Rated 3 out of 5 by Where's Waldo's Jacket? Outer shell is suppose to be waterproof. Water does bead off. But it's questionable how much of a downpour the shell can tolerate. The only way to find out is to wear it in the shower and wait. Just keep in mind that water can and will get in through the neck/face opening and sleeves. The hood is big. Big enough to pull over other headwear. Possibly a helmet. Use the hook & loop at the cuffs to prevent moisture from going up your sleeves. Slide fasteners under the arms would have made this jacket perfect. I would have preferred more pockets and a pass-through opening to access my other pockets under the jacket. It would be great if you could reach your hands under the shell to use the handwarmer pockets on the fleece. Side seam zippers for my firearm would be too much to ask for. I won't even wish for a game pouch pocket in the back. Insulating liner serves it's purpose to an extent. A very thin, light weight fleece either restricts this jacket to warmer conditions, or requires better insulating layers under the jacket. I would surely want a Pendleton shirt and wool sweater. Fleece material makes it difficult to don and doff over wool shirts and sweaters. Even my t-shirt sleeves ride up to my shoulders when I slide my arms into the sleeves. Goose down, Thinsulate, or Polartec 300 would have been warmer. the sleeves and hem are open and do not have elastic or any type of closure system. Again, I would have liked to have a few more pockets. If you sit around playing video games, have small arms, narrow shoulders, no upper body development other than a beer gut, then this is for you. The real problem is that there are no sizing standards across the industry. I have other Columbia items, and the size XL is a perfect fit. On this XL, the arms, shoulders, chest, and back were really tight, sleeves too long, and I could have shoplifted a basketball under the sweep of the garment. Was this jacket made for hipsters, who borrow their sister's pants, seeking a Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen costume? April 4, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket With One Caveat! The jacket is absolutely fabulous in terms of being well-made, extremely warm when being worn as a unit and certainly waterproof. Last night, in Buffalo, New York area, we experienced snow that turn to freezing rain and finally turn to ice pellets. I went for a walk in winds that were gusting over 40 mph.. I almost slipped on the ice, but I was never cold, never felt the wind, and i remained warm and dry. Perhaps this is the best winter jacket I have ever owned. The only caveat is that with the fleece, you will experience bunching in the arms and you will have to adjust each time you put the jacket on. However, the Velcro snaps on the sleeves hold everything in place. I love the jacket!!!! December 29, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jacket Review The shell is perfect. One sleeve of the fleece gets caught up inside the shell. December 18, 2015

Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed with Columbia I have bought Columbia products for the past 25 years and have never been disappointed with their products or quality until now. Their coats used to have good quality metal zippers but they have switched to cheaply made plastic zippers. My new coat I bought didn't even last the whole winter without the zipper breaking. Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps me warm Great coat, I use it whenever I am headed to the mountains. I can count on this coat keeping me warm in the coldest of conditions! January 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good looking Jacket! This is a very attractive and well made jacket. Since manufacturers have gone to the hour glass cut for women I have been forced to wear the men's large. Have not yet worn this outdoors as I am waiting for temps to moderate a bit. We've had strictly down jacket weather. Would have given it five stars but needs a two way zipper and could use a lining in the fleece sleeves which tend to stick to a flannel shirt. Love your stuff! January 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by not what I expected I bought this coat expecting that it would go on easy but every time that I try to put it on the fleece jacket on the inside bunches up on the arms and back: yes I have it attached and zipped in. It simply doesn't allow you to put it on and take it off easily. I would say bad design January 21, 2015
