Uses Winter, Rainwear

OutDry™ Extreme is our first ever waterproof and breathable fabric technology constructed with a waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Traditional raingear uses interior waterproof membranes which don't allow for air flow, and water-repellent coating that degrades over time. With OutDry™ Extreme, the rugged exterior is an incredibly water-tight membrane with millions of microscopic perforations that let water vapor escape through a wicking membrane directly fused to the shell.

Great for the trail, this fully-seam-sealed, waterproof, breathable Interchange Titanium jacket features ultrasonically welded seams, external taping, a “grown on” chest pocket with no stitching and our super-tight Light Rail zippers on the pockets, giving this jacket its unique look and feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by In Pursuit of "The One" If I were to create my ideal waterproof, insulated 3-in-1 jacket, this would hit 85% of my criteria. PROS: 1. Great outer-shell; performs very well in torrential downpour weather. 2. Insulation is efficient and lightweight for temps 20F & above (depending on activity level). I recommend more layers of insulation below that. 3. Great value in that you do get three jackets in one for all-season function. 4. Look is contemporary but suited to casual work environments or the outdoors CONS: 1. Zippers on the inner jacket get "stuck" at times when pulling down (maybe this is a lemon?); not terrible though and no malfunctions yet. 2. Hood is not properly adjustable. 3. I'm not a fan of elastic cuffs. Makes me feel like I'm wearing a baby onesie. My recommendation: use an "invisible" elastic inside a conventional cuff like other fleece jackets. 4. No pit zip vents -- what happened? Did that get forgotten? They were on the OutDry Ex Gold shell when purchased by itself. FIT / SIZING: I'm 5'11", 186 lbs, 44" chest, athletic build. This jacket could've fit me better to form. It is an "athletic" fit as indicated on the site, however it allows more room in the belly area than I would like, making me feel marshmallow man somewhat. I get it, most customers fit a larger body profile, but that's not me (at least not right now, maybe 10 yrs down the road). As a reference point the Large size Ex Gold Outdry jacket when purchased alone is a perfect fit. Maybe they add more room when selling it as a 3-in-1 interchange. CONCLUSION: I would highly recommend this jacket for most people looking for a) 100% waterproof b) active use c) cost-effective. The next step for improvement I would like to see Columbia take this jacket and make it better with a fleece-based liner much like the Denali North Face. October 25, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just Bought it Just got it via UPS. Not worn it yet. Very light weight...both inner and outer pieces. Appears to be really waterproof. Well thought out except for these things... Both inner and outer jacket zippers are single zippers. Wish they were both double zippers...which would make it easier to use whilst sitting down in a car. Hood does have a string to tighten it, but lacks a stiffener at it's outer edge, as other similar, same brand jackets do have. No provision for tightening hood/collar around neck area...which would help keep out the rain while walking into the rain. Keep trying Columbia, you'll get this one perfect soon. October 13, 2016
