So far so good So far I have had this jacket for several weeks and tested it a few times in near or just below freezing temps. (37F - 28F) each and every time I was able to wear this jacket over my t-shirt and be warm as long as the waistband straps were tightened.Pros:-Warm as advertised-Interchange system compatible-Black color is conservative enough to wear in high-profile business environment-Rain beads up and falls off. I can “wet dog” shake before entering a building and shed all of the wetness!-Great quality but this is a Columbia standard-Can layer under jacket without adding too much to the bulk – I used a Fast Trek II fleece under my coat without any problems.Cons:-Liner “heat reflecting dots” are distractingly flashy and unattractive when unzipped January 12, 2013
what's not to love this product keeps me very warm on the coldest of days, even when wearing just a t shirt underneath. the pockets are of ample size. the hood fits great. theonly thing i'm sad about is no rain for three months, i really want ttest out the shell! January 6, 2013
Great Winter Jacket Recipient loved this coat. The quality materials and design make it a jacket you will keep for many, many years. January 3, 2013
Great Fit! Perfect fit for average male. So warm, never got a chill skiing with this jacket and plenty of pockets to hold all the extras. January 2, 2013
Exchanged We exchanged this jacket for a different Columbia jacket also featuring omni-heat. The front pockets are too high and not where your hands would go in naturally. Also, didn't love the "mystery" color. It looked more gray on our computer screen. My husband loves the Columbia jacket we exchanged it for. Very warm in cold blowing snow. December 27, 2012
Great jacket handicapped by horrid hood I had a Columbia Titanium jacket that I used for snowshoeing, hiking, general outdoor sports, and walking the dog in varieties of miserable weather. After eight years, it was time to retire it.I got the Lhotse Mountain II Interchange and have put it to good use in cold weather. The reflective insulation, which I thought would be just a marketing gimmick, turns out to work excellently. It really does add warmth. The jacket keeps me really warm.I only have two complaints. The first is the hood is terrible. The brim is too short. You can forget getting any snow or rain blocked. Even more aggravating are the flaps. On my Titantium the flaps were high enough to cover me face from the tip of my nose to my chin. The Lhotse's hood flaps leave my entire lower face uncovered. Between a short brim and poor flaps, the hood really doesn't work, especially on a windy day.The second irksome detail is the zipper. This is a conventional one-way zipper. The jacket really needs two zipper pulls so you can open the bottom half of the jacket for ventilation while keeping the upper zipped closed. The zipper I could live with, the hood though is abysmal. The hood's shortcomings make what would otherwise be an excellent piece of outdoor gear into a marginal jacket, especially for the money. December 23, 2012
Spend the money Haven't had it in truly cold temps yet - just a little below freezing - but it's easy to tell that with proper layering this jacket is good for below zero. Can't even zip it above 40 degrees. Absolutely waterproof; I found that out the hard way. Pockets are higher than I'm used to, but still low enough for my hands, softly lined, and large enough to swallow an 800-page, 5"x8" paperback I carried on the train the other day, or a pair of winter gloves. Fit is spot-on for me.Only complaint, and a minor one, is that both outer and inner breast pockets are in the same location, so to use both is like putting it all in one pocket.I love the jacket. If this is your price range, this is your product. Buy this jacket. December 22, 2012
Great Jacket I've bought plenty of Columbia jackets before, but this one is the best ever. It has a nice snug insulating feel to it, especially around the arms & wrists. It keeps me warm even on super cold days, but it's not bulky even with all the layers. I can still add a fleece underneath if I want, no problem. Other coats I own are XL because I'm tall with long arms, but this jacket fits perfect in a Large. December 18, 2012
Good System, Good Protection, Weak Finishing This is a good jacket system that I regularly wear in 10-20 degree weather for 60-90 minute outdoor stints. It keeps me warm and the outer shell does a nice job shedding rain, sleet and snow. The pit zips and pockets are well positioned and the taped seam on the front pocket is a nice touch. The inner coat fits pretty tight and restricts overall movement when worn together as one unit. My only real complaint is the poor quality of the zippers. The pulls are incredibly thin and poised to break, the zippers are fine-toothed making them less than reliable and the outer coat should have had all its pockets taped/sealed. The tight inner fit can be a little annoying but probably cuts down on the bulk. Definitely good for cold weather sports, walks and daily wear. December 16, 2012
Not that good The coat is OK, but I was disappointed in the hood. It's unlined and very thin. Also, I paid $250 for the coat and found it to be a lesser coat than lower priced alternatives. I found a similar coat for $189 that I am much happier with. December 10, 2012
Not made for colder than 35 degrees. I replaced an older Columbia jacket, which was great, with this one.I am disappointed. It hasn't been very cold here yet, the coldest so far in the 20's.The jacket doesn't keep me warm when its below 35 degrees.I really like the outer shell but the inner jacket is much too thin. December 8, 2012
Great purchase I bought myself this Jacket for my birthday as something that I could maybe have around for snowstorm driveway clean up and walking the dog. Let me tell you I will be using it for more than just that. This jacket came with all the extras that my previous $450.00 Northface jacket had (e.g. Snowskirt, armpit vents, etc.) and it seems warmer, better looking and even the lining is warm, comfortable, and good looking. December 1, 2012
Men’s Lhotse Mountain II Interchange Jacket These jackets were purchased for use by an EMS agency in NJ where the weather can vary drastically. Rather than going with the typical suppliers emergency agencies use we decided to go with Columbia and could not be more pleased. The versatility of the jackets allowed us to in essence purchase 3 jackets for the price of one. The jacket fits well as bulky clothing would interfere with our job and they keep us warm and/or dry depending on our needs that day. We were even able to embroider and label the jackets with no problems. Not a single member has a complaint except for those who did not receive them, but they will in the next order we were so pleased with them. Highly recommended to all. November 16, 2012
Great multi-purpose jacket I purchased this jacket so I could have one jacket when traveling that can keep me warm in really cold weather and I can also use the inner jacket on cool days. It's comfortable and I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others. Store employees were great when I had to exchange the jacket for a larger size. November 8, 2012
real world use I bought one of these prior to going to Afghanistan in 2011-2012 as a contractor. I am glad I did. Used as a work coat on the aircraft flight line and even washed aircraft in it at next to freezing temperatures while using matching gloves. Only problem I had with it the entire time was the front pocket zipper broke. Only wish I had a set of pants that matched the warmth and waterproofing. October 19, 2012
:-) Your coats are too thin. I would like them to be thicker. September 16, 2012
