Men's North Protection™ Hooded Down Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Lightest Coat I Have Ever Had This is a really good all round coat for the Winter. It takes a bit of getting used to because its incredibly light and it has a Disco Interior of high tech lining. Give it a chance and you will really appreciate this coat. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight warmth with dryness For almost 40 years I have had 3 winter coats made of goose down from a well known, high end competitor. Each coat was very warm and lasted me years but were heavy. I was looking to purchase a fourth coat since #3 was running somewhat ragged and out of style but they had no sale while Columbia did. So I thought I would try this one even though a couple reviews said it was so lightweight. When I got it in the mail, it did seem lightweight but even living on the lake in Wisconsin it was surprisingly very warm. We have had wind gusts recently of 40 plus mph with temps in the lower 20s and my legs were cold but not my upper body at all. And I had to shovel snow in a good snowfall and this coat did not absorb any moisture. I think Columbia has gained a new customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Very warm and extremely lightweight! I am a car salesman in NJ near the shore where it is always very windy and in the winter averages in the 20's - 30's or less. I am always going in and out of the building and wearing dress/ casual clothing so having a warm coat is Very important to me. When the jacket first arrived I actually got a little scared by how light weight it was, luckily it was pretty cold that evening and so I put it on and took it for a test drive, I was very impressed by how warm it really was and I absolutely Love the way the wrists are snug, helps keep the air out of your sleeves! The only thing my wife didn't like was the faux fur lining around the hood but it zippers right off and you cant see or feel the zipper when it's off. I definitely recommend this coat!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good jacket but was expecting more Jacket is very light, materials are excellent quality. For being a 700 down jacket on its own doesn't provide enough protection on cold temperatures as I expected, definitely needs 1 layer to provide proper coverage. On the other hand, this layer can be something light like a long sleeved t-shirt and the difference is noticeable it will keep your very warm. Overall, I would recommend this jacket to city dwellers and commuters, provides good enough coverage for those times you're exposed to the cold without the bulkiness and weight of other jackets out there and can be worn without many layers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The size is not Medium I bought this jacket for my son because December weather is so cold. My son wear M size, that I ordered. But the jacket with label Medium fit as a Large. The sleeves is too wide. I'm very upset. It's my fault, I mailed it back by USPS instead UPS and spent $13 for shipping. Oh! :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my coat I got the black jacket and it looks good. It's fairly long to give you full coverage, and wearing it over some khaki's and a sweater in 40F temps I was more than warm enough. I actually kept it 1/2 zipped so I wouldn't over heat while walking around shopping. It's really light, but super warm, and I like that you can unzip the fuzzy hood trim (which I did immediately). Overall, 2 thumbs up!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a lot for the money... Now firstly let me start by saying that this is the first down jacket that I have ever owned, I have been searching all over for a jacket for my 3rd Canadian winter in Alberta , the last two haven't been that bad so I was making do with my jackets that I owned previously (with a lot of layers underneath). I have done so much research and finally decided that Columbia were a great company selling some great products, I then had to make the choice between a parka style jacket or a straight insulated down jacket, I went for this one because it looked good, had a decent fill down rating and was a good price! The listing didn't specify the weight of the jacket or the weight of the filling, this should have been my first warning sign, I went ahead anyway and order this jacket. It was very quick to ship and arrive, however when I took the package from the courier I was a little shocked as to how light it was. After opening and looking at the jacket I was frankly a little bit annoyed, I have friends here who all suggested a down jacket and most of them own jackets like this, however there's are way more packed with insulation, now maybe that's not the point of this jacket, maybe I missed something somewhere along the line but this jacket is so light that I can't imagine using this as my main winter jacket this year. It's also super patchy and you can feel in a number of places that there is simply no insulation, I don't know if I've received a reject or if this is an oversight, or maybe I'm just being dumb and that's the actual jacket that I've bought. I'm not doubting the quality, the jacket seems to have been put together well. How much is it supposed to weigh? Cause I have no idea. I went by the 700 power rating and assumed that it was gonna be a really warm jacket. I'm gonna go stand in the freezers at work tomorrow which are only minus 20 to test it out. I'm 6ft and 180lbs and the medium fits fine with a little room for layering. I already took the tags off without thinking otherwise I would return this for something heavier. Please let me know if I still can.
